Display map and tank combo as new loading screen

 Share

Recommended Posts

The loading screen is boring because everyone's read all the tips. The tips are even outdated, showing images that would classify as "removed features" (for example, the one about protection modules show the old old protection module turret look).

The loading screen would be much more interesting and be more useful if it displayed the map in the background and have your tank combo in the center. Under the tank there would be a row of turrets, a row of hulls, and a row of protection modules.

Under that would be a new revamped load bar, hopefully one that actually loads all the way. Instead of automatically bringing you to the battle once it loads, there should be a "Start" button that will replace the load bar, and you have to click on it to actually enter the battle and spawn. This would be tremendously useful if you are going to be on, let's say, a bathroom break while it loads, and you don't want your tank to spawn before you are ready. Also, this would also give the player enough time to select the tank combo they are going to use before entering the battle.

New loading interface should look something like this:

Of course, there would be another row for protection module selection (i got lazy :P) and the person's actual turrets will be displayed in the slot too (firebird and wasp xt have mysteriously disappeared, just found random images). It would also look a lot better too. The combo selected will be highlighted by a neon green square around the garage picture, just like in the garage.

Oh yeah, I don't know why I forgot to write this, but a major benefit of this is so that you don't have to waste time trying to go to your garage to adjust protection modules or your combo to suit the map you are playing in. This definitely would help people without the fastest internet and garage load times a lot. Also, AFK players wouldn't be able to stall their team for 2 minutes and then getting kicked if they never press the start button. If you don't press the start button in let's say, 30 seconds, you should be automatically removed from the battle.

Yeah, would be nice if changing your equipment during this loading screen time wouldn't initiate the 5-minute change cooldown.

Client loading is way too fast to let you reasonably change your equipment. It should have a play button under it and the game won't spawn you until you press it.

*client problems* lol

I'm sure there's a way around this

this could be fabulously helpful to me even if not others ( But I know it will be helpful for all :P ) cause I use shaft majorly that aids me in massive maps and secondly i use short range turrets mainly in small and congested maps (forest for example) so knowing the map and giving time for me to change will be very kind and helping. This will definitely reduce the impact of MMS on me and many others too.

so really a great and such are not often found.

Happy tanking :)

I like the part where the map is displayed in the background (which by the way is the same as Tanki X), but I don't want my screen to be cluttered by my tank and additional rows of hulls and turrets, as you can already do that in the Garage. Maybe, a more simplistic version could be like this:

Don't copy TX please

Well, matchmaker is already here, so that ship has sailed.

Might as well adopt one of the few good ideas Tanki-X has.

We need a lobby so time is not wasted in-battle switching to map-appropriate equipment, or so your team isn't all rails or all isidas...

A. TX doesn't have a feature like this

B. Even if I did copy TX, how is this a bad idea?

Tanki-X does have a lobby players are placed in while server is looking to fill teams.

Players can see map, battle-mode, and even make-up of the team (turret / hull)

They can switch their "pre-sets" hull-turret combos - before battle starts.

Probably shouldn't add the ability to change equipment on the loading screen, I doubt many people would have enough time to actually use it.

Dude, re-read my post.

My main post says there is a start button added to the load bar. You have to actually press the start button to enter the battle and spawn.

My bad, I guess I missed that part, but that would also be a bad idea. If matchmaking makes a battle of 8v8 then 2 players on one team decide not to hit start the teams would be unbalanced. Though I guess it could be fixed by adding an additional timer which would automatically spawn them if they haven't click the start button in a set time period.
