Make Assault mode like old "reverse CTF"

Get rid of the "one team defends completely" and "one team attacks completely" mechanic because it can never be balanced. 

 

Change Assault mode so that it is like the Old Massacre or Combe CTF, where you bring the flag to the other base. That was very fun.

 

There are 2 Options:

 

1. Literally old Massacre/Combe CTF. CTF but your flag is in the other base and enemy flag is in your base. You have to bring the enemy flag across to the enemy side, kill whoever has your flag, return it, and then capture it before getting killed. 

 

2. Both sides in Assault attack and defend.  There will be a base/point for both teams and there will be flags for both teams. By capping in the other's team point you get 1 point. Whoever has the most points by the end of the match wins.

right now assault is balanced in maps like silence and solimask because red has the advantage of height...

in normal ctf advantage of height doesn't affect that much because you'll have to get in and out...

in some mapsf or one team it's easier to get in but harder to get out and vice versa for the other team

but in assault you just have to get in so advantage in height matters more so this would make certain maps unbalanced for assault

But you do realize that Assault is unbalanced for ALL maps right now, right?

So someting to ASL mode. For evry tight game tehre are 10 game pointless to finish even under the new battle fun rules.  It is a junk mode. Most maps are poorly suited for this mode. So something. It is a mode to avoid most times now.

ASL would be balanced if there were maps designed specifically for it. The mode was clumsily forced onto existing maps, with no changes, so it doesn't work well.

This idea would be more truthful than the current one. ASL currently should be renamed to Attackers VS Defenders (AVD) if it is to stay the way it is.

 

This idea would really make it the true ASL.

what utter rubbish. you need to get out of your la la land

tell me, what maps are actually balanced for Assault mode? 

 

But anyways, this idea benefit ALL maps. Assault mode right now are only playable on a few.

Yorskshire,Barda,Solikamask

will be he most balanced IMO

cause imo in these maps even if the Blues are heavey Red's have some chance and after update Solikamask is more balanced

{around my rank that will be upto Brig }

ASL completely sucks for blue team in Highland, I was on red and we could attack from two opposite angles while blue was helpless in the center

Same with wolfenstein. All the blue just spawned in the middle of the map so all red team needed was a couple of magnums on Double Damage and it's an easy win for them.

I don't think assault mode is anyhow related to what you have pointed. It used to be called 'Reverse CTFs'. Yes, I agree assault can be improved or a mode inspired by reverse CTFs is added.

Assault is sort or related because in both modes you have to score by entering the enemy base and capping there.

Well, in reverse CTF you can take the 'base' away to stop the capturing. And both teams can cap. In assault, only one team can cap. I would not relate these two.

... this is just an idea that would make ASL balanced again, and they are pretty related too each other if you aren't so picky about things....

I call it AVD (Attackers VS Defenders) and it's not balanced right now.
