Update Priorities: More Players Enjoy vs Fixed Game

 Share

Recommended Posts

Updates that are meant for players to enjoy the game: These updates are simply to keep players in the game and hopefully try increasing the number of people online every day. These updates are usually completely new features and events. Examples include: New Game Modes, Holiday Events, New Turrets/Maps, Clans

Updates that are meant to fix the game (game economy, the difficulty of game): These updates are simply there because its what the developers think should be reasonable so that the game isn't too easy. These updates usually receive lots of negative feedback since the players do not enjoy them, but the developers for some reason think they are necessary. Examples include: Paints --> Modules, Match-Making, Only Non-Pro for Missions, Premium Accounts, Legend Rank

Personally, I feel like the developers should stop worrying about make the game challenging and instead make it appeal for the players The most recent updates in the TO Decline (past 3 years) has been updates that made players angry, but made developers happy. As you can see, no one plays Tanki anymore despite all these new updates, simply because the updates are going the wrong direction. TO needs more new stuff instead of trying to make the game harder to play...

I feel like the developers should just focus on increasing the number of players playing the game. Updates are necessary, but make them so that its something players can only possibly enjoy the new update, or just ignore the update.

I do not agree. They actually are giving too many updates not or not too much regarding the actual fixing of the game.

Along with that, my example is a incomplete implement of the clan system and undone promises about it, yet players paying over 25€ for the only few things like a personalized tag before their nickname, a more-simpler-couldn't-be clan chat, clan battles which are just pro-battles with a simple restriction of not allowing players of different clans into same team.. and what did I forget.. yeah, ability to put your clan logo and editing text in clan profile using HTML, a thing 90% of Tanki players don't know what is it.

Updates meant to fix the game are reasonable for one reason: fixing the game, matterless making the game more or less difficult. These are the updates meant to keep the players.

Before you have had to know how much protection a paint has, now it clearly shows. Before you had to look for the flag, now it clearly shows.

I don't know other players' tastes, but I like more challenging games and a lot of things to explore.

If I find a game interesting, it's mostly because of its genre and unique gameplay, mechanics and worlds to explore.

Challenging doesn't mean overpowered experienced players on their alternate accounts, 100% supply boosts and recently unfair and complicated gameplay on mobile devices versus computers.

This whole reply is all in the mess, but you get it.

Both Points are valid, BUT, the main idea from the Players is Matchmaking SUCKS!!!!!!!

If a player wants to have matchmaking, let it be optional

You can play PRO battles.

Exactly!

The amount of pro battles have increased aswell; currently lots of them are supplies-enabled though, I hope people will realize that using supplies is stupid because everyone does it; wasting consumables just to break even with the enemy while you have the option to disable them entirely! I am not sure these kind of pro battles are created by those who do it out of protest against MM or they're new to the options themselves or just hardcore druggers.

Anyway.. hopefully it'll lean more towards no supplies and no overdrives in the long run.. those are the best battles. It's stupid to be paying 5000 crystals a month for a pro pass and still enter games that feature supply usage.

I like this new matchmaking system, puts me in a raid of constant battles. It's a good experience in combination with the better rewards.

Most of the time it works within 5 seconds. The teams are not too bad and I already got used to the fact that I can't make my own map decisions.

Stop Stop Stop, I'm not complaing about Matchmaking. I'm complaining about all of the updates that made the game HARDER, and LESS ENJOYABLE FOR EVERYONE.

When things get harder and less enjoyable, players tend to leave.

You mean Magnum addition, drones and hull overdrives? These updates make the game harder for sure.

Yeah, these are pretty good examples. What's the point of having these updates if they are going to make players frustrated and leave the game? Sure, these are new and will refresh the game, but TO is already a very hard game, making it harder will just make people want to quit.
