The newspaper has ran 2 surveys within the last 4 years which collated feedbacks from a very large pool of players. The results haven't been published unfortunately. They provided the Newspaper team with many useful information that have reinforced the current editorial line and also shown some areas for improvement. It is a good pool of readers, more reliable than the quick analysis from Magenta. Furthermore the Newspaper has an ideal and wants to cover not only mainstream but other points that are useful to less readers. If we listen to only one type of readers we should have only contests in the Newspaper.

All your points are valid as it concerns your feelings, but your are not the only reader of the Newspaper. Players wants direction and advises on product kits. You can contribute after an article is published in the Newspaper or give your strong opinion there: Let's Discuss Product Kits

This is not about that anymore. He removed one of my posts containing my critisms of his selective way of accepting judgements. I do not believe anything i said in that post ws against the rules. Therefore I have been asking him in PM why exactly that post of mine was removed. He keeps replying me with the same answer than I was deliberately trying to start a fight even though the part of my post he uses to justify that was clearly directed towards him and him only whereby not only did i only quote his post to reply, i even called out his name twice. Now he's replying me every 2 days and all he does suote his same reply over and over again.

I already told him that if he doesn't tell me how i was breaking the rules i will make the same mistake over and over again (i make sure i will). Yet he still continues to use his irrevelant explanatuion that me saying how he was selective about the kind of judgements was actually deliberately fueling a fight even though it makes no sense.

If that post of mine was indeed against the rules and had to be hidden then i will accept it but for now he won't even explain it. So until he does i can't understand how i was wrong and i will make sure i do the same thing until he explains it.

basically, when i ask him which part of my post are you talking about? why do you think it fuels a fight? he just quotes some random part and says . This clearly shows you are trying to start a fight.

and when i say it is clear that I am adressing you and you only. so no one should have any buisness to comment. and even so, it is not starting a fight. I am simply pointing out that you're biased and don't accept critisms saying that they are not constructive even though you have no problems with praises that are equally non constructive..

he just waits 2 days and repeats the same crap.

Peace,

Good point.  @GuidoFawkes:  I kinda don't really care for kit reviews since I am not saving for M3 kits as a WO2.  I don't need the equipment and I can't buy it either.  So I guess you could just ignore it or send another guide to AWS.  Hopefully, it's good and the Reporters let you publish it.

P.S.  How'd this turn into a full-on fight again?

Then keep this in PM.

I gave you my opinion on the newspaper bit, but the rest is not my remit. If you are not sure who moderates what, have a look at the post about section curators.

Guido, is the point which you want to make that in this shortage of writers unpopular articles are lessening the number of articles most people want to read and thus shortening the newspaper? If so, then I totally agree.

Also, without any survey, it is clear that people without forum accounts enlarge the difference between popular articles and unpopular guides.

And one last point- There are so many kits that a guide relating to just one is justified in being unpopular.

Guides to playing in maps, those relating to use of many combinations of equipment instead of one, etc. attract more views and should be more focussed on.

To sum it up reporters should focus on popular topics and leave the rest for noobs like me to write. :P

i have already made my point that they should think of different ideas and not repeat kit reviews every issue.

now the point I am trying to make is that the reporters (their biggest one in particular) is being selective about the comments. They accept non constructive praises posted on every issue, but when someone gives critism, they come up with a stupid excuse to delete it and to prove it's stupid, they can't justify their reason. Also, as you can see, they aso try and divert critism to the topic newspaper suggestions because "that is the correct topic" even though i have never heard of people who ask for more reviews being directed there.

This whole thing about not listening to constructive critism is why they don't know what excatly is wrong with the articles.

Because they are helpers they have the ability to delete any post pointing out their flaws and this is one more way for them to hide their flaws.

I have been playing since 2014 on many different accounts and one thing I have learned is that the helpers hate to admit mistakes if its not an error in details. So just take their diversion to PMs and other topics as an apology and just move on. Lets focus on the major issue instead of focussing on the helper's egos.

The helpers side is not being as calm and cool as it usually is. They are not even writing oks and amks. (lame joke) Guess a few nives will help arm Guido. :P

I will reply to you last time because at this point it's absolutely pointless to discuss this with you any further. Basically, you have only your own truth, and only your opinion is correct (at least that's what you present here).

