Twins Nerf

OK, I get why the devs buffed it when I temporarily quit TO because in all the polls, everyone said twins was the least frightening turret to face, but it was way overbuffed, because it went from the worst to better than Magnum. 

 

Why is it OP?

 

1. Alterations.

 

Both alterations basically remove all the reasons why Twins may suck. Removing splash, buffing projectile speed and range are the only things twins need to have no negatives on its behalf. 

 

2. DPS.

 

It's damage per hit isn't even that low. The firing rate is, as expected, immensly high. Given the fact that is can fire whenever without being caught off guard without no ammo is just OP. The fire rate also lowers the effect twins protection modules have on it because for most weapons, you will be out of ammo before you kill the opponent with the module. For twins, this is not the case.

 

3. Repair Kit Rebalance

 

The biggest reasons of them all, twins is still a better flag defender than the new buffed-freeze. Basically renders repair kits unusable, as long as the twins player uses a repair kit him/herself, the twins can wreck anyone due to always having double the health of everyone else. 

 

4. Impact Force

 

It legitametly has the same impact force as a ricochet. Given the highefiring speed, it all adds up and is extremely good at knocking off aim and makes it hard for opponents to drive properly.

At high ranks Twins is mostly nerfed by a massive amount of protection modules, but I agree that it needs an actual nerf since not everyone has a 50% Twins module. It's definitely one of the top 3 most powerful turrets at the moment, based on raw stats.

yeah but twins is the most popular weapon among buyers and druggers... most of the arabs who spam drugs in parkour do it with twins... devs probably won't nerf it...

I think so too that Twins needs a nerf, especially its alterations.

Devs also nerfed the repair kit, despite of massive protests of Arab clans, so this would be a smaller thing.

ALL OF THEM DESERVE A NERF.

I don't see any reason to nerf the standard Thunder or Smoky.

Devs also nerfed the repair kit, despite of massive protests of Arab clans, so this would be a smaller thing.

they nerfed the repair but made the repair better with drones... basicaly how they nerfed twins with splash and then brought it back with stable plasma

 

so if you're suggesting a nerf that they'll sell back to us then i'm not interested, thanks

ALL OF THEM DESERVE A NERF.

Thunder & Smoky?    :lol:

 

Replace with Freeze and Shaft (one-shot kills with secondary shot that is almost as good as smoky)

 

Titan-Twins on full supplies is unstoppable.

If anything, please fix the twins vs repair kit interaction. Repair kit should be able to sustain more twins hits. Twins is a better defender in MMS battles than Freeze, which is quite scary.

The simple thing you guys need to understand every turrent has its power it is based on player which they make it OP OR noob FOR E.G. if you hvae fire m2 at rank of warrant officer 1 or less the firebird is OP for the opposite team same here

Smoky one of the game's OP weapons? Did you mean OP or UP? Thunder packs a punch and is common but it's one of the best balanced turrets today. Smoky is effective but hardly over-powered. If anything it could use a smidgen of TLC.

 

IMO reduce Twins impact down and you are done, or nearly done. Maybe a very minor slowing of projectile speed or DPS.  

 

Or as I type it seem if the projectiles were slowed significantly everything else could stay the same. That might work.

The simple thing you guys need to understand every turrent has its power it is based on player which they make it OP OR noob FOR E.G. if you hvae fire m2 at rank of warrant officer 1 or less the firebird is OP for the opposite team same here 

We're talking about balance at Legend ranks, where everyone has M4 anyways. At low ranks yes - a turret is almost always OP at the rank where it unlocks, but at Legend everything should be balanced (in theory).

When Twins fight with Smoky, Thunder or Shaft (arcade shots), the insta-hit weapon hits about 90-99% of its shots (some are missed due to knocked aim, circling, bad concentration etc) and Twins hit only about 50-75% because of slow bullet speed and double barrel.

As @Maf pointed out we are comparing the turrets on a M4 (M3+) level. Both, Vulcan and Rico have a lower DPS than Twins then. In the end it is not only about numbers, but how the damage and the mechanics are tuned together to make a gun balanced.

With the Twins long-range alt. you can use its massive damage to overcome the main disadvantage of its inaccuracy by having a lot faster shots.

For close-range encounters where the accuracy is not a problem either, you can use the other alt. in order to avoid the massive damage to be harmful against you.

Fire has about the same damage like Twins, and mainly Freeze and Isida have more. But Twins can shoot endlessly and is able to shoot from a greater distance. Either nerf the mechanics that overcome the natural disadvantages or nerf the damage output.

Then you must be a terrible twins user. ACTUALLY, Twin's DPS is considerably HIGHER than BOTH Ricochet and Vulcan. Twin's bullet speed doesn't even matter that much, considering most people use the alteration. And your idea of Twins being UP because it's inaccurate and hard to use? Well, I see you complain about Magnum a lot so STOP YOURSELF RIGHT NOW.

I think Twins'd be OP even if it dealt no damage, I imagine problem lies just about entirely in the impact force. Reduce that and we'll all be happy. 

 

Okay, "even if it dealt no damage" might be a bit over the top, but honestly, reducing the impact force would be quite a nerf to Twins. Right now I don't even want a Twins on my own team, let alone on the enemy team  :wacko:

I don't have twins protection and it's a big pain to play against twins users , it's just too hard to deal with them , and if the twins isn't damaged already , I can never kill them

 

please don't assume that everyone has twins protection , just like thunder , people without protections are people who suffer the most

Haha, you are a twins user after all XD If it isn't OP, why use it?

I am a Titan Shaft user but I sometimes use Hunter Ricochet so I see that Twins and Ricochet are perfectly balanced. Twins can fire non-stop but they have shorter range and miss more often than Ricochet. Bouncing ability and Twins splash also often help me destroy Twins in PRO Sandbox CTF. I sometimes switch to Twins when enemies have too much Ricochet protection and I kill more enemies with Ricochet.

It seems that this topic needs to come alive again. As you can see from my previous posts, Twins have few disadvantages including splash, low range, double barrel, low bullet speed and low damage per shot. This is the reason why I was against Twins nerf.

 

Twins have 2 advantages. Infinite fire (brick on Spacebar) and impact force. I did not even mention impact force in my previous posts but I looked into wiki after I fought with M2 Titan Rico against M3 Viking Twins. I had more health and DPS but that insane impact force was against me. No turret should knock heavy hulls like this.

 

Some current impact force stats:

Twins 70-120

Rico 80-160

Smoky 100-200

Thunder 120-250

(if I did a mistake, correct me xD)

 

How to solve this problem?

Nerf Twins impact force by 25%.

Damage or reload nerf is not needed.

If twins were to retain it's impact force, it would need a huge recoil from firing, which could work and make sense at the same time. The damage needs a slight nerf tbh. I feel like its DPS is way too high for a turret that cannot be caught off-guard without ammo.
