About strange funds (sometimes total teams sum up crystals-to-xp ratio <1 for Legend ranks)

One thing that was part of this update, was a claim that playing on certain maps does not give a crystal advantage.

 

There were no details on how this is achieved, but I am pretty sure that on maps where the score grows slower the system will give more crystals - an maybe vice versa. This is an assumption, a possibility.. but a very likely one.

 

So if you like to compare things, you would have to compare it a couple of times for the same map. I lack the time, but it would be interesting to go through the 80 pages of this thread and collect all "Legend only" battles per map and analyze those. Or simply wait for an vLog to explain details.. if they like to share them.

 

But nethertheless, a crystals:xp ratio of <1 for the overall amount of all players in a map in Legend ranks seems more like a bug then a feature.

Seems something is not yet tuned well - but ok, they said there will be changes to the crystal/map/xp stuff.

I joined this one when already 3 minutes were played. It's the first time I see EXP > reward for losing team, and I don't understand why. The score is super close. Even the reward for winners is kinda lame. Weird.

I just played an ASL on Kungur with an alt account.  My blue team got slaughtered.   Most of the ranks on my team were WO (ranks12-15) Red team had three more players than us and ranked as high as General (rank 26) with most of the players in the 22+ ranks.  That is 14 ranks higher than me.

 

WO2 (rank12) vs General (rank26)  ...where is Matchmaking's balance?  Uneven team numbers and woefully mismatched rank brackets

...a monkey could have picked a better battle from the battle list without the time wasted in queue. 

 

Actually, I guess this battle couldn't have existed in the previous system because the ridiculously wide rank brackets.

The MM just put me in a battle (queue time about 10sec), but the battle ended by reaching a score of 50 cp right in the very moment when I entered.

The MM seems to pay more attention to the remaining battle time and less to the score itself. Especially in CP battles you can calculate how far you could turn the score in the last 2 minutes, assuming your team caps all points and the score keeps counting up. This could work as an indicator on how usefull it is to put players into an obviously won or obviously lost battle.

Stop blaming magnumz

 

I blame Magnums for what they deserve. I know how to root them out. They can be rooted out. But having to do the same sort of rooting game after game is tedious. And my reward is if I make one mistake in the chain the Magnum dribbles a shell somewhere within a city block of my tank and I die. 

 

So yeah, I'll keep blaming them.

As for  MM I forgot to say before that the Quick Battle still lets you start fast. Often I click "Continue" after a battle and am taken straight to a new set-up. 

 

Long waits for ASL games for missions.  Get ASL games from the Quick Start button often too. There have been some really tight ASL games. But more often than not the game is lopsided.  Some maps are simply horrible. A couple are are OK. But bottom line this is the worst team mode IMO.

Recruits you see that come in a battle with Legends are most likely the Legends alt accounts bypassing the low ranks using the "Group" function, I agree they must look into this Group function as soon as possible because it's just ruining the balance in all matchs, so the Recruits you see are mostly Friends of that Legend player. (The Recruit probably has an own high account of himself/herself). But doing their friend a favour and testing this matchmaking system with low accounts, some in this thread have also taken it as some players are Criticizing the system to show proof that it's not working properly, but actually just needs some rank limits on the "Group" function.

 I waited 3 hours and it didnt put me in a match.

​Whao, buddy why didn't you simply click on the "exit​" button after 2 minutes max, then re-attempt to join that mode, you'll most likely be put into a reasonable game within the next 5-20 seconds.

Yeah, that si what happens when clowns join using the group system. But there are other issues, WO5s shouldn't be any matchmaking with Major Generals, under the old system 2nd Lt was the lowest you could fight 2 stars.

After a battle is over, we are still given an option of leaving or continue. If I press continue, sometimes I stay in the same battle and sometimes I'm sent back to the lobby. What makes the difference?

HINT - press Continue as quickly/early as possible. You will be at the head of the queue and joined by every other player who just left that battle. Assuming you want to keep playing the same mode (i.e. for mission) the system should send you quickly into another battle.

