Drones, Batteries and Modules Update

I have not thought through the whole drones thing yet because I have not bought any to see 1st hand how they work.  I have looked at teh MU tables and done some cost value comparisons as you saw. So any opinions I have now are subject to change as new info arrives. :)

 

But so far I agree with your basic strategy for free players.  You keep the drone back in the garage except for key moment when a little extra something -something might make a difference. In those situation you burn up the free mission batteries, thus converting them from a warehoused item into cash. {ching!}

 

Unless you convert your batteeries into battle performance you are not getting full value from your weekly payouts. Fortunately the drone buy-in cost is small.  For 20k you ca buy a drone. For about 16k more you can buy 20% of it's MU potential.  IOW for 1.6% of the cost you can buy 20% of the total. So for 36k or so you can have a drone to use up the batteries yu do not want.  That is a low cost way to get something from the drone system.

 

 

I want to see what teh re-equipping cool down will be for Drones.  Can I equip it, then un-equip it just 1 minute later?  Or will I be forced to keep it active for a 5 minute cool down window? 

 

If the is a 5 minute minimum that is another reason to look at your 'last 2-3 minutes of a close battle' criterion for useage. :)

Have tested this. Equipped the Drone and used it for about 30 seconds then went to garage and I could un-equip it....the 5 minute cooldown starts from when you equip the Drone, but you can still unequip it....So if you equip it, use it for 2 minutes then un-equip it, you then have 3 minutes cooldown stopping you from re-equipping it.

 

No idea if that cooldown is for that particular Drone and you can equip another Drone type in that time, I assume so cos if not, that don't make no sense.

I'd like a simple tick box option in the Drone section of the Garage that allows me to automatically un-equip Drones at the end of battle(or not). Otherwise I could be hitting continue battle button & be put into the next battle and use a battery at the start without wanting to. There are probably ways to avoid this, but they're not as convenient as a simple tick box.

So my objectives for the next 6-8 months is ... nothing. Just throw money on the pile. - You can enjoy the MMS till New Year in Tanki will come with a serious sale for you. If I remember correctly, you said some days ago what good update is for you this MMS.

 

These are a couple of the problems with the conversion.  It's left a big hole in the General officer ranks.  And it has treated different accounts so drastically different no honest person can all the results "fair" or "wise" - You make me cry listening to you...

I wasted batteries trying to use it.  :mellow:

And I lost BP (and then crystals) when I unequipped it because I had to self. :(

Confirmation: expensive, useless and not player friendly. But I knew all of this already : :ph34r:

My idea is quite simple. Add a drone, which gives your tank 4 drones, 2 on the right and 2 on the left. These drones fire a shaft laser like beam which does 10 damage per drone, which is 40 damage per second.

I think it's best to wait for the other 9 drones to be released and then post suggestions for more drones. Besides, a "support" drone is already planned to be one of the future 9.

Have tested this. Thanks for the test drive report. That is interesting. It seems fair enough that you can turn it off (un-equip) but then needto wait out te cool down to re-equip.

 

The tick box is a fine example of Little Things that could make the interface so much smoother. In the case of batteries it is very important to prevent unwanted abttery consumption.

Not user friendly with TT's tick box suggestion in response to that issue.

 

I know I will buy a drone sometime to check it out. Right now my hunch is those things will remain a marginal help ... until MUed to full or close to it. Then maybe we will be having to watch out.

 

Cumbersome system regardless.

The MM system deos work out better for me.  Thje module changes are due to the module update not to the MM update. So I don't see your point.

 

I don't really are if you cry or not. The point is it makes no sense for the conversion process to be a major boon to one account and a major impediment to a different account. And the game designers should understand that the rank ladder is rather barren in the General Officer section. Most young players like you do not have the attention span to wait out a 9 month period with no development options.

 

But hell it's not my game. And I am used to planning n year long of multi=year periods.

thought i posted this already but dont see it...how about a very short time frame for everyone to get to test the new drones and batteries. I think allowing this will help make them more popular and drive more sales. you can make them missions, like kill 20 tanks get 1 hour drone test same with batteries so we could get both missions and test them. Or give every player 1 hour try try each drone or  1 battle to try each drone with 3 batteries or 6 batteries or whatever...would make players more comfortable, make us understand how they are used and see the benefits thus driving more sales!

