I hope yall understand no one likes this match making update either restart the game or give up matchmaking

Overdrive really ruins battles. I don't know why only a few are complaining about it.

 

EDIT:

 

Add Magnum and the MisMM. How am I supposed to complete a Finish Top 3 if I am 4 or 5 ranks low?

 

I rarely enjoy the game. I promise that after the celebration I'll take long breaks.

While I am not a fan of the new MMS, I do see some reasons why it should be kept. However, I think many of us would appreciate a few changes to the system.

 

  1. Allow players to access garage while the game mode is gathering players. This would be extremely useful for a number of reasons.
  2. Give a short priview of the map before the game starts. When MMS was on the test servers, I recall there being about a 30 second period before the actual battle began in which players could fight and kill and all of that but not have enough time to do anything substantial. But it allowed for players to see the map and opponants and choose their own tank accordingly. 

Hopefully these ideas will be appreciated, if not, whatever, I don't play that much anymore.

I appreciate your clear list of downsides of the matchmaking system. It reflects what most players have written in this threat. Your list contains many points that surely can be (or need to be) improved, starting with the balance of both teams.

 

Now, let me guess which downside list the devs are going to address and which one will completely ignore? Of course the devs will address the items on the bug-list, not the items on the "what's wrong with mismatchmaking system in general". Why? Because the bugs are just programming and optimizing parameters. Addressing the misMMS would force the devs to admit failure in introducing a new feature to the game. The concept of MM in TO will eventually kill TO if it is kept mandatory for all players.

 

Despite all of this, I appreciate your personal reply. It's not the moderators of this forum that is the target of my wrath, it's the devs and the management. Please, moderators. Please relay the frustration and disappointment of the players who has taken the time to write to this chain. I ask this because we do not have any idea if our rants get any further than this forum.

Please anyone tell me how waiting for over 1 minute to play in a 10 minute game is better than the old system.  10% of playing TANKI is not actually playing TANKI its just waiting to play! Make maychmaker a choice give us the ability to creat our own battles free of charge and make the battles longer than 10 minutes. What happened to the old battles of playing for over an hour? now those were exciting.

Drones, battery packs and new module system. This is the big innovation of the Tanki developers. A big Thank you. But unfortunately this does not work along with MM games.  You have given new life and strategy options to the game and in the same time you took it away with MM playing. Hope you will reconsider to have MM as an option. Now that things are getting interesting.

Will drones increase my railgun DMG ? I've heard in the blog they will increase your power and stuff .
That would be amazing .

10 minutes battle .
1minute to 1.5 minutes to enter a battle mean the 10 minutes battle become 9 mintuea , 1 minute to enter the garage ckz they will send u to a a battle where ur cobo does not suit the battle (map,mode) which mean 7 minutes left , in this 3 mibtues u spent ur team will Lose almost all the battle then a few minutes left that a magun will kill u eveytime u respwan coz almost all times I enter a battle a higher ranked player are playing with me .
In tot I simple can't finish my mission from about 2 weeks .

Got dumped into this battle yesterday, group invite thing was broken so that's no excuse for this match-up....

Then made simple spreadsheet showing each participants experience, drugs usage and Efficiency Value and Place...

The rows down the bottom of the spreadsheet show how much of a disadvantage my team had. We had a disadvantage on every rating you'd expect a Matchmaking system to at least use one of when trying to place players in balanced teams.

  • The difference in experience and drug usage of both teams is pretty big.
  • 6 players in battle with over 2million experience, five of them in enemy team.
  • 4 players in battle that have used less than 20k drugs..Three of them in my team.
  • 8 players in battle that have used more than 40k drugs..Five of them in enemy team.
  • 7.3million experience points difference between teams, enough for 4 and a half legends worth of experience...which translates into a heck of a lot of crystals used to buy far more equipment options for the enemy team, I assume.

In summary, matchmaking system is simplistic and needs work. It could have at least swapped two players from each team to make it more balanced once the participants were picked from the queue.

 

Also, the AFK inactives in battles are happening way too often, an autokick system is needed to support MM :rolleyes:.

I think the system is bring players that clicked 'continue' from previous battles, and I believe most of the players that click 'continue' are those from the winning team. In other words the system could be matching Winners against new Randoms.

 

That's why I'm suggesting the for the system to shuffle players for a new battle, and that a Group be put to fight a team with another Group. Also, we should know who are from a Group. Transparency or we'll lose faith in the system.

waiting .. and then join the game with one min to end....

Why when I choose continue system putt me to another map... again wrong team.( if I want be blue... example)

I can assure you that we do. We gather feedback weekly, if not daily, and pass it on to the CM, who in turn relays the feedback to higher up.

There is a sign that the devs are considering the removal of Matchmaking (MM)... after not playing MM for days, my weekly mission progress has not been reset, as they are probably trying to determine the damage that they may have done with this roll-out of MM, and in fairness are trying to give players a chance to retain mission progress, whether, or not, they keep MM.

 

I will reiterate an earlier post... If you want the devs to scrap MM and return the game to a fairer, more enjoyable status, you must vote with your voice in Forum...

Good ideas. What I have done is I have played only a few times after the MM was introduced. And I have quit playing completely. I am not looking forward to the drone and protection module downgrades and what changes they made to my garage. Instead, I spend my time here in forum complaining the wrongs that the devs and managers have thrown to our faces.

This was changed in a previous update. Since that update, it's no longer possible to lose your mission chain even if you skip one or more days.

I think a lot of people (me included) rely it on a lot for Daily Missions in ASL/CTF/RGB and like the kill streak / rage mode aspect, so few complaints. Although I don't really know why I don't have a problem with Overdrive but hate Supplies.

 

I'd tweak it though. Can only share it with one other player. 10% chance of self-destruction if you share it with another player (they get the Overdrive, but you die). I'd fix the runaway problem for the winning team being able to use it more often than the losing team by linking charging to driving / moving, which would discourage camping.

 

MM is still infuriating at times. I'm not that fussy about maps, but having a run of battles on maps you used to avoid isn't much fun.

Now I'm beginning to get gun shy about clicking on a battle. I've been sent to a fair amount of battles with Majors, Lt. Colonels and Colonels. I can go against Majors, but above that, I'm cannon fodder. For the first time, I was sent to a battle with several Brigadiers. I would never, ever choose a battle like that. I would have to be insane or a mult. That's exactly how I felt. You can bet your booty I left. Tanki would have to give me 10,000 crystals each time I died for me to stay in a battle like that. Being one shotted repeatedly and not being able to do much damage is not what I call fun. 

If the above quote isn't bad enough, now MMS wants me to battle Lt. Generals. How idiotic does MMS think I am? Oh, wait....MMS doesn't think. Someone else is doing the thinking. 

 

When the MMS was first discussed, it sounded plausible. Many players were excited about it. Looking forward to it, even. But this anticipation was built on a description that is not even remotely akin to what we were given. Mods tell us it's still in the development stage. Why the heck give birth to a 6 month old fetus that is barely viable? Let it stay in the womb for the full 9 months. These Devs make lousy Gynecologists. No, now wait a moment. This isn't a naturally conceived baby, it's a Test Tube Baby. What the Devs have done is to say, " Let's go ahead and activate the heart. We'll give it a head, arms and legs later. Oh, the brains. Yes, we need to work on that, too."  

 

Some of the problems we are having were obvious problems before it was given birth. The ranking gap is one of them. Did the Devs actually think that battling players 6 ranks above was going to be okey? Mods say this is something they are working on. This should have been looked at before the birth.
