The removal of gifts issue

For players like you 50 is very less , but for me I have received 18 gifts after playing for around 3 years(counting gifts apart from this account)

 

So you are basically boycotting Tanki till they return your gifts?

Did you delete some other gifts since the change? Because your profile shows less than 100 in total.

          Once again, I had +600 teddy bears at my profile. They are now gone from my profile page. In garage I can scroll through last 100 ones. And no, I will not delete any of them just to check again their error and lack of respect for their cusotmers. Idk what they did, but also I suspect it is related to something that was about my account and required dev intervention. It makes absolutely no difference for me since they don't even care to investigate, but having coopero and nives posting same useless replies everywhere.

In my honest opinion, people who are complaining against this issue are attaching too much importance to something that is not even a major part of the game. Gifts are a waste of crystals, it doesn't matter if you're sending them to a popular YouTuber or a friend, you can spend those crystals elsewhere like some M2s and not complain about M2 druggers everywhere ruining your battles. The only gifts that mean something are when the sender actually meant to send them with a reason, for example for your birthday or something. HOWEVER, the solution with which Tanki has dealt with this issue is a whole new story which is quite debatable.

Gift don't mean anything. As if you go on your account to read gifts every single day to make yourself happy or boost your confidence. Making big scene out of it.

They never force anyone to buy gifts. It's one's own choice to waste crystals on gifts, and having sales on them has no relevancy to this issue.

I can understand the logic, but if developers thought this way, then they would ultimately say to the customers: It's your fault, you were so dumb to buy what we offered to you.

When you go in a shop and buy something, you only buy something you need and don't waste your money on other things. You decline any extra offers the shopkeeper gives you because you're not dumb enough to waste your money. Same is the case with paints, there are so many of them yet people don't buy them, why? Because it's a waste of crystals. Same is the case with gifts, no one should be dumb enough to buy gifts even if they're offering you to buy them. If you bought them nonetheless, then clearly it's your fault because you bought something that was unneeded at that point in time.

There is difference in measuring in what we 'need'. Seeing it in an absolute and in a common sense/ Homo economicus way, like you described, nobody really needs paints and gifts.

As we have seen here, Gifts are needed as well - they serve the function of communicating with players to show their appreciation or their gratitude for each other.

If one declines that there is a need at all (economical and irrational) for something one should also decline to offer it.

If the time zones are different and its difficult for both to get on at the sametime?? Of course they could use the forum, but then again not everyone uses the forum, also gifts arent always sent to friends.

 

If im correct and you are talking about gifts being removed to take away server lag, then why has there been such a dramatic increase of no damages in non format and pro battles?

True, you could do that too. Consider tho, that the chat has got no persistence and it was believed up to the change in the profiles that the gifts are staying in the garage. I doubt that a bigger number of players knew that it is only possible to collect 100 gifts in it, since there was no official information available, that was stating this. A lot of emotions are connected with gifts and if they are simply deleted, it is perceived as a rude move.

Gifts seemed to work as an in-game PM, but it is rather a channel to send nice words with pictures to a fellow tanker and one can emphasize the value of the message by buying expensive gifts. Another aspect is that communication can be with words, but it doesn't need to be.

 

The thing I wanted to point out is just that developers mustn't think or justify the change in that way, that it was stupid from the beginning to buy these items. Because it would then be a statement from their side that there are no securities when you do investments in Tanki.

I hope that the profile update will get them back on the page, but I doubt so.

I think that gifts are almost pointless. what actual purpose does it serve.  I don't understand why people would need or want so many. it only makes your profile look cool. there is no practical purpose. I think it is a nice thing to spend your money on to send to another person if it is a special occasion but are they really that big of a deal????? I think that it is ok that they have a cap that you can fill up too, but I think they should increase it more.

Personally, I have no friends so I don't give a rodents behind. :(

Like the friend system this could have been solved by putting the garage on another server, VM or physical it doesn't matter. The Battles, Battle List, Garage, and forum should all be separated client wise.
