The self-destruct penalty is there to prevent players killing themselves to avoid giving the kill to the enemy. If it's removed, then players with turrets like Thunder will again be able to self-destruct using self-damage in order to get an advantage in DM and TDM.

Please read again what i said. Those self destructing on purpose wont be losing score.

So you think that if you're fighting a Thunder and at the last second he shoots the wall next to him, self-destructs and doesn't give you the kill, then he shouldn't lose any score or be penalised in any way?

Self-destructing should come with a penalty. It would be stupid if you could just self-destruct at the last minute so the enemy gets no reward for their pains .-. 

 

However, I think that just WHENEVER a player dies, whether by damage, self-destruct, gold box meteor strike, etc. everyone who damaged that tank should get credit for it. This already happens when a player is killed after teammates damage them (the teammates who damaged them receive 5 points i think)  and I think it should apply for other cases of death too

OH MY GOODNESS, i said only two instances of the self destruction will be removed from punishment, the one for changing equipment and the other for being flipped, thunder will still be penalized.

It does. I once got booted from 3rd-4th place to somewhere in the middle because of equipment change.
