Scam Calls

Did you ever receive a random scam call? Share it below!
I received one about an hour ago... My SIM network is 'Zong'.
That guy: "Hello! I'm from Zong Head Office. Is that your number right?"
Me: "Yeah, that's actually registered on my brother's ID card.."
That guy: "This number was included in a jackpot. Congratulations your number has won a grand price of 5 lac 60 thousand rupees". (It's equivalent to $5000+) lol
Me: "Umm ok?"
That guy: "I'm gonna tell you a code. Please note it.*told me a code*. Take your SIM out of your phone and match that code with the code written on the SIM. And then contact back on my number to get further info on how to get your reward."
Me: "Okay."

On my landline I have an answering machine so I can screen all my phone calls. My cell phone goes crazy with all the telemarketers. Again, if I don't recognize the phone number, I don't answer. The only ones I gave my cell phone number to are family members, close friends and one neighbor. Everyone else calls on my landline, except computer generated phone calls from Telemarketers.

Random mult: Calls

Me: Hits wrong button and accepts call

Me: Hi?

Random mult: ...

Me [._.]:Who dis?

Random mult: ...

Me: [exasperated]: -.-

Random mult: ... hangs up

I pick up the phone and I hear this indian guy say:

 

'Hello this is windows support you have very dangerous virus! It should be deleted right now! tell me the name of your computer so I can install update to remove virus'

 

What? A virus?

 

'Yes I need the name of your computer'

 

The name is PC. (I could hear the indian guy starting to get mad)

 

'I need the name of your computer! Tell me the name of your computer!

 

It's just PC I told you

 

'Tell me the name of your computer!'

 

PC!

 

-Windows Tech support hangs up-

 

I think the guy probably needed the password of my windows account to 'help me' I did not lie though, my PC is called PC. I 'misunderstood' his intention.

Had this happening a while back too.. After some minutes on the phone with the lady, she said that they were sitting on the roof of my house and they could see from there that my PC had a virus.. :lol: It was freezing outside at the time, so I told her I felt sorry for her because she must be very cold and I hung up.

Yep lol, but she didn't even get to the point of asking the name of my computer.

Well, that wasn't a scam call but a VERY strange phone call :

Stranger: Hello, my name is Watermelon and actually I'm a Watermelon. (He started laughing)

Me: Oh, hello Watermelon, how can I help you?

Watermelon: I'm a very mad watermelon. You should be afraid of me!!

Me: And what should I do about it Mr. Watermelon?

Watermelon hanged up.

 

I don't know what to say.. lol

By the way, he sounded like a 30-40 years old man.
