Paints have 0 value nowadays

One can get a chocolate medal from the shop and the other one a gold medal from a sport tournement. They might look very similar but only the one with poor eyes would be fooled. This topic is much ado about nothing.

Well, imagine you spent months or even years working to get that medal and you can't wait to wear it every day and show it off to everyone, making people think "wow, that guy has accomplished something great!". And then, a couple months after you get that medal, some shop starts selling lower almost identical medals for a low price using a cheap material. So now not only do a bunch of other people have medals, but everyone who sees you simply thinks you bought it from the shop.

I know it doesn't really work like that in real life, since the main reward for winning a sports tournament is the feeling of pride and accomplishment, rather than recognition from random strangers. But in Tanki and other video games recognition is exactly what most people want. So by adding a bunch of random similar looking paints developers basically ruined the main purpose of special paints. Because let's face it, a lot of reward paints aren't particularly pretty and people only wear them to be recognised.

The least developers could to do make up for it is add the name of the paint in the info panel above the tank (when you press "R") and maybe colour the text according to rarity (e.g. gray for garage, blue for shop/container, purple for helper/admin, green for parkour reward, gold for esports reward).

Well i agree with your point

Still you silver makes you feel like a legend

So another guy having same look don't bother

It is like we have a original The Rock and a guy who wears his  Costume

So does Rock lose his value , no

But in this case we have the both sides balanced so we can not blame E-sports or Parkour being easy or Hard

Both have their difficultie's

And for @Lankbouv E-sports is easy , while for @SwiftSmoky Parkour is easy

So just dont please compare two differnt things

Sry for my grammer

Although @Spy did say that winning a parkour contest is easier than winning an eSports tournament, he did back up this statement with his own achievements in parkour, namely winning 2 MoP tournaments and Parkour Survival. He has extensive experience in both areas.

I actually fully agree with him. Winning an eSports tournament takes a lot more practice, skill, time and team cohesion than winning a parkour competition.

I&S ?

No point. I very much doubt that developers will add a whole new cosmetic and just give it for free to people who own special paints (and not sell it at all).

I think the devs are running out of ideas for new paints. Therefore, they should hold a paint designing contest for the players.

The players that designed the best paints would get to keep their designed paint and probably get something else as a reward.

With this, the devs can carry on with their updates while knowing that the players will design awesome new paints.

I agree that a lot of new paints are way too similar to old paints and paints overall are devalued. I remember times when for example zeus or other garage paints were really cool and "valuable", I remember meeting one, just one champion against me, whoever from old Noobest clan it was, I couldn't believe I got the chance to play with someone with it. Now, even tho there is a lot of new and great looking paints, people use to wear those most rare, for show off, instead of wearing paint for it's looks. Recently I got myself to play with a bunch of cool paints that were collecting dust in garage, well, so far it was just red suit and zeus. Many more remaining. And I don't know which to choose. Sad.

To the examples, you can add

Fire of Valor - Phoenix

Secret of the Alliens (I hope the name is right) - Aero,

at least in my opinion these are similar.

About parkour vs e-sports topic, people still keep forgetting, that parkour is nowhere as close to the level of mastery as e-sport tournaments are. While in parkour, where most of time it's about videos, you want great recorded cool and impressive tricks, while I don't think, that anyone in tournaments attemps for 360's, or some super hard showoff shots. You want efficient, and good hits, you want to win the game, not be fancy. If parkour clubs were training certain types of jumps for hours daily, they will be able to land anything at first attempt. But who would ever do that if that doesn't even matter in parkour? If tournaments like Top Class will become more common, we can expect clubs start to practice way more, so they have advantage over other teams.

Prism_paint.pngPaint_abstract_lines.png

You don't know how many times I've seen this paint in a battle and thought, "Wait, this guy wasn't in the team that won the Prism paint..." and then realizing it's Abstract Lines seconds later. Same goes for Top Class.

And probably the biggest example of all, they look so similar from a distance:

I dont get it why are u all attacking Spy saying he is not a proper parkourist ? Did u see which team won MoP 2017 or u just wanna say how easy it was getting the winning entry ? and go of the point ,  he made the topic to complain about similiar paints not to prove parkour is easy and eSports is hard . Before u post think of what u are saying people do not have to bother reading ur irrelevant comments and then reply .  ur even saying gladiator is easy , if so prove it lets see how easy its for u parkourists  winning gladiator and how easy for eSports players is winning a

parkour paint , thing which has been already done several times. And as well u  mentioned the F&F tricks . yeah they are amazing

breathtaking ,  wonderful but still to do them u need hundreds of trys . If u guys really wanna prove ur skills as parkourists

why not doing those tricks and use that creativity in a live stream ? bcs eSports players are good in trainings and extraordinary in

tournaments thats why they deserve the paints they have and they need to complain about paints which look alike and are taken

with 0 hard work .

Since the paint disintegration update, a huge number of paints have been added. I would as far as to say that since then, the number of paints in the game has doubled. What has happened is that variety and options for customization have increased, since there are more paints to choose from, but "value" has been lost. Is this a bad thing? It depends on who you ask. It doesn't bother me much. I have more ways of making my tank look good, even if it doesn't necessarily look "unique." Then again, I don't own any particularly rare paints besides Vavilon.

The only paint that seriously needs redone is Top Class. The rest are different enough, I think the problem is that there's just too much metal plating around tanks which makes it hard to see the paint, and it gets even worse with XTs.

They stole macrochip from my custom paints?

Well I color edited Microchip in TV anyway.

And I agree with Maf. Paints themselves are available to anyone. So Tanki could give out a Glow Effect that comes with a special paint. It'll instantly tell users that they've achieved something big.

That way we can keep expanding the paint variety and at the same time give special paint users the attention that they want (and deserve). Unless the users decides to go incognito. In such a case the glow effect could be turned on and off and be worn on all paints.
