[...] Again, bare in mind that these are today...right now...not history from the glitched up introduction of MM.   And these screens show why this auto-kick idea is just not a good idea, if fact it is a very bad idea and needs to be forgotten.

It's a very good idea, but I'm not the one in charge, I posted here so it is feedback to the developers. 3 minutes is a value I just picked up as an example. "Auto-kick" is such a negative word - it's a fail-safe - no more no less.

For the non peak time zone things are definitely different. Space between 2 movies start time is probably wider and require a different timeout value. Coding offers you flexibility to adjust for peak and non peak time.

For LATAM/BR/NA, I don't know why they do not merge the servers - it would be so much beneficial for both EN and BR communities. I suspect a regulatory hurdle.

If you could remove Massacre map from MM system that would be great. The map is broken, you drive and the tank gets stuck. It doesn't have a soft surface, the tank gets stuck on a round texture.

Same, I hate that map

Now 54 Game-Ending Errors.

And a system crash.

I'm on a linux-based system, so system crashes are relatively rare.  I get one maybe 2 to 4 times a year.  Except when I'm running Tanki.  I've had 7 - yes SEVEN system crashes since MatchMaker was implemented.  I don't know what idiocy Tanki has written into the software update - but it's playing MAJOR HAVOC with otherwise well-behaved computer systems.

Can't even complete my missions because Tanki is so unstable.

KILL MATCHMAKER NOW!

(Future is the only map I really hate)

Current MM annoyance is clicking on "Continue" (usually to continue or re-attempt a Daily Mission) > wait > battle gets stuck on loading. Have to press Escape to reset it and try again.

It is a very bad idea.  I'm sorry, but you are wrong.  It is upsetting and frustrating because you are one of the people that will relay ideas and feedback to the devs...you are not "just another player".  If you can look at evidence that goes to contrary to your idea and still say your idea is a good idea...and argue that it is a good idea....what chance do we players have when you take this idea to the devs.  Will you say, "Here is a good idea that came from feedback in the forum".  My opinion of YOUR idea and the potential harm it will cause will not even get mentioned, because it is your idea and you think it is good.  And certainly the devs won't think how this idea might do damage.  The only thing that might stop this bad idea is if they are lazy and don't get around to implementing it.

How can you not see that any arbitrary time for an auto-kick, fail-safe, mercy-exit, in-you face-plug-pull, timed-out, whatever won't work well and will possibly cause harm to some players?  Three minutes is obviously too short.  Look at the screens I posted.  If it had been 3 minutes I never would have gotten into a game, because the system would just keep auto-kicking me to make me wait another 3 minutes to auto-kick me to never get into a battle.  If it had been 4 minutes mostly the same thing.  If the auto kick didn't initiate until 5 minutes, a player might be doomed to have waiting times increased to hours before being able to enter a battle...who is going to wait that long?

You are talking about potentially increasing waiting times dramatically...can't you see that?  Please consider this for a moment and try to see this from a perspective other than your own.  Do you really trust the devs codeing to differentiate between peak times and off times? I sure don't (I assume movies in your post is a typo)

And, above all, your idea is an unnecessary feature...it's not difficult for a player to click exit and then click Play! again...it's just not hard.  Let players have control.  Fail-safe/auto-kick = potential harm

My idea is the best idea because i'm very good with idea (and it's mine). it's flexible, so it up to the dev to optimise it, to use it to reject it.

It's a tiny idea  but it is good to see that this is more of a concern to you that the overall MMS system. You got used to it somehow.

I wish they implement it, so i can still skype while waiting for a battle assignment.

No I'm not one of those who relay/report ideas/player feedback, beside e v e r y t h i n g is relayed and dev comes here first hand. I saw the reports and the idea are not judged by the reporter. And yes i'm like another player however with other functions which do not count for the dev even if you think otherwise. Never had and never will have direct contact with them (but i like when lord impoolse like one on my post    - it happened once). If you start to sway the discussion on the mod or developers, you will reach a dead end.

I actually thought you might be LittleWillie, but your profiles/ratings don't match up.

Anyway, it is very good to know that you have no contact with the devs....what a relief.

And you are right, it is a tiny idea...a tiny idea that has the potential to make the myriad problems with MM even worse, and help NOTHING in the process.  I am dealing with MM...people deal with terminal diseases, so yeah, I guess I got used to MM.