 

Worked for me today, Tried twice, both times. I got immediately into a new battle, with a lot of the same players, although the team mix was scrambled, but that’s okay.

Won't there always be mults? I don't see how matchmaking completely stopped them, some players do it for fun.

 

(Mults are still getting reported in game violation reports  the last one was 5/30/18 (yesterday)

At least the intentional mults should be gone. The ones put into your team by the other team. As for bad players - those will always be present. The best devs can do is make sure there's an equal number of bad players on each team.

 

So you enjoy 1+ minute waiting before joining almost all battles for just playing 10 minutes and waiting again in the cue. And you like all the maps equally too. 

So far about 50% of the time I waited less than 10 seconds to get into a battle. It's either less than 10s, or 1-2 minutes, strangely enough. And even if it was 1 minute every time, that's still arguably better than clicking through battles to find a suitable one and waiting for 5 minutes until the battle fills up. As for maps - I would prefer to be able to choose them, but it's something I'm willing to sacrifice. If devs make maps more balanced (by removing badly designed (no offence Hazel) maps such as Highways and Massacre), then the inability to choose maps won't really be a problem for me anymore.

 

On the other hand, this has to stop. Seriously? Two stupid clan groups in the SAME team? How is that fair?

Maf, the problem i have with these mod comments is that it all sounds so neutral. Why even bother to list the Advantages and Disadvantages? Its not about weighing pros and cons. 

Then i pity you guys. You are mediating something without realising the severity of the development. Fulfilling a role with your mouths gagged not being able to say what you mean. 

Most of the time I say exactly what I mean, just in a reasonable and neutral manner. Instead of claiming that this update destroyed Tanki and will force players to leave, I just list exactly what's wrong with the update, which issues I would like to see fixed and how I think it should be improved. If everyone did that, developers would find it much easier to find out what players want.

There’s nothing to miss. It’s a legitimate function. You’re not really continuing the same battle. Perhaps a better label for the Continue button would be ‘Re-Queue’

26k players online and MatchMaker just put me into a CTF battle with score 5-0 and just over 3 minutes left in game.   :angry:

 

Seriously - what a mess.  Quick exit.

Guess I should go and see what is going on in the "World of Tanks" or "War Thunder".  I am assuming their developers don't waste their time killing those platforms.

USMC_Tank_commander: I joined World of Tanks and World of warships a few months back and I although I hate matchmaking at least with those 2 got the system right. I am always put in a battle with players of no more than 1 rank higher than me and their system matches the types of firepower too. That is if I am playing with an M2 tank the opponents have at least 1 M2 or equivalent tank.  Now that is a true matchmaking system and not this hodge-podge system that Hazel Rah concocted. And guess what! I never had any nebulous "an error has occurred" or lag or freezes.  I have to say they are much better platforms than Tanki online.  They also have training rooms where more senior players can organize training sessions so you can get familiar with tactics and weapons. Light years more advanced than this.

I have never commented in this forum since I started several years ago. One cannot be successful in business without keeping customers happy. WE ARE NOT HAPPY!!! I am currently looking for another venue to spend my money on. Don't know if I will continue with Tanki.

My playing time is down to a few minutes at a time just out of curiosity. I am here to see how this disaster is going to turn out. I am having a lot of fun reading all these complains from the majority of the players and apologists like you and Bozo88 trying to defend the biggest screw up by tanki! Just when I thought that the stupidity had reached its pinnacle, Tanki managed to kick it up to notches never seen in the scale of stupidity!

Biggest screw ups of TO:

-limiting battle creation to pro pass

-limiting missions to regular non pro battle

-introducing magnum and striker

-shortening GB drop times

-limiting friend lists to whatever the number is. 300 or something

-introducing containers in missions, allowing poorer tankers to get more goodies and crystals

-removing "get 10 flags" missions

-shortening battle times from 15 long boring minutes to a quick 10

 

Hit to readers: half of the above is sarcasm

How about leaving the game to die off in 2015? ;p that was a pretty big one.

I don't really like the new matchmaking update. I wish I could join any map I want. I just can't get as much experience as I used to. I don't really enjoy playing tanki as much as I used to.
