There are many instances where players write a normal word in their own language using Latin characters, but it gets censored. It would be very unfair to such players if they got banned when they didn't actually violate any rules. The automatic flood bans are already bad enough as is...

I remember one time I was helping answering some questions in the lobby chat, and while I was typing, my dog stuck her face on my number pad and I didn't notice it until it was too late, I pressed enter. Result: I got a five minute ban. :lol:

Both systems have their advantages and disadvantages. Obviously with chat mods there's possibility of human error, but there is also the advantage of having human reasoning and ability to judge the situation as a whole. For example, if players swear in chat because of a bad update that's making it impossible for them to play, a chat mod won't ban them right away since their anger is understandable. But an automated system will instantly ban the player and make their mood even worse.