Your writing is sometimes rather cryptic with all the mistakes, but I truly hope lord impoolse "likes" one of your posts again...just not any of the ones with this bad idea of yours in them.

Cheers

This sort of statement is really worrying, the amount of myths, stories and gossip about the mods/devs is insane. How much post, interview, info and articles should be wrote again and again to still have this poping around?

?Like seriously? A mod using an alt to sway a topic or behave in a different way - that is a very bad idea! You have really bad idea for sure and it's yours (keep it).

I like Massacre too.  I would like it even more if whatever those invisible obstacles are didn't impede you frequently, but overall, it is one of my favorite maps...it's kind of a Twins/Viking paradise.

I have found that the "continue" function is more trouble than it's worth...loading problems, like you said, or it just takes you to Quick Battle instead of the type of battle you were just in.  I used to use it, but now I always just click "Exit" and click the mode I want.

the finish top 3 in winning team mission should be changed back to finish first.

yesterday i finished first in most battles but never completed that stupid mission cause i lost every single battle i played.

and when i tried playing DM they kept sending me to battles already half over.

The magic of internet and a couple of wires. Technically it is possible. You have a central server coordinating and dispatching players into the battles servers. Once you combine the pool of players from BR and EN, USA  and BR, which are on the same time zone, they could play together increasing the pool of player for MMS. The central server and the peripheral servers do not need to be at the same place.

A good option would be to relocate the BR servers between USA and BR.

No, it takes you to the mode you selected. Seems like your desperate fury to denigrate MM has reduced you to lying and to accusing solid forum ciizens like Viking of running sockpuppets.  You're the new Make Railguns Like The Used to Be (or whatever his name was) the poster you see the name you don't read the post because you arleady know its a preztel logic mess.

When it was released the devs said:

1. MM will create more even/balanced battles.

2. MM will let users be able to quickly enter a battle and then leave and join another one

In reality, the battles are not balanced at all, since the efficiency is no way to show how good you are at the game.

The wait times are usually over a minute, which is much longer than it normally takes to select a battle from the battle list, and MM creates server lag, slowing down or sometimes crashing the servers from functioning properly.

Not only are the wait times over a minute and matches balanced, MM often sends us into battles where there is less than a minute left and your entire team is getting destroyed and leaving.

PROS:

1. Denies players from joining the winning side in one-sided battles.

2. Usually a fresh battle is created for the user to join in.

CONS:

1. Drastically Increased Lag + Often Server Crashes (server crashes may or may not have been fixed)

2. Increases wait time of getting into a battle

3. Unable to allow us to invite friends to battles without inviting them to your party, and the max number is only 3.

4. User is often sent in a battle where their team has already lost.

5. User is often sent in a battle in its final minutes.

6. Player is forced to play the same maps over and over again.

I think the devs have finished their MM update because they are currently focusing on other updates such as drones and balancing the turrets and HTML5.

Absolutely nothing new here that has not been said, refuted, counter-refuted, and re-said 100 times already. There is not unique or novel angle on MM to warrant a separate thread.

I don't know if your issues are caused by rank difference, location or whatever else, but for me MM is working fine. The wait time is usually less than 5 seconds (if it's longer, then I either restart or go in another tab while I wait), while lags and crashes are minimal. I don't find myself in half-finished blowout battles that often. Maybe one in 6 times. Even when I do, I usually just stay and play until the end, since winning or losing doesn't matter that much anymore. The maps thing is annoying, but I'm used to it by now.

but the whole point of starting a seperate server in USA was so that people in north and south america wouldn't have to suffer from poor fps...

wouldn't doing what you said be undoing all the time and money they spent to do this in the first place? had they wanted to do this they wouldn't have set the servers up there in the first place.

Which servers in USA? They are in Brazil for BR community. USA playing on EN servers use servers based in NL (4600 km distance by flight).

By comparison USA - Brazil distance is 7300 km (by flight). The real distance in term of internet submarine optic cable is more complicated (see the map below).

What was done doesn't matter is this case, we are discussing what could be done to improve player pool and MMS.

the LATAM and BR servers are in USA... no they are not in brazil (unless the part where i found out the location was in USA was just a dream)

what you're suggesting could be done to improve player pool for mms but it wouldn't make any sense as it'd just cause everyone to lag like hell.
