Well we are pushing 5 days of this garbage MMS.  I have yet to battle with any of the friends on my list this week in a consistent balanced battle.  You can't join friends in battles.  You can't see what battle mode they are in to possibly join at random to there battle.  You can't add them to the group because they are in a battle, but you can't see that.  You give up on waiting for them to be out of a battle you have no idea how much time is left and join a battle.  Now they can't add you to the group for a battle because you are in a battle but they can't see that, nor can they join yours.  You can't watch them in the battle to see if they won or lost.  You can't choose what map you want to battle on.  You can't invite friends to help out or just to have a good battle.  And the auto exit, wow get rid of that.  There is a continue button and an exit button.  If you want to exit click on exit.  Its that simple.

I was put in a polygon map one night I didn't want to battle on.  I left and went back to the same mode and was put in the exact same map with the same players 4 times only switching from blue to red team each time.  How dumb is that?

Get rid of MMS with its random battles, no invites, lack of friends and bring back the battle list to let us choose.

You really can't find anything good in this update? I can't believe!  :D  Is not nice and developers will be upset on you reading your words.  :) Be positive as our comrade Jolteon did few lines above you.  ;) Why he can and you don't?  :)

No of Players:  24.5K - Devs feels no pressure to remove MMS.  Sad that 95% of you complained so much about MMS and threaten to leave and yet 60% of you still continue to play MMS.  I think can stop complaining. :(((

The number of players online includes the ones playing PRO battles and probably the ones that are complaining here.  Just look at the list of PRO battles, how it has grown.  PRO battles are fun these days, with more variety and freedom to choose, like the old tanki, when there was a slogan in the screen that said something like this: "don't find what you like?, create a new battle!" .....Do you remember?

But 7 caps won’t win an ASL battle...

That could always be changed. For example, giving 10 points per flag instead of 5 and reducing the number of kills required down to 70.

It may be a bug, or just result of ping, and the few miliseconds flag return time, but once it happened to me that I took a flag after a player in front of me died (and I capped it), while I was driving just behind him. Never managed to repeat it.

I’ve seen this happen too. Very rare, and I agree, IMO it’s a loophole created by maybe lag, but a tanker picks up the flag just a split second before the auto-return detects that the flag has been dropped.

I imagine this is being exploited by clever teams. Two tanks form a train with the flag bearer in the lead. Both must be moving, preferably with speed boost. This way when the lead Flag Carrier dies, the corpse moves out of the way of the flag and the follower immediately picks it up.

It’s a very difficult thing to pull off intentionally, and it does not guarantee you a capture, but it certainly increases your chances.

matchmaking-wide.jpg

Here’re the main goals of Matchmaking:

  • provide fair conditions for all players in the battle (nobody can predict what map will be next, who will be on the enemy team, what equipment to use);
  • make it easy and simple to find battles;
  • create battles with equal team composition;
  • fill the teams from the start of the battle;
  • exclude the possibility of sending passive mults to the enemy team;
  • provide easy to use system to play with friends and clan members in groups.

So how are they doing?

1. Fair conditions

Nope, I'm still more often than not joining a battle on a losing and depleted side against tanks many ranks higher.

2. Easy and simple to find battles

Well, easy and simple to find bad battles, so long as you don't mind a long wait each time.

3. Equal team composition

Well, maybe the newly-created battles are, if you're lucky enough to join one (but see 1 and 2 above)

4. Fill the teams from the start of the battle

Really? I don't think I've ever joined an 8 v 8 battle.

5. Passive mults

Well, maybe, but it was never much of a problem. Anyway, I still see passive players from time to time, and I also see group friends/clans in Deathmatch ganging up on other individuals, which isn't in the spirit of that battle (join Team Deathmatch if you want to do that)

6. Easy to use for friends/clans

Well, being a Shaft, I don't have friends (apart from the lovely Guido Fawkes). I'll take it on trust that that function works, but it's not my priority.

