Is TankiX going to replace TankiOnline?

Would like to make the switch if TankiOnline will be closed any time soon. I don't like TankiX as much, but also not going to play TankiOnline if the developers have a schedule to end it. Any input welcome.

I wouldn't think anytime soon, If they planned on closing I would think they would stop working on features, new game-modes, and the app.

Yeah, when they'll stop updating stuff is pretty much done. I think Tanki X has a better engine overall, much better graphic, but too demanding for my PC(I'm using the CPU graphic card, don't have one installed on purpose). I think their plan is to close Tanki Online when enough people will migrate to Tanki X. This online games have a lifespan of about 10 years I think, and then become obsolete because of the better technology available and players expectations. I wish it wasn't the case with Tanki Online, it's perfect as it is for many years to come, but money talks, as always.

Reasonable question.

This promotion is overtly an attempt by Alterniva to grow the Tanki X. That’s fine. Growth is good.

I also get their perspective on offering a promotion to Tanki Online players. The games are so similar that Tanki Online players are the most likely customers to engage and remain active in TX. They’re right.

But here on the forum, we’re cynical, and we see a lot of talk about shrinking player counts. Now the designers lure us to play a new game. We’re naturally suspicious about the conpany’s ulterior motives and concerned that this may be an attempt to speed up the decline and closure of the game we love to hate, yet can’t stop playing.

But I’m with the mods on this one. Tanki Online is not throwaway, as evidenced by the significant game changes and improvements we’ve seen in the last year and a half. Now we have e-sports, a new War, and Juggernaut all on the horizon. Alterniva is not abandoning this game.

I hope not. Many people dislike TO graphics I however like tanki´s simple and clean graphics / interface much more than those Michael Bays´transformers like graphics from TX. I cant understand why people like those silly cartoonish graphics so much and unfortunately its a plague affecting most modern games. Those tanks resemble a jellyfish with tank parts glued to it and the interface is a mess. Also their progression system and power up (drugs) based pvp is trash.

The graphics on TX is dope, but MM over there sucks worse than here, I did well within my first 10 or 12 battles, and then they put me in battles where I can't even do anything but just die, let alone perform decently.

And the modules system over there makes the game so complicated, that's the main reason why I will always prefer TO over TX, because of its simple game mechanics.

No actually - it was tried by T.O developpers. Developpers thought to upgrade game graphics but they choosed other way - they made a new game instead of upgrading graphics of T.O. They spent all their money to Tanki X . They stopped advertising Tanki Online a long time ago . They started to advertising Tanki X. But Tanki X couldn't get a good number of players. So developpers wanted to back T.O and they started working on T.O a while ago. But they couldn't save this game , tanki is a dead game anymore.

However tanki's number of players may increase after this mobile version.

And another suggestion to tanki - Advertise this game too much. Especially on mobile. Provide too many people to play this game.

No.

It would make sense if you asked this question a few years ago, in 2015, but now it's just silly to ask.

To be honest I discovered TX just yesterday. And I do get the entire cool interface, great graphics, and other tons of bling-bling that too me are totally boring and empty. I really like how TO was coded, everything is fantastic for what it is. TX could also be fantastic, but something essential is missing, like it has no soul. I don't know why I'm saying this, sounds to pretentious, but it's how I feel.

look they said both games were going separate ways last time I spoke to the former Cm. for now I'm still not sold on what was said only cause anything can happen. I have been playing both games and find tanki X has less players then here. not sure if its cause of how the system is or what. I do like more the tanki way of playing over tanki X. I find there ranking system and other things in game is more complicated for new players. they have a wiki but its not enough info in it for now . only cause the game keeps changing and its still new on things.

if they do plan on combining them then I hope they add most of what is here in tanki and remove tanki X game battle system. then it would be easy and more entertaining for players to join. till then .who knows..

I remember that - which is why this entreaty toward TO players to try TX seems so - well, I’m just gonna come out and say it - creepy. It’s as if the designers think we have forgotten their earlier statements regarding the separate direction of the two games and also all the rage which resulted when they told us accounts would not be transferred. That’s all ancient history, right? </sarcasm>

Apparently one judges a game by graphics and interface. There is more to the game. Mechanics and balance is better and more interesting than that of TO.

TX is much simpler than TO . People just get scared of so many new terms.

  • There are no separate upgrades for turrets and hulls unlike TO. So you only have to purchase them once and you can use them at any level. You don't need to focus on 2 or 3 turrets you want to use.
  • There are no druggers. Everyone just needs the modules and upgrade them.
  • The only thing we need to do is play games , get blueprints and upgrade modules when enough are blueprints are collected.
  • Open containers to get cosmetic items. You can get X-crystals for free.
  • There are seasons that last for 4-6 weeks. After each season, you get good rewards.
  • The final goal is to get your modules to high levels and compete in Master League where you get your placement.

If nothing else, tanki would keep it open for the mults, cheaters, gold hunters, campers, snipers, and magnums. That is 3/4 of the players right there.

Camping with heavy hull and long range gun (I use Titan Shaft) is the only way to play Tanki with good k/d and score without buying. So if you see a camper, you see a player who does the only thing which gives him good k/d and score. Camping is our only way to get better garage in a logical time period.