It does not matter who do you direct the post at, whether it's me or reporter or forum user or group of users, you are not here to accuse people of things that you have no proof, like calling them liars because they have different opinion or provoking conflicts. I already explained to you that you are always free to "provoke discussion", but what you enjoy most is just provoking conflicts.

You say that I am selective about comments, and that I only accept praises, but as far as I know, the criticism I and others received in past and even criticism in this topic (even from you) was not hidden and is clearly visible which is something many can confirm. We also never said, we are ignoring your criticism or that we think only our opinion is right. You provided your comments, I reacted to them and provided my opinion. That's how discussion works, but I guess you have different opinion on that.

I also told you that if you want to make a comment, whether it's praise or criticism, you are always welcome to do so, but it should not contain provocative parts that are simply just accusations standing on no ground.

And as for me replying to you in 2 days, I believe I also explained that as well. I am volunteer, I have a real job that I must attend to for living so I can't always just sit here  all day and read and reply to what some person said. When I have time I get to you.

But flexoo, you can't deny the fact that this newspaper edition was short with respect to articles that gain interest. Most people would rather watch a kit gameplay than read the player's experience and if you feel the need to have such an article in the newspaper, then why not add it as an extra? An addition article won't do any harm but using it to fill space where there could have been a better one is bad and compromises the length of the paper.

I'm not sure you understand how hard it is to just make articles. They require time to think up of ideas they think will be enjoyed by people for next issue, it needs to run through a clearing phase, then it needs to be researched, drafted, edited by them, edited by them again, edited by reporters, put pictures in, and make finishing touches before it goes out. As Flex said we (I used to be a reporter) are volunteers, and do this because we enjoy it, but we have other things to do. It is hard to put out multiple articles a month, especially with the smaller staff on hand. Side note: I have no idea what you said in the last sentence, so I did not respond to that.

That's the way you behave here

I already told you from the start that if you'd like me to  discuss with you further in PM then you'd better react to me in PM as quickly as you're reacting to me here. when i saw it wasn't i came back here.

I did not accuse them, whatever opinions i had of them were clearly my opinions about them.

The post which you hid was excatly the critism about how you were being biased. And the reason you gave for hiding it was that i was trying to start a fight. yet when i asked how, you couldn't reply.

okay, you just said you'll reply to me for the last time? that means our PM is over.. and by the fact that you still have not explained how calling you out for being biased to comments based on the difference in your reactions to critisms and praises was trying to start a fight.. I will make sure i continue posting posts like that for you.

btw the mods you said will take care of me have done soo much haven't they? all they told me was to keep it in PM butyou just showed you'll not continue the PM so...

What I mean is that reporters should think of new ideas. It feels like they are using the same old ideas to make new articles. In the article regarding the kit, the same phrases are being used again and again "the module gives protection against two major turrets twins and thunder twin and thunder..." and it makes you think that twins and thunder are the only turrets in the game. Even the reporter realised that the article will be small if he writes the details once. Let the article be small, but also make another short article to compensate the length. People were saying the photos were less even though they were enough for the article but not the extended one. Also people would like to know about turret and hull combos, so there was no need for the paint and module part.

I admit it was beautifully written, but the content matters more if it is a guide.

I am locking this topic until further notice because we have clearly lost decorum. We cannot have civil discussion if we are throwing mud at each other. This kind of chaotic debate is certainly not tolerated in other sections of the forum and it will not be tolerated in the Newspaper Section. I encourage all parties involved to step away and consider how they behaved in this topic and take necessary precautions to prevent this from happening again.

I think enough time has passed, the topic has been reopened. Let this be a lesson in proofreading; not only should you consider grammar, but also how your comments reflect your behavior.

Lets leave the problem. But don't refrain me from it if there's a shortage of articles in the next issue due to some unpopular guide. They are beautifully written, but its just too boring to read.

You may also widen your range of selections from AWS and AWS archive.

so now that PM still isn't an option and this topic is reopened but my post is still removed while you still haven't explained why...

all you have to do is explain my mistake so i won't repeat it in the next issue.

K I can understand sometimes.  But not always.  There are truly nice people out there.

I think you were just making the news people offended.  They can really take away your post for any reason (but that doesn't mean they do)