Overall verdict, Matchmaking has addressed your Mult problem, but in doing so has made it impossible to avoid unfair battles, and wastes so much of our time in waiting to join them

Hey Nives or Dev. Team,

real quick for Rugby and CTF please take into consideration exp points for times and time you your tank actual carries ball or flag for reward and picking up the flag or ball.  Lots of times I carry or I see some one else pick up ball / flag and use many supplies and by bad team or whatever gets blown up right before score and some one else picks it (ball/flag) and gets credit for score.  I think assists like in basketball or soccer is very important to game.  So please calculate that in to reward for game too.   Maybe your on to it as I am..  Just looking for it to be more rewarding in non pro battles and pro.  Yes once in a while you may get lucky and score a goal by finding flag or ball right near goal but few and far in between.  I think the people touching the ball and carrying it needs to be rewarded even for just picking it (ball/Flag) up to get it started to the goal too.  Just sniping is cool, but rewarding players with crystals in fund will encourage fellow tankers to get involved touching/

carrying the flag as long as they can.  Thats part of rugby and soccer is keep away, so it would be refreshing to see some of the fund divide up to ball / flag carrier during game and for the time carrying it.  The score of a goal or Flag may drop for scorer but its a team game.  But if carrier from pick up to goal does it all then ya they should be getting big piece of pie (fund).

thanks for listening

& hope it makes sense

My mistake! I forgot to mention the magic words: no supplies battles. The idea was to play without spending money. If we all do this is not good for "the guys from the skies" and maybe they will come down with the feet on the ground...

I was one of the buyers and I think I spent already too much money in this game to get now this...'update'.

But I considered that I must support the devs because I liked the game. Which in these days is not true anymore so, no more money here. From March. But if the devs don't care about us, why I should care about them?

This won’t happen because most free players are hopelessly addicted to missions and chains.

But if a non-pro boycott ever were to actually happen, Designers will simply remove PRO completely. They’ve talked seriously about removing PRO twice now. IMO Designers have tipped their hand that they don’t like PRO battles, and it’s just a matter of time before devs remove them, or worse, leave them but remove XP and crystal awards, so that they are called ‘practice’ battles.

Thank you so much for MMS, dear developers!

You gave me the gift I was waiting almost 4 years for. Finally I can spend my time more efficiently than waste it in tanki battles. My family will send you a handwritten thank-you letter asap.

As a veteran in this game (and a buyer :P ) I must really laugh what you did. The game always has had a strong social dimension, I remember yours: Have fun with your friends in unforgettable battles! (haha, such a disgrace :), where I can find my friends in this MMS a play with them? Why I can´t choose which map and who I join on my own?

I bought my supplies to help my friends or to torment players who are not even my favourites, but now I am like a puppet. Thrown somewhere and cross my fingers there is at least one player with a brain in my team.

You really don´t trust us we are able to balance battles according to our own experience? Or you wanna kick off legends and focus on junior grade players only, who are wet behind the ears and wanna squeeze some money out of them?

If the game goes really to the hell, do it how somebody has already mentioned: shut down servers and don´t fool us in this agony.

RECRUITMENT! Guys, is there any game developer? I bet if we, dissapointed players, donate our money which we are used to spening in tanki as a basics for the NEW tanki, with a healthy core of community, we could get soon a new nice and similar game, where developers will be driven by players and not vice versa as we are experiencing just now.

So how are they doing?

Well, my thoughts after playing about ten back to back battles this morning.

1. Fair conditions

Much improved from before MM. MM can’t fix Magnum, but it didn’t introduce Magnum either.

9/10.

2. Easy and simple to find battles

8/10 - Improved even from last week’s introduction. Even for specific modes, I was not waiting more than a minute.

3. Equal team composition

6/10 - Looking just at rank, I often saw many Legends on one side and mostly Fieldmarshals-Gissmos on the other. Ironically those are not always the blowout battles, so I can’t completely fail them on this one, although it does look odd.

4. Fill the teams from the start of the battle

8/10 - sure teams are even and mostly full, but again I’ve seen a few 4x4 and 5x5. Not the end of the world. Those battles with slightly fewer players can be fun too.

5. Passive mults

4/10 - My lowest rating here. The occasional / rare? mult has been replaced by a ubiquitous AFK problem. Many, many battles start with 2-4 players just not moving. Usually works itself out within the first few minutes of play, but IMO the cure is worse than the disease. Battles are often decided by who takes the early score advantage. Despite battle fun equalization (which is awesome), players still leave battles when the other team scores points early in battle.

6. Easy to use for friends/clans

8/10 - I use neither clan nor Group systems, so i’m giving the benefit of the doubt here. Subtract two points for the stupid and foreseeable Recruit in Legend battles.

Overall Rating: 7/10

I waited a minute and a half to join a battle that lasted long enough for me to materialize and get one shotted. Game Over. I hit the continue button and was sent back to the lobby.

I was put into a battle that was all Major, Lt. Colonel, and Colonel. I was the only low ranked player. At first I didn't check the line up. Not until I noticed I was getting one shotted and I couldn't make any kills, even with supplies activated. I can go against Majors, but above that I'm cannon fodder. Thanks MMS. Yes, I did leave the battle. (Hope the "leave early" penalty isn't implemented).

