Welcome, ladies and gentlemen! Today I have special article for you all, in which I will be asking burning questions to our EN community admins. So without wasting any time, let's get to it.

@CooperO

Hey, I'm @CooperO, one of the forum administrators. I've been doing this for about a year now and it's been a great experience so far. It's quite different from my other interests, which are animals and woodworking, but hey, I'd say they make for quite a nice mix.

Russian community now has new and advance forum, are there any future plans for EN forum?

There are plans for the English community forum to be upgraded to the newer forum indeed. However, as you might remember, all the topics on the Russian forum were lost, so it was fairly easy to move to the new forum. That isn't the case with the other community forums. I can't tell you when this forum will be upgraded.

What do you think about tanki in general. Many are leaving this game, what will it take to return to glory days?

If you ask different players what they think are the glory days of TO, chances are they will all give a different answer. In my case, 2012 was my favorite year in the game, because everything was still new for me. I could learn new things, advance through the ranks, look forward to getting that desired piece of equipment and so on. After being here for so long, I've reached a point where I don't really have to discover or accomplish anything anymore. Occasionally I do still enjoy a battle though, but you won't see me playing on a daily basis. As for what's needed to return to the glory days, that's a tough question. I think the most important part is to set a realistic and well defined goal to work towards. Without that, the game won't really go into a certain direction and most likely won't be able to hold a solid player base.

@skeletorXVIII

Before we get started I would like to thank you and your team for organizing Parkour survival challenge. It was successful and joyful as well. So many players wants to know about future of parkour survival challenge, is it coming back anytime soon? Also tell us about Parkour Survival, who came with it?

First of all thank you for having me.

Parkour Survival 2018 was certainly a experience of highs and lows. We learned a lot and definitely still like the concept behind Parkour Survival. But you will not see the contest again in the near future, as we have planned different Parkour contests, including Master of Parkour, which we will help to organize. We do not want to abuse such a great concept as Parkour Survival and let it have some time before taking it out again.

Let's move on to the great Team we had during the contest. All of you surely know @SwiftSmoky, although he left the team after the second challenge due to creative differences, he was a great help and the creative mind behind the first and second challenge and the concept overall.

Our front man was @Ninja, who took quite a beating answering and arguing with the players in the forum topic and in PMs. He also judged a huge number of entries, helped us developing the challenges from the third on and in general was a great help in the contest. The same goes for @Torben_BoS, he helped with pretty much everything, dealing with players, judging entries and creating the challenges from the third onward, although his tasks extended to administration. We should not forget about @Ghost_Animators, @Jaaames and the random Indian commentator for the first challenge, they were the production team, preparing the challenge videos and artwork for the contest.

My task, although I helped almost everywhere, was mostly administering the team and building, using and maintaining the infrastructure for the data. Basically once all entries had been judged and it was time to get the survivors, I developed scripts to automatically select the survivors. Sometimes judges entered false data, in those cases I had to correct the data. (If the survivors were late, it was mostly because of me, as I had to correct multiple data sets. To conclude with the last guy, our German organizer @II.Salvator.II, he took care of the German community during the contest, preparing translations and helping German players.

Please tell us about current on-going events in tanki and also future events which are under work.

Time to speak about the present and future. At the moment we are working on Parkour contests, but as we do not have a parkour expert in our team (@Nikk is currently not available), the development has slowed down. Parkour is still a priority for us, so if you are a Parkour expert and want to see more regularly Parkour contests in the game, feel free to apply for the contest organizer position. We have something huge in the pipe and aiming for a release in July, so stay tuned! Our goal is to run one Parkour contest per month with some break between them.

First of all I would like to congratulate you for successful EN CC, you and your team did fantastic job on organizing it. Let’s talk about current eSports situation. People are criticizing on-going duet master tournament because of the rule which state and I quote “Gladiator owners will not be able to keep the paint unless they win the tournament, briefly if you have gladiator and do not win the tournament you will not keep the paint any longer once the tournament is over”, please explain the reason behind this new rule.

First of all let's get the facts straight: the rule about paint removal is not new. It's been here for a year already (since Domination Series 2). Why did it make the headlines now, I am not sure; do not forget in Domination Series it was about both Acid and Gladiator, this time only for Gladiator. Anyways, the reasons behind this choice are numerous, I saw the comments on the topic regarding how this is "unfair" and "discriminating", but we do not mean to be unfair to anybody.

Simply, the paint is a trophy. If the paint is specifically linked to a tournament format, like Prism or Impulse, it is obvious that you will lose it, unless you conquer it again in the next season of the tournament (but generally we do not hold tournaments so close to each other, and the paint simply expires according to tournament rules). If the paint is more common like Acid or Gladiator though, you may still own it when another tournament with the same paint as a prize is launched. In this way you are not really competing for the paint, like other players in the tournament, because you already have it. So if you do not win never mind, you still have the paint from the previous tournament, but if you win, you obviously can't have two paints at the same time so the prize is kind of wasted, while it could be given to another (almost) equally good opponent.

