When using thunder (or other turrets the that do splash damage) and you shoot a tanks carcuss (I.E you shoot it just after it has been destroyed) you deal self damage if you're close to it, but it doesn't damage the enemy even if they are close to the impact. So either self damage should be removed or splash damage should be added.

With all weapons Splash damage is eligible to be removed by purchasing a Alteration.

Yeah splash damage should penetrate tanks (including dead ones) 

Tanks should block the shot but not the splash damage
