Most of the team abandoning the game to try for 1000cry when actually playing well can net you as much.

 

Pah! If it was up to me the gold box would be a random outcome 25% 1000cry 25% nothing 25% overdrive everyone in the area 25% kill everyone in the area. That would be much more fun to watch.

I'm lucky to have caught one meteorite gold.  It was on Highland CTF, and I actually saw the gold coming from the top left corner of my screen.  I'm certain that seeing the gold blazing through the sky helped me calculate my big lunge. 

 

Every one of my 10-15 other nonconsecutive attempts simply failed, and I generally ignored the rest of the meteorite golds that happened to fall during my battles.

I got a container gold today. With my Titan Shaft, of course. There were 3500 crystals inside.

 

The funniest thing is that I caught NO gold box during event but I caught 1 just after it.

I was lucky and got one.  I have been hit by them 4 or 5 times.

 

I have to be too far away to survive the blast and then I can't get to them.  Don't know how I got lucky to pick one up.
