XPBP Skills

So I've played a decent amount of XPBP, and can sometimes end up top in a 4v4 sandbox game, but lately I've been trying different maps and playing smaller games and I'm realizing I am just trash at it. What are ways to improve my game to the next level. OBviously time is needed, but I think playing team games is not helping me get better. I've determined to play 1v1s until I improve, but those are tough as most players are dirtbags when they win 5-2.

I suppose my question is, do I simply need to keep playing 1v1s or smaller games and just hope that in time I can improve, or is there a better way to do it?

In my opinion, 1v1 skills do help you learn and know the map / hull and turret better, but not teamwork. In team battles, teamwork is also important.

Also in my opinion, battles with smaller teams are harder, requiring better teamwork than battles with larger teams, so its best to first learn teamwork with large teams and then play in smaller teams.

Maps are very important and they have a huge influence on how you perform. You said that you have played in Sandbox, I can assume that you are decent at it. The most important thing is practice, you can’t go to Garder play a 2v2 a few times and say you are trash, thats BS, everyone is trash at the beginning.

IMO you should start playing maps like Garder and Zone. you MUST know and LEARN every place from where your opponent can shoot you and you can shoot him/her. It takes time, but watching videos of other experienced XP/BP players play helps a lot. For example, you can see the videos of Lankbouv who is an overachiever when it comes to esports, he speciallizes in Garder. Another example would be Spy, he came 2nd in last years MOTS solo, his videos in the Zone map can be compared with the Holy Bible.

Another thing, remember always focus on the flag, even if someone is about to shoot you unless your teammates have got it covered. Shoot enemies that are one shot, this especially comes into play in 2v2 games, its really really important.

Try to find a yourself a good team mate and play 1vs1 and 2vs2 games daily with him/her. You'll be able to see how they play in different maps and will gradually learn from them. Speaking from experience btw.

These are much better helps than I was expecting. Does anyone know why some players, like Spy use Wasp for esports, but seem to use hornet for normal matches. Is there a time and place that each one is better?

Nope

Bp=fast And less size

XP=More easy to use and more stable , and looks like a Race car  , Also pulling pro shots looks more cool on XP

At M2 level BP has more advantage cause it has more health

And from my experience it gets more 3 shots than XP

Also for your first post

Play Parma & Camp, those are bug maps and a shot hit on those maps need good accuracy& timing

And for starting Zone is best got accuracy and timing practice

play more 1v1's in Zone

Sand is good but less props gives more visibility

Wait, landing lucky shots and sometimes going for 2v1 in XP/BP is considered as a skill? Wow I didn't know skills exist in Tanki  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)

Well practice and patience is a must, plus trying being versatile so that you become an all rounder regardless of map size.

Like I prefer maps like Zone- excellent for fast paced battles with quick reflexes and timings ,Bridges- med map good for accuracy and prediction and team-play, other than the regular sandbox.

Similarly maps like Parma can help you improve your prediction a lot.

Plus 1v1 are quite helpful to brush up ur skills. But yeah its gonna take time as miracles don't hapen.

Well tbh I was never great at sandbox (I am still mediocre tbh) as it never suited my style of fast paced action, then I fell in love with zone, but I nvr just dropped playing in sandbox.

U see thats the thing, no matter if they call u a kid or noob, no one is good at the beginning, so just keep practicing and playing 2-3 matches in small maps daily.

I'm not an XP/BP player, but I see little reason to use Wasp. It is harder to dodge shots because of the poor acceleration, aim gets knocked off easily, and the speed difference isn't significant.

Ah, lack of brain cells, no worries.

Or maybe its because i tend to recieve sarcasm in real life and not through a screen. But, yeah, whatever floats ur boat.

Or was that "sarcasm" again

Play Barda, Red Alert, Bridges in around 4v4 or more battles. They will help you learn teamwork in XP/BP. You should, however, don't miss an opportunity to join a drops on XP/BP match in these maps, that will help you learn drop control and even more teamwork.

These maps are rarely created without drops on, anyway. :P

Wasp is much more agile than Hornet. Plus, you can shoot at lot more places than with Hornet.

I can take that for Parma, but, Camp really just stays true to its name and the battles are just camp-camp-camp. They go on for hours, while you need to keep playing different maps to better yourself, against different ranks/skilled players.

I looked at Camp and it doesn't look like a map I would like to play in any format, except maybe TDM where u dont have to cross that middle

Bro why i said camp is it needs camping techinque

I mean that map makes you learn to waiting shots

and also pretty good for improving aim & timing at same time

It is not a good map for playing , but best for Practising

Go Parma with some friends if you don't like Camp

Also for starting Zone is the best

None can really camp there

It's not all about speed or the ability to dodge! Wasp is superb when it comes to turning tight corners and escaping the enemy, not to mention its height which is in itself incredibly beneficial as it allows the user to hit shots a Hornet user might find a difficult time scoring. Also, even though the speed difference isn't that noteworthy, Wasp will always beat a Hornet in a race.

As for Potdindy,

In my opinion, duels are the worst option you could choose. You only have one enemy that you can monitor at all times.

And true, duels may better your aim and knowledge of the map, but it will make you self-dependent which you will find troublesome should you play team battles. The common misconception most players face is that aim + trick shots = skill which is flat-out wrong. Having a good aim is one thing but to be able to communicate and coordinate with your teammates without actually talking... that's the real skill.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, being a good player is mainly about being a good teammate and less about being a good marksman.

So my advice is: work on your team-coordination skills and then build up your aim, you'll find little trouble succeeding in team battles!

Also, opt for big maps. Small maps are fun but large ones are more complex and therefore it will help you coordinate with a bigger team and help your aim.
