TX seems very childish to me...just a kids game.  It seems complex with all the blueprints and types of crystals and all the different types of module upgrades you constantly get almost every game you play, but it is misleading...all that gobbledygook is automatic.  The reality is that it seems all you really have to do is click "Play".  Click Play, shoot shoot shoot drive shoot, collect rewards, repeat...TX

There is no control over anything in TX...well, I guess you can still choose hull and turret.  The battles are all just hack and bash.  The only thing I like about TX over TO is that it takes more shots to kill an opponent....in TO there are way too many one shot kills and some DM battles you only live about second before you are toasted.

The graphics seemed cool at first but got very repetitive very quickly.  Then they became annoying and kind of interfered with gameplay...too much flashing and fussing...needless.  I don't see how TX can hold an audience for long.  It also makes my computer run very very hot which I do not like at all...TX has to be very hard on circuit boards.

TX got boring in 15 battles.  There is just nothing to it.  I voted 1

Gave it a 6. The new graphics are perfect EXCEPT for the tank, which looks uglier imo. X-Crystals seem very pay-2-win. I have enough Crystals for everything at this point in time, but I'm not sure about later. It's also very not user-friendly because of how complex the system is and many times glitches out differently for each system you are using it with. Another problem with the game is the amount of diversity in the game. There are like 4 different maps you can play in and everyone is using thunder or railgun in this game, making it very boring. The game has beautiful graphics, so create more maps! I'm not willing to play Rio or Silence every single battle.

Tanki-X gives very little control over your own progression since the blue-prints are given out randomly.  No matter how much you want a specific path of modules you are at the mercy of randomness.

I absolutely hate the perspective they give of the tank - seems too large and cartoonish, and no matter what I do with camera angle it never seems "correct".

And with limited map selection and no choice of battle-mode the game-play does seem very repetitive.

The number of railguns in the battles are ridiculous - and there's no protection to discourage them.

I don't see how you can put those two things together. "Complex" and "Kids' game" just doesn't fit. Make up your mind  :P

touche

I enjoyed my several games because unlike TO, most players were complete noobs and i got like 8 k/d a few times. he controls are unchangeable so that was a dealbreaker for me. I drive with WASD and turn my turret with arrow keys which cannot be done in TX

I don't think you read it quite right.  I will highlight my point...all in the same sentence.  I guess I was not clear...sorry.

Sounds a lot like TO.

I like TX a lot more than TO. For one, it is more balanced, even with the horrible matchmaking. Two, modules are a great concept and allow for interesting strategies and facilitate quite a few gameplay styles. Three, the game is more competitive. You have to play the objective or you lose rep. Being a midfielder / kill-farmer is much less rewarding than in TO, and it should be that way. Fourth, the game has a much more pronounced meta than TO, and it changes based on balance changes. TO has no meta, because drugs are the meta.

If you've played 15 battles you've played mostly against bots and neither you nor your enemies have a full set of modules yet. I can understand how it seems boring from this point of view.

Interesting...maybe I'll give it another go.  How far do you have to level up, or roughly how many games before the bots go away?

And, you are right it does sound a lot like Neo-Tanki...shoot, shoot, shoot, drive, shoot.  The new Tanki is only a shadow of it's former self.  It is tragic that the devs have made TO so much like TX.  I have a feeling that if I started TO as a true newbie today, I probably wouldn't care for it much, but, at this point, I am emotionally invested since I have spent so much time playing Tanki over the past couple of years.

That being said, I find myself drifting away from Tanki more and more.  I spend more time fooling around on this forums music thread than actually playing Tanki...a lot more time actually.  Matchmaking and it's myriad of evils (long queues, mismatched battles, etc) in conjunction with the homogeneous and repetitive maps has made TO kinda boring.

I've played Tanki X on another account couple months ago and I did manage to get Hunter to Level 10 which is a max level and Thunder to Level 9. Reason is, because I like thunder level 10 design, it looks powerful and big. The main game-play is pretty much boring. I am used to TO and always will be until they soon will shut down.

