Matchmaking is coming May 29th

Here's what I think is wrong on the whole concept of  MM:

 

1. Inability to choose maps. We all have our favourites and dislikes.

 

2. Not possible to look for friends through the friends list and join them.

 

3. Not able to continue the same map after the current battle ends.

 

4. Inability to choose the side of battle. This applies especially to ASL mode.

 

5. Inability to call in reinforcements through friends list during battle

 

6. Lost time first waiting to join a battle and then orienteering yourself to the surroundings.

 

7. Inability to change sides on the current battle to keep it alive.

 

8. Inability to optimize your hull, protection and turret to match the map and playing style before joining a battle

 

9. Time lost for changing EQ after joining the battle to optimize performance

 

Here is what is wrong  by my opinion with the current implementation of MM:

 

1. Longish wait times joining battles

 

2. Being placed to a battle with only a few minutes on the clock

 

3. Being placed in one-sided battle. The current rate is unacceptable.

 

4. Balancing still does not work, too often there is a huge rank-gap.

 

5. After battle ends, you might end up in a different battle-mode.

 

6. Battles are not full from the beginning.

 

7. After players leave, their places are not necessarily filled.

 

8. Way too few maps in the random pool

 

 

 

The bugs will eventually ironed out, but that does not change the opinion about MM. It sucks. It disrupts the whole game play of what TO used to be about. It changes the whole dynamics of the game so utterly and completely that it is just so unbelievable that this was ever introduced. MM was flagged as a total failure during testing a year ago and the public opinion has not changed from that time. There has been only a very few explanations from the devs why this change was introduced and I have to say that those few explanations have been extremely lame to say the least. I could have made a fortune by just selling crutches to these lame excuses by the devs.

 

Yes, there are players who like this change and that is totally ok. Just do not try your opinion up as being the only truth.

 

 

I appreciate your clear list of downsides of the matchmaking system. It reflects what most players have written in this threat. Your list contains many points that surely can be (or need to be) improved, starting with the balance of both teams.

 

I clicked on TDM, waited for about a minute and was sent to a battle with only about 2 minutes left in battle. At the end, I clicked on "Continue" which, of course, sent me back to the lobby. Almost immediately, the loading bar started. I thought, "Good, no waiting time." But instead of being sent to TDM, I found myself in CTF. I didn't click on a CTF battle or Quick Battle, not even accidentally, the loading bar was immediate. So, MMS is randomly choosing for me? It's bad enough I can no longer choose my own battles, now MMS is choosing the battle style as well? 

Thank you for reporting that issue, more players have noticed this happening. Will pass it on for the devs to fix.

I agree with you anyway I hate when they send us to battles we hate like I hate Basra cp for example they send me to it that's unfair bad

What if 100% of players disliked and refused the update , what will the devs do ? I mean u said ''mm is here to stay' okay I understand , but if we all refused it (and yes we all refused it already) , what do they do ?

I'm not sure. Hypothetically speaking, if not a single player would play anymore, there are two options: pull the plug or make severe changes (if it isn't too late already by then).

Now I'm beginning to get gun shy about clicking on a battle. I've been sent to a fair amount of battles with Majors, Lt. Colonels and Colonels. I can go against Majors, but above that, I'm cannon fodder. For the first time, I was sent to a battle with several Brigadiers. I would never, ever choose a battle like that. I would have to be insane or a mult. That's exactly how I felt. You can bet your booty I left. Tanki would have to give me 10,000 crystals each time I died for me to stay in a battle like that. Being one shotted repeatedly and not being able to do much damage is not what I call fun.

Sensed me to a battle fully if mammoths m1 5/10 I kill them about 5-6 shots using my railgun ,

I'm wondering does the MMS care about what combo do u use ? Like if I had mammoth will it send me to a different map than when I was using the weak railgun and wasp ? If it does pls help me

 

Mammoth+any gun = badra + polygon+ arena ?

 

Wasp + any gun + arena + duel + highland ?

 

Hornet + any gun = highways+ dulessover + noise ?

 

Is it work like this ?

For a second there was hope, when I was not able to lock-in because of maintenance last night, but  MISMATCH is still ongoing. Double the the wait, with half the play. In short fun killer.

There's a few problems with this MM system. I've entered a few games now where it is already 5-0 in CTF mode and one team is getting spawn killed. I imediately quit those games. Also organised clans are still able to join on one side because of the group function so there isn't really any improvement in balance at all.

Happened to me multiple times.  Once it placed me in a battle with 3 minutes left and "my team" losing 5-0.  What is the point?  I can't possibly accomplish anything so what incentive do I have to stay?  None at all.  So I leave and that team still short.  They need to bring in a mercy rule - where # of tanks terminates battle, OR the score terminates the battle.  CTF... 5-0 that battle is done - stick a fork in it.

 

 

The thing with blowouts, I feel, is that they happen less often because of the ability to freely leave and enter battles as they used to. There are still blowouts, but at least half the team doesn't leave the match and there is some incentive to staying and playing because the rewards are better.

