Incentive for playing more each day

Recommended Posts

so the whole purpose of missions is to make people play the game. but lots of people over exploiting missions and benefit too much from missions than they should by playing just enough to complete their missions each day. They stop playing after their missions are done in order to have high amounts of drugs and crystals for their rank leaving others who play more each day at a disadvantage. exploiters like this even manage to buy kits and fully MU them bring them to equal levels as a buyer and thus won't even need to spend any money on this game.

I feel that this should not be happening as people should not be encouraged to play less. People who play more are contributing more to this game than people who play less, yet those who play less benefit more and don't have to spend any money. So maybe for people who play at least 15 hours a day and earned at least 10 000 exp that day (bonus from premium won't be counted) in matchmaking battles will get some special currency which can't be gotten in the shop or anywhere else to buy stuff that can only be purchased by that currency? (like wolf points in wolfteam)
the minimum time is obviously to make sure they play enough (and be cannon fodder long enough which is important to keep buyers happy) and the minimum exp is to make sure they don't just mult the battles

Completed

At the moment we don't actually have anything that can be unlocked just by playing for a long time (other than useless achievements) so in that regard this is a sensible idea.

it's not really about that... it's simply about making sure people who play so little don't benefit more than people who play more... because missions are supposed to make people play more.

so an alternative could be to penalize those who don't play enough. like not letting them get their chain rewad

I used to play the entire 48hours non stop during weekend giveaways..

you know how hard it is to get 2000 kills without drugs when everyone else is emptying their drug reserves...

I actually wanted to make it 20 hours, because if it's just 15 hours then those who play 20+ hours would still be at a disadvatage to those who barely played 15 hours... but i suppose with matchmaking sometimes you have to wait quite a bit to be sent into a battle with only 2 minutes left after which you'll have to wait again.

no they don't. some of us just don't even want to live. just let them die enjoying what they love.

Hey, this looks pretty simple to me.. Do your missions, complete them and get the reward (Crystals, Supplies, Gold Boxes, etc.) and once they're done, play in pro battles, where there are no supplies activated, and most of the time no micro-upgrades activated too! this way will make your experience grow fast, you will save some supplies for later, or just to help you finishing your missions and you will get 2x more crystals than the players that only do their missions and leave, because you will earn a lot of crystals in those pro-battles!

Good Luck, and have fun on the battlefield! B)

"who play [...] 15 hours a day"

There is more to life than just Tanki. I don't think we should reward people for spending all their lives in an online game, rather, at intervals, they should be suggested to get up, stretch, and take a break from tanki.

tanki is not your mother.

tanki is a buisiness

This just encourages players to ignore their real life responsibilities, which is a bad thing. Besides if you do play for 15 hours a day, you're going to considered as a no lifer.

That's the whole purpose my friend

the goal is to make tanki the sole purpose of their existence.

could you please elaborate how that's a bad thing? (for tanki of course)

Besides if you do play for 15 hours a day, you're going to considered as a no lifer.

considered a no lifer in real life. becasuse their life is tanki. and here your real life doesn't matter. what matters is who you are here.

if they can work to get money to buy stuff in tanki then good. but if they can't then at least make them contribute by playing more.

Horrible idea. The only person spending 15 hours a day on this game is a crazy person.

why do you care if he's crazy or not?

as long as he's helping to uphold the game he should get rewarded so as to motivate him to continue

This idea seems cool, but a reward should be given every X hours in the game. Not in solid chunks. I can tell you from other games a reward every X hours is much more incentive to play then having to play a solid chunk of hours just to get the same reward at the end of it.

but the whole point of this is so people won't log off after they complete their missions. if you were to let them accumulate their times from different days until they hit that X hours then it won't encourage them to play more each day.

If anything it'd just encourage them to be less effective in battles so they can get the rewards for hitting every X hours as many times as possible before they rank up.

What you are suggesting may well give tanki (a minuscule) more money however trying to get people hooked to a video game and give up real life is still a very dirty business strategy. There were very disturbing cases regarding this, so much that bigger gaming companies made the responsible decision to stay away from the "dark side of gaming", and I think that tanki should go the same way if it aims to become a better game.

But I get the impression that this post is somewhat a satire about the game uh? ;)

Wouldn't waste life on Tanki (again). TO is too addictive already, but as you grow up/get older you'll notice interest in other games.

Now let's get to the point. What is actually Tanki? Many would say they'd finish off their missions as quickly as possible each day and play pro-battles the rest. But what Tanki also is? You can see it's a browser-based […] game with 'quick' battles. In TO promo video you see a guy in some caffee-bar playing on his laptop. This leads to the ultimate counterpoints telling why is TO 'dying' - either wrong audience or wrong developing path. If you look for any other browser-based MMOs, you'll see either top-down-view, 2.5D or ".io" games, all smoothly playable on any potato not older than 5-7 years. Where is TO going? It's mostly going the demi-successful younger brother's path, is putting a lot of new content mostly about new paints and putting extra forces to the game performance, such as bigger maps & 10vs10 requirementing battle.. and the fact it's turning even more P2W is completely true. Now, let's say the requirement for (w/o some of the graphics options) 60FPS in TO are, for example, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, graph. card like NVidia's GTX 980M, Intel's i5 processor and 512GB SSD hard drive. Would you still play/look for browser-games, despite being able to play other more appealing games with a gaming setup? I don't think so I would,; this leaves the fact not many newcomers would, older TO players might want, while old players with 'potatoes' which were able to run TO smoothly in the past are mostly going to leave - basically when we mix up all the mentioned, we get something 'we' call a 'dying' game. How is this block of a text related to the topic? I'm not enough smart or have speech to describe, but together with this feature, TO'd be expecting low-in-numbers browser-based, but more importantly, also mobile/smartphone gaming community to play quick, P2W, hard to control and laggy, planned-to-be simplistic and lately requiring powerful builds MMOG for 15 consecutive hours (or play a battle over whole day every 8 minutes after one another)? I wouldn't suggest to any videogame company doing this even if being legally covered and profiting as much. I think 7 hours a day for an average gamer is just on the edge of being okay, depending on other activities, energy balance, etc..

But wouldn't yours do the same thing? Player's who play more often would still have the advantage, because they would earn more.

Nothing wrong with this idea to be honest. It's the players choice if they want to play 15 hours or not. If you don't want to ignore real life responsibilities, then just don't play that long. Although I do think 15 hours is a bit of a long time..Perhaps 3-4 Hours instead? The rewards shouldn't be that big too. The only problem is that Tanki gets a bit boring and repetitive after play extended periods of time.