This process, where you risk nothing but may still take away award paints, is not healthy for eSports. Just think how the people getting second and third would see a paint they almost could grab disappear in front of their eyes to a player that already had it!! That would be a real injustice. So, if the player with the award paint wants to play in the tournament, he has to earn his paint again, otherwise it will be removed and given to a stronger player. If the player wins though he can keep it without any problem, having shown once again he's the strongest. And please do not forget that with this rule you will lose the paint only if it's the same of the tournament's prize: you wouldn't lose acid for a tournament with gladiator.

With this I mean that we do not think we'll be giving the paint to noobs just because they never won it before: we are sure the paint will be awarded to masters of plasma weapons, outstanding eSports players.

2nd League only has 2 clans in it, are you guys planning on filling it up with new clans by having Ranking Cups again?

About second league: the situation is unfortunate. A lot of clans closed and we were left with this situation just after the international championship. However, we didn't want to fix it immediately, and decided for now to focus on other projects and different kinds of tournaments, to create more interesting contents for the community. Obviously, as soon as the dust settles down, we'll get back to clan to find new valuable elements for the second league. Ranking Cups however is not what we have in mind for this purpose.

Hello and welcome Maf! Thank you for joining us here today. Let’s get straight to our discussion. How did you like newly released match making update? Does this fix problem of unbalanced non pro battles which were dominated by druggers and clans?

Before the update, I had a lot of hopes for matchmaking, thinking it will solve all current problems. After all, developers did spend over a year working on the update, so surely the thing they came up with should be great. The system was disappointing at first, but it seems like this was mostly due to unexpected bugs, as well as people getting Legends and Recruits into the same group, making it seem like ranks balance was gone.

At the moment I am satisfied with how matchmaking works. I do dislike the inability to choose maps, although nowadays there are barely any maps I really dislike, so having maps randomised isn't a big issue. On the other hand, being able to join a brand new battle within 5 seconds is a big step forward and makes my experience a lot more convenient. I do occasionally have to wait in queue longer or end up in a half-finished battle, and balance isn't always great (probably around 70% of the time it's decent), but overall I think it's a solid improvement over the previous system and a massive improvement over what we had back in 2015.

Druggers and clans still occasionally dominate and I have seen multiple cases of two separate groups of clan members being put into a battle against a team of non-clan players, so in that sense MM doesn't always seem to work as intended (unless the non-clan players were also in two groups). Can't say anything about MM on low ranks, as I only played it at Legend.

On scale of 1-10 how much do you rate it?

On a scale of 1-10, probably a 6.
If I also count the potential improvements they should have made to PRO battles in the same update (which they didn't), then a 3 or 4.

My name is Oğuzhan and I'm from İstanbul, Turkey. I started playing Tanki in January, 2010 with a friend. Became helper at the start of 2015, since then I am doing my best to help to community.

Most players don’t know about your job so please explain your job to us and also tell us about current on-going facebook events and future facebook events.

Our job has similarities with other helper positions, helping players when they need assistance, but on Facebook. Most people doesn't use game forums, because it looks complicated for them. They choose to contact via social media platforms, which is where we show up! They send a PM/leave comment on our post about their problem, we ask for more details if needed, then we guide them with links about the problem and what to do, till it gets resolved. We make content to entertain players, they can see the latest artworks, community videos or an info about TO that they didn't know about. We also have weekly contest where you can win promo codes with different prizes in it. On special celebrations such as new year or birthday we give away promo codes. We are planning to have different kind of contests in the future, so make sure to follow.

What are your future plans for Hindi, French, and Arabic newspapers? They are inactive and even when they were active, there were not many readers.

Right now, we want to integrate rest of the writers from French and Hindi papers into the English paper. Possibly, we will publish articles from these writers in their own language as well as in English to raise their views. So the readers will have an option to read the articles in international English as well as languages that are spread only in certain countries and regions. What the future holds is a mystery, though. The player numbers are lower as opposed to few years ago so we do not have as many views and reporter applicants in these smaller papers. We will see what changes will mobile update bring. Maybe with some increase in player numbers we will be able to promote these smaller papers again and get new blood.

What do you think about newly released Drones? Have you tested them? What are you positive and negative thoughts about them?

I did not have a chance to try the new drones yet as I am quite busy in real life right now so I can only judge them based on the reviews from the second hand. I heard they can be quite powerful, but on the other hand, the batteries that charge them are expensive as well as the micro-upgrades for drones. We will see how it will affect the balance in a long run.

Also, what do you think about new modules update?

I am really happy about the new module update. It's far easier to work with just 14 protections that you can assemble the way that suits your preferences and gaming style. The old system of dozens of protections was archaic so I am glad Tanki took a step forward.

Thanks for reading! I hope you all have enjoyed it. I will see you next time with another article, until then, be safe and have fun.

What did Supernic really meant about the 2nd league

Any one got any idea ?

They are not worried about 2nd league situation, but they do have some plans for 2nd league. Ranking cups are not in their plan. They will probably come up with something new, I am guessing new tournament.