I've read page after page of complaints, a few think this is a good update. From those complaining, I see walls upon walls of text, but of those who think this is a good update, I see a couple sentences. From those who think this is a good update, I want to see a wall of text telling me what so wonderful about it.

How about some more actual feedback and not a bunch of children whining.

My initial thoughts.

Pros:

1) The change to Battle Funds is good. I always hated the losing team getting next to nothing after a hard fought, and narrow loss. As we get used to it, maybe players will stay in battles to the end and make better battles.

2) I like the random maps, because some maps I did not play because certain turrets dominated those maps, i.e. Highways. That was a shaft heavy map. I played one the other day that had no shafts and did not figure out till the end why it was a good battle. Now you shafts ( I hate shafts think they are for) have to play on maps that are less advantageous to your turret.

3) It is good to have the teams even from the start. Not everyone starts at once, but the battle do not get one-sided from the start. Too many times before when you looked at the Battle Lists there was nothing but full or completely one-sided battles avail.

Cons:

1) There were some uneven battles based on rank, but in the vlog it stated that was something they were working on.

2) Waiting time is kinda crappy, but it it means a better battle i can suffer through. After awhile I can probably get used to it. Although, I play at most of the highest usage times, I can see waits at low usage times will be  much longer.

3) More maps, please.

Overall it is just something else we HAVE to get used to. Not all good, not all bad, just different. At least devs are trying to make it better.

Other:

1) Drones?!? Really?!? That looks  and sounds like the stupidest, most annoying thing ever. Please Don't !!!

2) I am worried about getting hosed on this new module thing. We will have to see.

Edit

I should add that , pressing Continue when the scoreboard appears always took me directly (or maybe 10 seconds max) into a new battle. I was able to do missions quickly so long as I remembered to clock the button almost as soon as the battle ended and thus be near the top of the queue.

I think people who like MM are mostly the ones with relatively less experience (hours played) in the game.  They are not yet sick of playing in some maps and they don't mind being put in a random battle whatever it is.  But how long will this last for them?  Do they think they never will get bored?

How long will the new players last in the game?  This game reached 100K players among other things because people could choose the battle. That was a difference with other online games.  So, when the new players realize how awful is to be put in a battle they don't want to play, what will be the situation of the game? When they get sick of playing again and again in the same combinations of maps and modes...

Tanki may be relying in mobile players.  But probably these players will be the first that will quit battles before the end, since they might be playing in the street or in such circumstances that they can't play the battles until the end.

About being tired of some maps, one can play in those maps again after some time, when the player choose to do it.  But being forced to play in a map in which the player doesn't want to play at that moment is a different thing.  How can MM know if the player wants to play there or not?

Is a player forced to play in a battle if he doesn't want to?  Is this a job or a game?

Good move. You are doing it right. Spend you time with your family. Go outing rather than sitting in front of the computer for hours working (playing Tanki) like a slave and keep paying. Spend you money to buy some goodies, a camera may be to take pictures of your family, pets etc. Or to go for a nice dinner rather than spend money on a game that will take away what you bought. It is really a good decision. Two thumbs up. :D

2) I am worried about getting hosed on this new module thing. We will have to see.

Good analysis and insight. I may have to turn my keyboard from hate to strong dislike and continue the discussion. Here's my two pennies woth of opinions:

1. Make MM optional. There was the Battle -button already. I have no idea how much this was used, but I did not use it at all. Maybe I should've given it a go but I didn't. Incorporate MM with Battle -button and maybe add a small incentive to the users. Leave us the freedom of finding our own battles if we want to. This way, if we enter a crappy game, it's our own fault. I am not against matchmaking as such (I may have sounded like that previously, my bad), but what I am against is forcing it on us. Sometimes it's good to enter a completely random game to see how I do and maybe I might learn something, make new friends etc.

2. The social aspect of TO. This has been a very big thing among players. By forcing MM to all, this aspect of the game is ruined almost completely. The group -function does not cover the loss, since it is very limited compared to friends list. Again, making MM optional, you brign back one very big lure of TO. I enjoyed looking for friends in the battles and surprising them by either joining their side or the opposite side. Also sometimes answered to the call of friends to battles. Again, fun. The fun part of TO has suffered a mortal blow by enforcing MM to everyone.

3. The bugs, lags etc. of MM will eventually be ironed out, I have no doubt about that. Creating MM for TO must not have been an easy task and when the system finally works, it will be ok. But this is just the technical side of TO. What MM does to the overall experience of TO is something completely different. Predicting human behavior is difficult at best, but there are some basics. One thing that really stands out in this upgrade is that it very much limits the freedom of players to choose how, what and with whom they play. You do not have to be a genius to have some sort of idea what this could do to the community of players.

