I have never seen so few players on Tanki. 

3,000 is half what I'd expect at this time of day. 

I can't believe this update was play-tested for more than five minutes. 

It has improved nothing, and ruined half the fun of Tanki. 

Definitely needs a rethink.

This Matchmaking system is fundamentally flawed. We can leave a battle early if we don't like the map or for any reason such as being  on the losing side or because it isn't appropriate to our missions. There's no team development over a series of games or loyalty to friends because you can't choose to play battles with friends. Also one can't choose a favourite map or stay in a game because one likes the map. Because of this people are leaving in droves the battles simply become totally unbalanced or are collapsing. It's a complete disaster. It doesn't achieve what it sets out to achieve and makes the game considerably less attractive.

I know that and i know what you mean .  What most of us are saying is that in some kind of false hope that the old system comes back . Was it perfect , no ... but the MM is worse , and by far the most of the people think like that .

That the server doesnt work is a bug and surely they working on it hard to try to fix that .

Why people speak on the forum is not that they hate Tanki , on the contrary ... they love it and are involved in it . But they see that the developers are ruining the game ... so we are mad on them , not at all on Tanki itself .

2 hours later.. Client/Flash/Browser not work.

I managed to get in by 2nd browser on my pc , which i rarely use and never used to log in Tanki . This way it loads the game without battle list . Idk if i can play or not , i tried the client after and this still doesnt work ... so back to the browser and i go check now if i actually can play .

I disagree with the matchmaking system because you cannot chose your own map you want to do your missions in and + when you want to play a certain mode, some of them takes more then 10+ mins or never anyone want to continue waiting and some of them are just to boring and way too high level rank are in that battle, also if you have the list yourself where you want to do your missions, it'll be more fun + you cannot invite your friends in your match that you joined through the matchmaking list, also waiting 5+ mins, you can have already made about 10 kills in that much time, also the feature doesn't actually specifically tell you how much time it will take as it take way to long, and the match I believe is about 7-10 minutes when you joined, that rip for all of us, that a very short time for players to work as a team and if you want to vs the team again, you cannot replay the match again that simply, you got to play again and wait another hole 5+  mins to get in a match again, what fun is this?

Why release an update that restricts players from freely choosing the maps they play on? I do not play on certain maps simply because my internet connection cannot handle the pressure, especially on large maps. What now must I do? Match Making was not carefully thought through, now I have to wait for several minutes before being notified that I have been removed from a battle because of inactivity when I haven't even passed the loading screen... Then when when I do wait forever and is lucky enough to pass the loading screen, I'm thrown on some random large map which I do not like to play on. Our liberty is taken as players, please roll back this update and reconsider. Look at this from the players perspective for once.

also for me system changed paint from black to chain mail . not a huge issue but might be a glitch in system..

 

going into battles which some battles are less then 5 minutes  to battle in..

I can't load the game anymore after this update. IDK why, but come on.

 

@Shaftermath: I'm a offensive Shafter like you, except picking Hornet as my hull, wearing single Shaft defence module.

 

Whoever says DM need to be removed, that's the best mode to farm crystals before the update.

 

I will cry if Alternativa removes Shaft from the game.

This upgrade has some problems:

1. I have invested in making my match play and tank to a specific type.  There are maps that are not well suited for my tank or my playing style -- why did you do that?

2.  What is the purpose of the "Friends" option now?  I can't really invite them into a battle.

3. The login to battle is TOO LONG.  WTH?!  There is no such thing as catching a quick game.

4.  Why do you guys not allow to choose to stay on a site.  You might have found an interesting shot, perch, niche that would be cool to refine, now I am put into a DIFFERENT map.  Change the button from <Continue> to say <Continue playing on a different random map>  Guess that is too long :\

5.  Does MM take into account the type of map and tank OR is it just a player level?

 

This upgrade has reduced the play-ability of the game and it has slowed that amount of playing time.  Please consider a rollback of this upgrade,

 

IF YOU GUYS  WANT SOME PLAYER USER STORIES LET ME KNOW.  Not sure what feedback this upgrade was based on.

Observations:

 

1)  You still have a big churn on starting a map, because no one knows where they are going.  If you arrive

at a map you don't like, with what looks like a dud team, whats the first thing you're going to do. LEAVE, and

this was identified at the outset long before yesterdays woeful adventure.

 

2)  Joining a battle group is a recipe for disaster.  I'm reasonably sure this is where those legend battles with

low ranks are coming from.  You're going to have to look more closely at the participants in a battle group and

assign perhaps the highest rank in the group as either the highest or second highest rank for the battle they are

to be added into. If they all happen to be the same use regular matching.

 

3) At least you did modify mission requirements.  But now its so difficult to find a battle that works for you, in

the target you're trying to achieve they are nigh on impossible. Also adds to the point 1 churn on battle start. 

Having said that, I have managed a couple of  easier missions, on lower ranked accounts.  All in all though,

its not a good position to be in.

 

4)  You need to hold off on putting people into some of these battles, that you're desperate to start, and place

them into a fairer battle so they might stay.  This also was identified previously, nothing seems to have changed

here.

 

Ideas:

 

1) Remove this rubbish! But you don't like to admit something doesn't work, so keep fixing it then. :)

 

2) Do NOT return a player to a battle they've just left.  I left because its rubbish and I don't want to be there.

 

3) Stop the battle countdown from interfering with the chat panel.  Might as well do something while you wait.

I don't know if it is just me experiencing this, but I cannot log onto Tanki. When I log into my account, I'm just stuck on the loading screen. Is there anyway to fix this?
