Limit on how long one can hold the enemy flag

subject: Maximum hold time for flag.

 

Some sort of time limit where you have to drop the flag or pass it on to another team member. Would help to bypass the knobs that sit on the last flag and refuse to cap.  30 seconds maybe.  Obviously has to be long enough to get around a map with a bit of hassle... I'd take the largest regular CTF map as the example, no idea what that presently is.

Holding the flag without capping it is already considered to be a violation of rules, so people doing that risk getting banned for sabotage. Your idea would help with this issue to some extent, but it needs to be balanced in order to not interfere with normal gameplay actions. For example: your flag is at the base and you are carrying the enemy flag, but you can't go and cap it because enemies are waiting at your base to ambush you, return their flag and capture yours.

Players refusing to capture the last flags is the reason why I don't play pro battles anymore except when it is parkour.

 

Won't be much help in MM battles. But would be extremely helpful in reducing the chances of people refusing to cap those last flags because of "more funds". Like I give a crap about more funds, I just want the funds I already earned.

If the threshold was reasonable - how would it "just be annoying"?

 

I'd say violating the rules is way, way more annoying. 

 

Even when I'm on the team with 6 flags I tell them to cap it.  Finish the battle and let everyone get on to the next one.

Perhaps longer than 30 seconds?? You never know what can happen in a battle situation. Like the person holding flag may have to take different routes because they are being chased or may have to wait because if they come out they will be hit by a shaft.

This would be terrible, really... What if you're on the way back to your base and the enemy team is behind you, the time you can hold the flag has passed and the flag drops, and the enemy team returns it.

The timer would have to be longer than 30 seconds.  More like in the 1 to 2 minute range.  Worse-case scenario is a mammoth heading back to base on Highways - maybe someone can time that with and without speed-boost.

 

This would be terrible, really... What if you're on the way back to your base and the enemy team is behind you, the time you can hold the flag has passed and the flag drops, and the enemy team returns it.

It is a violations of game rule, but I encounter that every single day. Whenever I steal a flag from the enemy base, come back to my base to see that the flag isn't on the podium, I have to hold the flag, and sometimes it can be a long time, because, I really don't trust my teammates. Reason why is that I don't want to risk a sabotage player holding the flag for an unnecessarily long time. So I keep it to myself and hope the best I don't get banned for sabotage :lol:

Well obviously it's fine during a flag exchange. The only time it's a violation is when your own flag is at the base, you have the enemy flag and you refuse to capture it despite having the opportunity.

          Is this topic a joke or what? What happens when getting flag into our base to cap takes longer than 30 seconds? Where flag drops? Next your tank? South, East, North, West? It is spawned back to enemy base? Anything would be a bigger disaster than noobs holding flags from cap.

In Big maps like Kunger , Madness , Barda  , You can't capture flag in 30 seconds,  However , This rule should be apply on Small maps like island etc.

This would ruin the fun of the "stalemate" situations when both teams defend the stolen enemy flag and try to return their own flag from enemy base.

It would not even affect stale mate situations. It would only be in affect if the flag carrier's team flag is still in their base.

Sheesh guys it doesn't have to be 30 seconds.  Could be 6 months, its just a figure I pulled out of my .... , and I did say you'd want to reconfigure it for larger maps.  I usually only play sandbox and for that 30sec is probably sufficient.
