Why did TO even spend time on Drones?

Obviously to make money... but why bother with drones, such a pointless and expensive item, when you could simply finish clans, perfect the MM system, finish HTML5 version, release Mobile TO, finish the Juggernaut mode, balance all of the weapons in the game?...

It seems to me that TO devs have where they cannot focus on one project and perfecting it...

Maybe because drones were a successful thing in TX, sure it must be in TO. They could do a lot of things.

But realize it already, TO is not their mainstream anymore and they probably have to sacrifice it in order to maintain TX until TX profits enough and can fund itself and the dev team alone. Updates like Drones, more gold/black boxes, XT skins, some even unfinished though, they use to keep interest of the players the easy way. Actual rebalance and polishing takes time and effort, until then it's too much of a risk to go a 1~3 month no-update path.

It seems to me that TO devs have mental disabilities, where they cannot focus on one project and perfecting it...

1. What a pointless topic.

2. They created the game to make money

3. Tanki isn’t run by donations, they have a lot of staff -_-

4. Get use to it kid, it’s going to stay

I do wish that they would finish the more important stuff first. It almost reminds me of a little kid who gets a new toy and forgets about the other ones. But that kid will get tired of the new one eventually and finish the clan system, Overdrives, etc. Its difficult for Tanki with such a small team.

Agreed with kirby. Moreover, after TX becomes standalone we might get some good roll of updates.

If that happens, they might let TO die a slow death. Why would they need TO once TX becomes the self-sustaining money maker?

Well I don't know about alternativa but the devs of tankix are not devs of tankiO they seperate teams so they can't be thrown out of jobs just like that.

You poor thing....

They won't get "thrown" out, the company would downsize and have them "phased" out.

I've said as long as I've been playing TO shows the signs of a company with poor management. As the OP points out the creative team is just given too much to do. That's on management, really, though we tend to blame "the devs".

Tanki can't make a single thing perfect so they just release another thing that needs fixing.

I wish I could go back in time to 2011 tanki where it wasn't pay-2-win and not everything was broken.

Prolly you can call me that as I don't have any experience of being employed. Well I guess I meant "Phased out" when I said "thrown out".

I've seen it done where I work. They "phase out" certain departments because they have become obsolete or the company is going in another direction where their services are no longer needed. In that sense, the company is kept free of blame.

Well... there are surely a lot of better ways to make money and make the game more appealing than wasting your time, kid.

Edit: The main focus of this topic is to discuss about why TO devs have like 5 things they are developing at once for the past 2 years, and not a single one of them are finished.

1. They allowed cheating to be rampant

2. They allowed the players to be treated like crap

3. They allowed rouge mods and admins to do whatever they wanted

4. They spent their time on contests, crazy weekends, drones instead of improving the game

5. They had no dealings with the players because they don't communicate with the players at all.

I could go on forever

Okay if you can go on forever, name 15 more good reasons, Ha

I have a simple idea. Nerf splash. Nerf Magnum. Remove drones. Remove modules. Refund modules and drones so the players can upgrade hulls and turrets.

A lot of changes seemed to be implemented with the goal of making supplies an integral part of the game. They were made easier to obtain, cool downs were reworked, Overdrive was added, and now drones.

If that happens, they might let TO die a slow death. Why would they need TO once TX becomes the self-sustaining money maker?

TO and TX devs have said multiple times that TX is far from a financial success. It will take a while for TX to become the main source of income for Alternativa, or else won’t happen at all. TO is still king.