4. The direction this forced MM introduced is taking TO is towards faster gameplay at the expense of the social aspect. MM with shortened battles is taking a lot of the fun-factor of TO. This is especially true since MM now quite often throws players to games with not much time left on the clock. Also the feature that you cannot continue the battle that just ended removes the social aspect and takes the game again towards an arcade-type, quick action game that might be fun for a short time but does not give room to long-term enjoyment and development.

Sometimes I do not know anymore, where I am here.
When I started playing exactly three years ago, there were loads of nice people here and it was free to play.
80 to 100 thousand user a day, in the late evening a little less. Currently there are about 23 thousand people online and in the evening it goes down to 8 thousand people. After one year, as soon I reached the general rank, TO started gradually changing everything.

Today I am legendary, incapacitated, censored. banned, harassed and soon I will be expropriated too.

This is more than outrageous. Free is nothing anymore here.
For me, that's the sheer theft, because I worked and paid for it.
That I will be compensated adequately for the modules they will take away from me, I do not believe anymore. The last update has finally taken me to believe in the integrity of the TO makers.

Here I'm nothing more than a milking cowe...

But I will not put up with that.
I will not go away and give up what I have laboriously built up in three years with also a few hundred euros invest. And I will not stop to play too.

This MMS is the biggest mistake what TO has ever brought into this game, because it does not work back and forth. The TO makers think they are sitting on the longer lever, but here they're wrong.
Legal steps are pointless with this Eula.
But there are enough other ways to fight back. A anti TO facebook page for example.
Or even better: simply do not buy anything anymore.
Do not invest not even one cent here anymore. Not until they have taken back this stupid MMS. Because one thing is certain - not we do need TO, but TO needs it`s users.
23 thousand users have to pay the monthly income of about one hundred employees. That will not work, it can´t. Let's see how long they can do it, if no one pays even a single cent from all users. I´m sure, with the obvious greed of the TO makers that they will not last long.
So stay close, think about it. We are all in the same boat.
And together we will show how strong we are!

greetings from germany

L_Ö_S_T_H_O_P_E

I agree "Simply do not buy anything anymore". We can see that Tanki doesn't care peak time players drops to 20k+ from 100k+ years ago as long as buyers still buy, a lot. The most effective way is to stop buying. Let them see how their coming birthday sale will become. If we are doing it right, there is still a chance they will do something. I don't think they will roll back the MM but at least, may be, the choose of maps will be back or we will have better, more reasonable compensations for the modules later. Think about it buyers, this game frequently making updates to play fool around (mostly nerfing) your equipment to make you pay more to upgrade them then they nerf and change the properties of them again. Take a few seconds to think you will find that your equipment i.e your tank is not the one you bought in the first place. Do you think it is ok? Now, this game evolves into one that take away what you have paid for, namely the ability to choose maps at this moment and later the modules you own. You still think it is ok? and you will buy more? Think about it, if you buy a nice car today, will the dealer or the manufacturer go to your garage a few weeks later to reduce the acceleration or increase the fuel consumption of it? and a month later they go to your garage again to take away 4 doors then give you 4 tires as compensation then tell you: see, you have 4 extra tires and it is so good to have 8 tires on one car and we don't take away your car it is still yours but you need doors so buy doors from us. You may ask what do I do with the 4 extra tires. They will say come to buy another car, without doors of course, you will save the price of 4 tires. Does it sound good and fair? They don't point you with a gun to force you to buy doors, you can leave your car there with no doors and you still own your car but you need doors otherwise your car simply cannot go on the street. So you think it is ok and you still go buy doors and buy new cars from them in the future? Don't be fooled. You keep buying, they keep changing. Stop buying and let them know.

What is wrong with the Client? I can't enter the game...

And I can with Chrome. So it's not my Internet.

But it's laggy as heck on Chrome. Fix the Client plz.

It's a shame to always witness the same issues, over and over again.

No worry, working on it :P Just happy that somebody (intelligentsia from Perm) helps to kick my butt to move the right direction.

It seems that I was wrong all this time and I was ironic for nothing. :) Mea culpa!  :)  Semyon indeed knows better what is good for us, the players. He just wanted to send us earlier back home to spend more time with our families. But because we are bad boys and bad girls and we stay here wasting our time and money with Tanki, he had no other option than to come with this very unpopular update which even himself doesn't like it at all, just to force us to go home. Thank you, thank you, now I understood that MMS is the best update at the right moment.

Peace, love and understanding between players and developers!   :P
