Monetization using ads

Okay well, with the battery and drone update it's becoming more and more obvious that....

 

The DEVS are wanting more money

 

The approach that I am suggesting is that tanki goes in a different approach to make more money, one that does not frustrate all the non-buyers, this approach is.... ADS

 

Now I've drawn some rough calculations as to how this whole thing would work, basically if tanki wanted to right now switch to ads, it would effectively replace to buying system. And even more, the devs would actually be able to add more updates that were not possible in the buying system.

 

Okay here's my proposal, so google Adsense will pay companies(websites) to place their adds on their site and will pay them per click. Now the price per click varys based on how popular the website is, so for this website, it'd probably be around .25 cents per click(actually a heck of a lot more because of search statistics and just because of the sheer amount of people that log onto the game every single day).

 

Okay now around 50,000 people go onto the tanki website every single day(again probably a lot more than that), and a lot of people use the client, but we'll just include that in the group of people logging in to the website.

 

So if everyday half on those people, 25,000 click on at least one add then tanki would make $6,250 USD each day because 25,000*.25(cost per click) = 6,250. So if there are 365 days in a year then tanki makes roughly 2.3 million each year.

-loading screen with big ad

-billboards only for tanki buyers

-news tab with some small ad

Ads ruin the look of any game. They're good for websites and small projects like mobile games, but for a game like Tanki they won't generate that much revenue, while ruining the clean look of the interface.

If tanki decides to use google's "heat map" it actually won't ruin the interface at all, the only thing tanki needs to do is figure out all the numbers, I wouldn't even mind if tanki just put ads on the test server first.

 

I promise you, ads will not slow down tanki's revenue, it'll speed it up if it gives them more room and money to put more updates that the players like

Ehh, Ads.
I hate it when you have adblock on. The website detects it and blocks you from entering the website useless you turn it off. 
And then there's pop up ads.
I wouldn't want to see those on tanki -_-

Well here's the thing, we'll be sure that tanki does NOT use any pop up ads, and we'll also make sure they are complient with using googles "Heat Map" to ensure maximum results and also to not make anyone mad (:

 

Throughout the whole thing in tanki's transition if this ever happens, we (the players on the forum)will make sure tanki listens to the players and we'll be posting hefty criticism of it throughout the whole thing(like I said, IF it happens)

There's billboards in all maps or near all maps . Now they are used for nothing or sometimes they get a special thing when its like tanki birthday . Why not rent them out ? This does not ruin the game , since they are in the maps and there is only a name written on it . It wont bring so much revenue , but it does not interphere with the gameplay / looks etc ...
