Team spirit diminishing in Tanki

I have been playing off and on for quite some time.  Before the most recent update you could get a sense of who you were playing with and against.  This was conducive to friendships being made and certainly a feeling of team and usually team work.

Now with this latest update and the shorter duration of games, there is no teamwork.  If fact there is almost an adversarial attitude even on your own team.  It's every player for themselves.  There have always been rude players, but not like this.

It is impossible to connect with any player since you will be off their team in a matter of minutes and you will probably never be in a battle with them again.  You could invite them to be a friend if you even notice someone you are playing with or against, but what then?  They just become a name on a useless list.

Besides all the other things that matchmaking has taken away from Tanki, interaction of the community may not be as appearant, but it will become more clear as time goes on.  Shame on the developers for their shortsightedness and for doing what they have done to what was once a really fun and interactive game.

I will continue to play Tanki once in awhile, but even less than before.  Why bother?  I don't like the long waits to go into a battle on the losing team with only a couple of minutes left and then have another long wait to do the same thing again.  Especially when there is no connection, at all, between any of the players now.

You people should get a developer that actually plays and likes Tanki because the fools that have done this to the game obviously have no clue as to what the game is, or was, like to play.

I posted this earlier and the thread was closed in a few hours which smacks of utter censorship.  Your game is imploding and all you can think to do is shut people up.  This topic is not about matchmaking, it is about the loss of comradeship and friends and getting to know players within battles and how that seems to have changes.

people are probably just trying to finish their missions as quickly as possible so they don' have time to care about anything else.

I suppose you could still get your friendship in pro battles

Exactly as this guy said I myself hate matchmaking as I'm often stuck with m4s and I hate the 15min matches.I only care about finishing my missions which take ages when fighting m4's and then play pro battles where I actually talk and make friends.

I agree to these sentances only

Why doesn't Tanki add a Win/Loss ratio next to the K/D one? Maybe then players will work harder as a team to secure the win and maintain their Win/Loss ratio. Tanki X did this..And I see more team spirited players there than on TO.

I would actually disagree with parts of this. THis game is made of young ppl mostly, so there is always going to be some who cant talk and some who just rage or taunt. However, I have been having so much fun with my clan and occassionally meet some other good ppl around. If you want a smaller community, play a specific format. Play lots of polygon CP and you will meet repeating players

This is probably good advise.  The ProBattle circuit is, most likely, about the same as it was before MM.  Maybe even more lively and I would guess much of the negative social aspects that have been brought about by MM are not in ProBattles.

The sad part is that this lack of "team" in standard battles is just one more thing that takes away part of the fun in Tanki.  Most players still need to play Standard battles to complete missions so they have to put up with un-fun.
