How are the Mods and devs doing

 Share

Recommended Posts

Okay so first of I know that there are a bunch of topics about this but I want this type of topic to be heard here, so I'm creating this one. Also this is not to criticize the mods or anything so do NOT delete this admin.

Oh plz don't delete or lock this....

Okay now that that's over I'm gonna go off on a little tangent.

Tanki has released a bunch of updates lately, like matchmaking, drones, and a bunch of other stuff. And even still tanki is active in programming new updates to add in the future.

My question for the players is, How well do you think the moderators are processing people's feedback(again not criticism so plz dont delete this)

The mods are doing an impeccable job, as always. The devs...eh...not bad. I wish they would complete old projects before starting new ones.

and they need to nerf  amgnum and buff vulcan.

they are doing an excellent job forwarding player feedback.

they do so by deleting all player's negative opinions about them from the forum so as to not loose their helpers postions

like what some mod just did to my negative views about them right here on this topic

Please stop spreading false information.

Yes, we do get paid crystals for our work. Yes, we do get paid more if we do more work. But no, the amount we get isn't based solely on the amount of work done. So if you think it's a case of "1000 crystals for every locked topic, so lock 100 topics to receive 100k" - it's not.

If a helper does their job poorly, they will be very quickly confronted by their admin and likely warned. If found that they are abusing their power for the sake of farming crystals from payments, then they will quickly lose the position.

So please don't spread misinformation that's based on your own assumptions, considering that you have no first-hand knowledge about how helper teams work.

We delete false information and slander. You know very well that criticism of helpers must be sent to their respective admin via PM only, and not in some random forum topic.

you really have no idea, don't you?

as for the rest, you really take me for a fool don't you? when i asked why the EN wiki takes so long to update you replied that it was because you aren't good with bb codes.. what bb codes? all you had to do was get the already done codes from the RU wiki admin and replace the russian words within the codes with the english versions of the codes.

but of course if you did that you wouldn't have so much work to do and wouldn't be able to farm so much crystals

You think I haven't tried that? Again you are making assumptions. The wiki is not as simple as you think. Some codes are different, some templates do not exist, files have to be edited and reuploaded. It took Impulse (a professional) a whole day to implement calculator mode for the MU tables on our wiki. You think he spent the whole day copy-pasting text?

I didn't become a wiki admin to earn tons of crystals. I did it to help our community have an interesting and comprehensive information source for everyone to take advantage of. If I could snap my fingers and make wiki instantly update on its own without editors having to do it (and without getting paid) - I would. Besides all that, most (if not all) administrators don't even pay themselves for their work.

I won't argue about this here. Feel free to PM me.

there is nothing to argue about. if you say it is not as i say it is then what can i do? it's not like you'll give me access to edit the wiki and see for myself.. and i'm not gonna bother trying to hack into it.

but i'm saying that there are lots of stuff that can be done much more easily and efficiently but for some reason mods chose to take the longer way. one example is that you mods prefer to just reply "there is no answer" instead of really searching for an answer before. like how you mods always told players that garage kit rotations are "completely random"

Because that's what we're told, so that's what we relay to players. And if there's no answer, then we probably didn't get any official info about the thing you are asking. I don't know about others, but I always try to answer questions with maximum detail (in fact, it's a requirement in our guidelines). The only exception is when players are expected to find the answer on their own, such as where to post a moderator application.

I personally don't care enough about how well. The idea that players (no small amount little kids*) know best how to run a game is funny. And as for what "is best" for TO and players, that is highly subjective. There is another thread about what people would do if they had unlimited power, give themselves loads of crystals and drugs and free stuff is a pretty common theme. What the point of playing and earning is when you have a free ticket to the "top" is, I have no idea.

As for whether devs should give weight (and how much) to player feedback, that is debatable, and I think not. The devs have access to real numbers:

-players/country

-mean time spent in game

-mean crystal revenue

-number of players who complete missions, and how many missions each day

-real money spent on various things at each rank

etc etc

That will tell them far more how to run and "improve" the game than a highly select group of player non-representative of the group with an agenda to push. That's why MM is not going away. That's why they decided to implement drones. That's how they get their data for "rebalances".

If I ran the zoo I'd do just about everything different, but I guarantee you the feedback on the forum wouldn't change one bit.

*I'm not saying this as a judgment, and it wasn't meant to demean or insult anyone in particular or at all. There are certain facts about that cannot be shrugged off regarding the good decision making of those below ages of majority. Anyone who can't be trusted with a credit card probably is going to make questionable spending decisions in game. Back when I couldn't use money wisely (in a meta sense), I made choice in TO that I now regret years later. I was young once, too, and can speak for the group because I was part of it.

How good are the players to stick to maintaining the number of topic to the point?

and I haven't put the topic we closed or merged:

Your Opinion about tanki

Post balance metagame

New Day / New Ways to Play: Drones I & II

Appreciation of New Updates

The game cant be this bad...

Is Tanki more fun now than it was a year or two ago?

Things TO has improved on since 2014

...

The more topics the less relevant the topic.

The topics which breaks the rules of forum are meant to be hidden or deleted. The topics which are duplicated/copied/have similar idea will either get closed or merged. Well, moderators are considered infamous for violating player's freedom of speech but it is just because the player can't refrain from insulting or spreading misleading information regarding the topic. Try this: Criticize the system of game with clean language and relevant information and see the result.

All right, this topic turned to be a discussion about helper which is not allowed.

Any issue with moderation address a PM to the appropriate admin.

If you want to learn more about helpers, visit the how to Becoming a Helper topic or read the many interview in the Newspaper Archives.

You don't need to be a helper to help, so feel free to help.

Helper are not machine and they are volunteer that help within their personal abilities.
