Mod Poll/Petition

Ok so my idea is simple and I think that it will end up helping the game in the long run if implemented.

So, it obvious that some Forum Helpers(I'll refer to them as FH's) are better and easier to work with than others. And a lot of players think that the reason tanki is dying is that the FH's will not listen to players nearly enough as they should.

My Idea is that we add a new section titled "Forum Feedback," In that section, there would be multiple subsections in which players(must be WO1 or above) can help to evaluate the forum.

They could create topics that evaluate the FH's which could also conduct polls reaching to everyone on the forum(to do this when someone logged into the forum the poll would pop up and they would answer the question) whether they think that that specific FH should stay and FH. The developers could then look at this information and the demands of the people on the forum to either fire that FH or give that FH a warning.

This idea would better help represent the players who feel like every idea is being shut down by FH's and that they don't have the ability to get their idea out to the public

First of all, I assure you that the quality of the forum is not the reason why the game is "dying", so even if we had a perfect forum with zero issues whatsoever, it would not help Tanki gain more players, since forum is not such an important feature. It's useful and interesting, but not something the game heavily depends on.

Second, we do not allow public criticism of any helpers. If you have a complain about a specific forum moderator, you should send it to the forum administrator, @CooperO, via PM. Whether or not someone deserves to stay as forum mod should not depend on a single poll - that's just absurd. The administrator is the only one to evaluates each helper and makes decisions to keep/remove certain individuals.

If you have a complaint about how certain ideas are being processed, feel free to send me a PM, and I will discuss with you whether or not a particular idea has been evaluated incorrectly. We try our best to make sure your ideas reach developers by thoroughly discussing each idea amongst ourselves, making reports with a list of best ideas and merging ideas into existing topics to keep the forum organised.

This could also be abused, if a mod was disliked for doing their job correctly, they would be voted more negatively and therefore losing their position for no reason. However i do agree that some mods are not good enough :D

No, maf you must have completely misunderstood this idea, all this does is RATE the mods, it doesn't completely force them to lose their position just because of a poll. The reason for this was to get the players' opinion out into the public on how specific mods are LISTENING to the players.

Oh and also maf about that part where you said "I'm sure tanki isn't dying because of the quality of the forum" is actually false. Go ahead and take a look at the player's opinions in the game discussion titled "how can tanki be succesful," on that discussion by far the most dominant opinion is that people are leaving tanki because the devs and mods will not listen to or consider players opinons enough prior to putting up updates.

Here is what you are saying - players dislike the game because they dislike the forum.

What is actually happening - players are dissatisfied with the game and complain on the forum.

These are two different things.

Onion, I'm not sure that you really understood the meaning of this suggestion

Players feel like mods are not listening to them nearly enough as they should, and that when new updates are scheduled to come out(matchmaking is a great example) the mods don't take into consideration what the players have to say. For example in matchmaking when they scheduled it, they literally said "Any topics about adjusting matchmaking will be deleted, posts about matchmaking will be accepted after the update is released." And now that the update has been released the players literally cannot do anything, beacuse when they post somthing against matchmaking, it technically violates the "Ideas and Suggestions rules" because they say you cannnot post topics about "The reversal of previous updates."

So now the people who wanted to rage war against matchmaking are completely shut out of suggestion anything to reverse it, and the funny thing is, is that they we're shut out even before May 29th when matchmaking came. They we're shut out of the whole "Under Review" process while players when players are supposed to be obligated to post feedback

It will be declined because the game currently is based to a monarchic/dictatorship system and we cant do anything about it

well... some parts of the EN forums do make me hate tanki...

on the other hand, some parts of the RU forums do make me like tanki..

The topics are closed because there is an entire thread dedicated to matchmaking in the news section. It already has 89 pages of posts after only like ~3 days of being open.

Just like @Maf did in this topic, forum moderators carefully explain under the original post why the suggestion isn't possible. For example, an idea or suggestion may: ruin the economy, make the game unbalanced or even violates the rules.

Omygosh, dude I literally said that whole post wasn't about matchmaking, it was about the devs not listening, stop dodging what I said.

You included matchmaking as your only example.

And contrary to what you might think, weekly reports of complaints, valid suggestions, etc, are sent to the developers. The mods don't have to acknowledge everything you say in order for it to be reported.

I think I'll wait for HTML5 to be released before releasing my thoughts on MM. The one thing I don't get is why they didn't delay MM release date until after they release HTML5.

HTML5 is technically released. Working on it is a gradual process, apparently.

I asked nives this question, and he said that it was delayed in favor of juggernaut and mobile.

Released in the sense that you can play it. It is however, lacking in optimization and has many rough edges.

Ah, I see. It's just sneaky that they never announced it to release it like this.
