Striker: lock on process doesn't reset when switching targets.

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty sure that many of you have noticed that when switching targets, the lock on process resets.

So what I'm suggesting is that it doesn't reset when doing so. However the only catch is that the targets have to be near each other, not necessarily near the striker user.

What do you think?

Declined

Doesn't make sense. The reason there's a "lock-on" is because the targeting system needs to detect the heat signature of the tank and track it. It can't just randomly switch to a different signature at will. I agree that striker needs an improvement, but this isn't it.

Well, while I agree partially to this, it is just in your fiction how this system works. But let's suppose you're sniping and the longer you are focused on one enemy the more precise the shot is, while the focus is barely lost if scope is moving.. but leave that aside as the shots in TO are auto-aimed and direct unlike in most other tank games. Aside from that, fiction on how the turret actually works is a good idea.

"detect the heat signature" lol

Taking the pseudo science as real

Even in terms of gameplay this is a bad idea, as it will be hard to target one enemy when there's others next to them.

This would be an over-buff and Striker would actually be OP (it's not weak right now for those who play smart with it and don't rush others). Anyways, if you were to buff striker, make it a given time span where the lock-on doesn't reset only for the same target. For example, if you are targeting this one dude, and he goes behind a wall for a second, and comes back out, you can continue its lock on.
