Captured Flag --> Reduced Time

Often, battles are set at 999:59 for the time and I really want to play on this specific map but the battle is too long for me to get my funds, and often, some guy at the end on the winning team will get 20k crystals for 100 points...

 

I feel like that for every captured flag, the battle timer should reduce the amount of time there is left. 

 

This can help with a lot of problems. For example, sometimes a team will be one flag away from winning and they purposely don't capture so they can have more fun spawn killing the opponents or so they can take the opponent's fund by making them rage-quit. Now, if a team is 1 flag away, then the battle will probably already be almost over. 

 

Or, a 999:59 minute battle could now be instead a 1 hour battle. 

 

Anyways, this is an example of how much time could be reduced potentially:

 

<30 minute ---> -1 minute/flag

30 - 60 minute ---> -2 minute/flag

60 - 120 minute --> -4 minute/flag

120-600 minute --> -10 minute/flag

>600 minute --> -20 minute/flag

Separate settings for time and flags exist for a reason. If you want to play for a set amount of time - you set a timer. if you want to capture a certain number of flags - you set a flag limit. If you want either flags or time - you set both. If you want the game to end when teams are unbalanced - enable autofinish. Having one depend on the other will only make things complicated and confusing.

Problem is that too many timed battles go on until server restart (999:59 battles). I could just join a shorter battle but I want more action. Flag limits don't work when everyone else on the other team are mean and leave 1 flag left. When teams are unbalanced, that's because a lot of players already rage quit, which is the exact opposite of what tanki needs. When people leave 1 flag left, they are trying to get others to rage quit. Plus, it's not that confusing.

So why not create your own battle with the time limit you find most comfortable?

Cause no one ever joins :(

Because people probably like longer battles. So by that logic, no one except for a few people like you would actually welcome such a change that shortens their long battles.