Does not get better the ore you play IMO.

I hate that the rewards are random - so - you can't really choose  a path for development.  It's like container rewards... oh great - another 15 blueprints for EMP and 1 blueprint for backhit defense... when I never use EMP...

Not sure I agree with your comments about the objective.  Not everyone can Return the flag in CTF.  There's different roles, but Tanki-X rewards the hornet flag-cappers the most.  Talk about loss of diversity.

And then there's Reputation.  Losing 40% at season's end drops you back down to the lower league unless you play constantly.  There's no room for casual players in Tanki-X.

Flag defense is just as important. Unlike in TO, you will certainly lose if you don't try to defend / cap the flag.

This is true; the removal of casual mode or whatever it was called was a serious oversight.

To me, it's pay2win, pay to get all the OP equipment early, pay to get all the OP modules early. Not to mention it's complex. And worse of all, the MM there is blatantly terrible.

OK, I started playing a lot just to go even more in depth of the game to see if when I retire at Tanki, which will be soon I hope, I will play TX casually (no grinding this time).

I realized there is so much bs going on in TX:

I was a Cadet, which is about the 7th rank in the game, who was able to fight up to Silver League (600 reputation points). First Silver League battle, I played a LEGEND (Rank #101) with all Lvl 10 Modules... I was able to have my D/L break even at 8/7... but my team lost and I got sent back to Bronze League. There I wrecked all the noobs in Bronze and instantly got +30 reputation to get back to Silver. Next Silver Battle... 6 Legends... got kicked back down to Bronze League. I got back up to Silver instantly, but now I'm going to sit here till the season ends.

Welcome to TX lol. It seems Alternativa has a talent for making horrible matchmakers. At least in TX they are promising to fix it . . . for months now.

And what's with all the nonsense of dealing more damage on the rear of the tanks? Is the game trying to force them to not use their turret rotation controls?

Most modern tanks have weak armor around the engine because of engine cooling and weight reduction.

In WW2, tanks used weak engines so the side armor was usually divided into top-side and bottom-side (Panzer 4, Sherman, Stuart, T-34, Tiger, Tiger 2, Panther, IS-1, IS-2) whilst the top-side armor was often angled and had more LOS armor. Some of them had relatively strong rear armor (T-34, Panzer 3, Panther, Tiger, Tiger 2, KV series, IS-1, IS-2).

Modern tanks and even some WW2 tanks (Chaffee, Pershing, Cromwell) have the side armor divided into front-side and rear-side whilst the rear-side has reduced armor so the front-side which protects the crew can have more armor. So when the modern tank angles against enemy, it does not risk being shot through bottom-side armor which kills crew but it risks only engine destruction and the crew is safe.

Most modern tanks don't have freeze weapons, and shot-guns don't really work against heavy armor.

In real world those wasp-rails would explode after one shot from turrets like Thunder or smoky.

Tanki-X really has nerfed the heavy hull with things like extra damage to rear - since they don't maneuver very well and have glaring weakness.

I don't think we should be looking for "realism" in these arcade games.

Oh, and Isida says hello. ;)

I agree. Want realism? WoT says hello. (Although there are games far more realistic than that)

Yes. That is the reason why I play War Thunder after completing missions on Tanki Online.

Maf...I was happy to just let this go, but I would like to point out that what you say carries WAY more sway than other posters because you are a Tanki spokesperson and you seem to be a pretty reasonable person on top of that.  So I suggest you be more careful before criticizing posts...at least READ them before criticizing them.

The original post you made was totally unfounded and you only said it because you didn't actually read my post or you didn't understand my post.  As time goes on, other forum members keep "liking" your post because you criticized someone (me)...only because you are Maf.  They obviously didn't bother to read what was written either since in a subsequent post you "liked" my post...the one that called attention to what I actually said...I took this as a defacto kinda-sorta apology and that was fine since it was just a little slip up on your part.  But people keep reading your goof-up and liking it which grates on me a bit.  I can make a fool of myself on my own...I don't need someone to omit or twist what I say to make me an even bigger fool than I already am.
