Meteor Goldboxes Are Unfair

Recommended Posts

When a meteorite goldbox drops..It's always a light hull that catches it. The only time that heavy-hull users like me ever catch a meteorite gold is when there's nobody around it. You only need to be speedy and nimble to catch a meteorite gold. Two traits a heavy-hull doesn't have. My suggestion, make the goldbox spawn at least 5 seconds after the meteorite drops. That way, everybody will have a chance to catch the gold.

Declined

Heavy hulls usually have a massive advantage when catching gold boxes. They can push other tanks out of the way, are themselves hard to push and have a large surface area. Meanwhile light hulls need some serious skills and quite a bit of luck to catch a gold. Anyway, this is just a temporary event and golds will be back to normal soon.

Or at least instead of making the meteors destroy you, make them push all tanks away from the impact zone and set the gravity around the gold box to 0. It's UFO day isn't it?

Yeah everyone is right meteor gold boxes are un fair because many tanks gather at the gold spot but when it falls everyone are destroyed and the tanks which are before the spot take gold  it should fall normaly nor like meteor .in this way tankers having light hull like wwasp or hornet are destroyed but tankers having heavy hulls like mammoth or dictator ttake the gold box.this is unfair with light hull tankers

Here is my take on this topic:

Goldboxes are Unfair

When a goldbox drops, it's always a Dictator who catches it. The only time light hull users like me catch a gold is when there is nobody around to kill me. You only need to have height and health to catch a gold. Two traits a light hull doesn't have. My suggestion, randomly give a player in the battle a gold without dropping anything, without a siren, so everyone has a chance to get it.

You don't need to be a light hull. I think the only thing you need is momentum going into the gold box. A mistake everyone does is that they wait around the zone. I try moving a little bit farther from the zone and then rushing in, and it works everytime. I caught many of these golds with titan like that.

If I can give you a quick advice, take Wasp or Hornet with any turret, hide behind a wall, and when the meteorite touch the ground, put a speed supplie ON, and run to the gold box!

Can you say the same about Titan/Mammy? Heavy hull users are always the last to get to the gold-box :P Btw, I see a lot of guys get away with the gold simply because the meteorite doesn't kill them  (they were pretty close to the drop point too). I noticed that they had DA activated but I only see this in death-match so can't really see their health.

I now know more. There are light hulls everywhere. For an impact fighter like myself I am finding it most unfair for the light hulls. I ened up on Highways again and it was more of the same.  Les spectacular flips though. But it's not just thatmap light hulls are everywhere.

I haven't come close to catching a GB myself of course.

to be true i got killed getting too close to a meteorite.

but yet i support the idea of destroying near by hulls. that adds an element of fun to the game. it makes people watch out ant not be a klutz (like me) of course heavy tanks find it hard but i think with enough skill(and luck) any one can mine a meteorite.

I like this temporary event to "shake up" the thing with gold boxes where the optimal way to catch a gold box is to just sit yourself down on the point and overdrive, which, as Maf said, is something that heavy hulls have an advantage at. After all, they have more HP and can sit themselves down for longer, and they're also heavier and harder to push off.

Heavy hulls can only use those advantages when they're close to a gold box. The thing with heavy's is that they are slow, clumsy and have the worst turning speed. So heavy hulls can only use the advantage it has in small maps like sandbox or island where they can easily spot the gold box and get there quickly whereas they suffer in larger maps like highways where the gold box is usually far from their reach. Light hulls on the other hand are quicker, so they can easily skim through the map and find the gold box. They can also easily climb up other tanks and jump from bridges/platforms that are above the drop zone. So in my opinion light hulls are usually better than heavy hulls at catching gold boxes.

Dictator beats both though :P
