Add more module slots, possibly limit the total % protection

My original idea needs to be refined.

 

I think we don't need a feature to adjust resistance values for the slots, we can adjust them ourselves when upgrading each slot.

Your proposed system treats every turret the same - we could not prioritize any of them.  Don't think I like that.

There are certain protections I use way more than others - and this system would not allow me to upgrade them faster.

 

Example... Vulcan user would want to upgrade fire module faster than many of the other protections.  This would slow that upgrade down.

 

 

Plus - I don't think there's been any demonstration of how you convert existing individual protections to this proposed system... is there?

I have been playing Tanki for 5 years. I love the game very much and have invested a lot of money into your great game.
 
I would like to make a suggestion for you please:
 
There are 14 Turrets in the game now, it makes it much harder to survive in battles.
 
The number of protections to equip was up to 4 when it was in the paints; then to legend modules. 
 
However, the current game mode only allows 3 protection modules to be equipped. 
 
I would like to please see Tanki allow players to equip 4 protection modules at once, or maybe even 5.
 
Tanki has added many wonderful turrets over the past couple of years, but the number of protection modules to equip stays at 3 only and does not increase, resulting in a growing and frustrating imbalance and very fast death. We tankers want to enjoy the game more by staying alive longer, so we can play, not die. :)
 
For example....
My kill / death ratio was once 3.65 a couple of years ago.... Now it is 2.20.
 
It is a very sad feeling to keep dying hundreds of times and a lit more than being able to play and enjoy the game. 
 
Please can Tanki consider allowing 4 or 5 modules to equip to our tanks instead of only 3? Please can someone from the developer team read this and let me know their thoughts? I would be extremely grateful! :-)

No. Falcon, Grizzly module is common already. Next thing you know... armies of Griffin and Eagle will come b/c of this.

Hello Tanki,

 Your already released new weapons (eg. Striker, Magnum and Gauss) are very powerful. But we can use protections are just 3. So now we are very difficult to playing in this game. You need to add one or more slot for protection module. Thank you Tanki.

I don't understand how and why you would micro upgrade the empty slot modules. What's the advantage in that for protections in battles?

 

The current system is great, but it's much better to have 4 slot modules, now that we have the Gauss turret that gives Tanki Online a total of 14 turrets.

The current system is great, but it's much better to have 4 slot modules, now that we have the Gauss turret that gives Tanki Online a total of 14 turrets.

The new system is better than the last one, but not good enough because now we need 14 modules that are as expensive as turrets and hulls.

 

So, my two ideas are to reduce the prices of modules and make hulls and turrets more expensive to balance, or to reduce the number of modules. But reducing the number of modules is impossible, so instead I suggested to sell the slots (4) and give the modules for free, other equipment prices could go up to balance.

 

The idea was that non buyers could stay somewhat competitive by upgrading and using 1 or 2 slots while they are ranking up and not have to buy 7 or 8 modules while neglecting their hulls and turrets. Of course buyers can just buy and upgrade all the slot if they want and be more powerful. Now think of a non-buyer using any protection against that buyer in the one slot that player has, that would balance both even if the buyer changes to a new weapon, because the non-buyer could do the same. Of course in MM battles you could protect yourself against that buyer but not the other players if you only have one slot.

 

Now there's another solution I was thinking about, but that would be more complicated:

 

In this new idea the current modules would be gone, no more specific protection for specify turrets.

 

Instead we could get protections like:

 

Heat protection. For Fire and some alts

 

Freezing protection. For Freeze and some alts

 

Projectile protection. For various turrets.

 

Plasma protection. For Twins and Rico

 

Nanobots protection. For Isida and possible alts (this could affect damaging and healing, which would make Isidas weaker when healing, so a buff would be needed)

 

Then others like: Penetration protection, Splash damage protection, Impact protection...

 

But the problem with these would be balancing, which would require big adjustments and a big conversion.

When the new overdrives were still in development, developers spent nearly 2 years having to rework the entire mechanics of hulls special defences for each hull.

 

My best idea is to have 4 slot modules with 50% protection from all equipped modules. This system would be the same as the current system with the triple slot module system, except that this system has one extra slot for equipping a fourth protection module, which would be the best alternative to come up with.

4 slots.

 

Use 3 and each module gets full value from whatever you equip from garage.

 

Use 4 slots and each slot gives a minus to the protection equipped from garage.

m0 = -3%

m1 = -4%

m2= -6%

m3= -8%

m4=-10%

No. The 4 slot module must give you the full 50% protection value from your protections. That is a total of 200% protection which is now suitable with 14 turrets.

 

200% / 4 = 50%.