HOLY CRAP

it is not possible to play CP at all now... Just faced a clan where everyone of them had engineer fully MUed... and because of the modules update they sent the people who were protected against me to capture the point i could fire at...

I was nothing but a liability for my team...

I hate to do this but I'm gonna have to finally start drugging. If i finish up my drugs and can't get enough from missions then I'm afraid...

just wait until you play CP you face a clan where everyone has fully MUed engineer drone... and they send the correct people with the correct modules to capture each point..

When you see Viking4s and GuidoFawkes criticize the recent updates, you know things are pretty bad.

just wait until you play CP you face a clan where everyone has fully MUed engineer drone... and they send the correct people with the correct modules to capture each point..

Sounds very on the point.

 

But maybe, players like you and me are not the target group of the drone/battery system.

IMHO I believe that drones are very useful for players that buy batteries by money, equip their favourite drone of choice and enjoy the higher power without needing to think about when to activate which drug.

 

The way it is implemented now it looks like a feature

- where you pay for convenience and power

- but that you can only keep powered up by money

 

 

And exactly this makes me think why they refunded exceeding protections by adding batteries to the players accounts.

Non-buyers can not keep that up-and-running; and buyers do not need to be given thousands of batteries.. they would try to buy them anyways.

 

On the other hand.. what else can you refund to a buyer, that owns already sooo many protections that his garage was exceeding the new protection prices? There is not much left, except batteries and supplies..

Why stop with the modules?

Each paint can be split to different colors that each costs crystals.

Each hull needs wheels and chains that can be bought separately and upgraded for speed, an engine that can be upgraded for power and a shift gear for acceleration.

Each turret needs ammunition to fire, oil that can be upgraded for better rotation and a cleaning team so it will not stuck during battle.

 

I have many more brilliant ideas to keep the game interesting, but with no players. Just message me.

I think that most of the annoyance can be solved by upgrading 3 modules together. The price will be the upgrade of the highest MUed module.

So If you want to upgrade 45% rail + 43% rico + 21% hammer, the price for MUing all three together will be the price of 45% to 46%.

I think you are right in way, I'm not the target, however I have batteries to use.

The way TO refund and implement was not what my comment was about. I gave a feedback, my feedback on the drone (I bought Assault).

 

I tried all of them in the test server with high rank and unlimited supplies. I wanted to see if it would be the same on the game.

But I have not finished the trial I still have lots of batteries (x300) on another account.

It's a big mess now and it's a little late for some things.

 

I'm not going to say my ideas where implemented, but I was suggesting a change similar the new battle rewards. Then the new module system is very close to one of my and other's ideas that we were talking about it for sometime, but since it was not a very good idea at the end I was offering alternatives.

 

I also said Drones were going to be bad from day one, while many of you were defending it.

As I read in the Ideas section for about 4 years now, I'd like to note that the proposals to change modules into the way they work now; as well as ideas about more balanced fund and it's beneficial effects on the game (balanced by means of earnings per teams, balanced by means of earnings per maps) are already around for a very, very long time.

 

So while I would doubt that your ideas were implemented, -> I _do_ think that it helps if those ideas come again and again from different persons; each one thinking of potential impacts and outcomes.

 

On one hand those duplicates definitely give prove of what players - old ones and new ones - think would make their game better.

And on the other hand: repeated drops hollow stones ;)

 

 

(the late introduction of the feature; the conversion of the garage.. all those are very controversial discussion topics. But the new protection feature itself is really, really handy)

Who knows, but I was complaining about battle funds while at the same time telling about my idea in the last months.

 

Maybe later I'll tell what the issues with the new module system are apart from the fixable interface and functions.

How bad? Bad for whom, for what? You don't own a drone and you don't intend to use one.

Exactly. Even when i try using it game crashed. I just lost around 5 batteries for useless effect. I hope other 9 drones will be better and generally drones will be improved.

engineer has become the meta for clans in CP... it's still not too late to buy it and fully MU it with the sales...

I'm not saying they have to implement it, it's their game, their business. I'm just sharing what I think could be better.

 

Devs probably don't care about what we say or do and who knows if mods communicate sincerely our feedbacks bypassing their own bias, not all mods of course.

 

Their could be biases because many mods are Legends and they probably like new things to be implemented without caring for others or for balance. Or like when the Module update many that had 4 or 5 M3+ modules were going to get the new Module system for free. There is a possibility that they don't report what they see a threat to their self interest, and for the same reason they defend it.