How is "half the team staying"  (say 8 vs 4 to finish) good for the game?  Seems good only for the team winning as 1) they still have targets and 2) can increase their reward even more.

 

Providing better reward to "losers" only really works when battle is somewhat close. Then most will stay.  Once it turns into a route it's not just about reward - who wants to stay as the punching bag?  I play for crystals sure - as they are need to compete.  But I also play for fun.  Once that fun-factor disappears there is no reason for me to remain in battle.

 

Take a Highways for example. But unless you are using Shaft or Railgun or Magnum, playing on Highways is a nightmare.

matchmaking does not prevent anyone with those turrets in garage from equipping them.  So you will still see those turrets abundant in Highways (or Brest) and if you can't handle them it's still a pain for "non-shafts" to play the map.  This is more prevalent at upper ranks where Legends have a full garage and have no issue switching to Shaft or Magnum.

now i have 39% vulcan, 44% ricochet, 44% shaft, 44% magnum, 45% thunder, 45% twins, 45% railgun...

the only turrets i have little or no protection are striker(15%), isida(15%), smoky, firebird, freeze and hammer...


but matchmaking is all on big maps so...


I think i just transcended to godhood

Don't be surprised in the next days ,

Tanki online will keep doing servers-down (maintenance) coz MMS areare fully of bugs and this weeks you won't be able to even finish your missions ,

So I suggest u to say goodbet tanki .

1) Good luck buying (and upgrading) the protections you don't currently have.

 

2) Unless you are a buyer, good luck playing against players who have Drones equipped.

MMS , either getting a new massive rework or get to removed from the game , I just can't finish my missions , maps I don't like to play on + doesn't suit my combo , and fully if bugs , long wait time , invite has a bug , and after final shiny a battle send me to another automatically ? Are this new bug ? And on top of that the team unbalanced even when the MMS main goal is to balance the trams but it doesn't balance anything but making it unbalanced ,

 

Next one does not listen to me I'll stamp his ...  :angry:  :angry: of

My idea is, cuz i see that devs would rather lose all players but buyers than remove MMS, add Battle list for non-PRO battles.

How would this work?

Now in battle there are 16 players (8v8). Make battles and put 14 (or 12) players in. Show that battle in battle list, together with PRO battles. Why? Players join, leave and battle stays uneven. This way players could join those battle from lobby. Also, MMS would also put players in those battles. What do we get?

Players could join battles they want (map, rank brackets).

Battles wont be unfair as now.

This would calm the situation a little.

Battles could also start "full" like now

 

And also, add more maps, not only 5 of them. IF you add Island, don't put 16 players in it, put 8. So it becomes 4v4. If you add Lost Temple, put 32 players in, not only 16.

It can be seen that what was said in the vlog about recruit vs legend was just because of the group is only bluffing, an excuse. They even don't give minimum respect to players. But many players are happy in this way.

this game has really gone dowwnhill since the changes, have to wait 2:00 min and enter a battle for 1:00 min??? All day long might have to give it up!

1) they all unlock at marshal now so... i shoudn't need them at this rank yet. I should get enough crystals to buy them when i reach marshal. 

 

2) I had no problems fighting druggers without drugs... so if i start drugging i shouldn't have to worry about druggers with drones... i hope  :ph34r:

I like the limit to 3 in a group, I was talking about it since the first test of MM. But let us know who are in a Group. and put them against other groups.

 

One important thing shuffle players after they click continue, i think winners of the previous battle, that are likely using the continue button more often, are being sent to the same team in the next battle, thus creating an imbalance. And treat Groups differently in this case so they go to a different battle to fight another Group.

Can some1 explain to me why i have batteries on 1 profile but none on my others?

Profile without batteries - the total value of your modules (before update) is < total value of modules after update.

 

Devs consider you to have been given a bonus by mere fact you kept what you had before.

of course they leave out the part whereby they tripled the value of protections going forward.

 

They set the threshold for receiving batteries very high.

So, can anyone tell me the benifit besides get me really annoyed of MM???

 

Seriously.. This week I got into a few battles where after waiting for 2 minutes i got spawnkilled since i ended up in a patch up team (ergo all went away and i had to go (read, was placed) into a team that was down 6 goals and had an enemy overrun base) battle lasted an amazing half a minute. So much for even teams. Had battles where legends were able to completely destroy ranks that were not even able to buy M3 equipment (hardly even M2) to stand up to full M4 with drugs.

 

And today I wanted to quickly join a battle. You know busy life, kids, work, home e.g. I have waited over 13 minutes before i gave up to get in a battle.. 13 MINS you say? Yes.. i have a screenshot, but I'm old as you guessed and seem to be unable to upload it.. (send me an PM and you can get it).

 

So tanki really? Is this the way to go? You already removed missions from pro battles now this.. How is a person with little time that just want nice even battles to play?
