A Happy Meta is a Light Hull Meta - Light Hulls Suck

 Share

Recommended Posts

People don't like playing a game where you have to spend a minute trying to kill an enemy because all they see are heavy tanks and medium tanks everywhere. You practically see no light hulls anymore except for the occassional isida or that noob XP/BP guy. This is not healthy for the game.

People WANT to kill light hulls because it's easy and quick. If everyone believes light hulls are really good, then they use light hulls, then everyone will have fun killing light hulls.

An m3 light hull right now has about the same health as an m0 heavy hull, which SUUCKS. It's just faster, which doesn't do anything because you are probably dead before you fully accelerate. Step on a mine, insta-dead. Find an enemy not light hull, insta-dead.

We need a light hull meta again but I think light hulls need to be stronger. Maybe more speed, weight, and some armor would help.

M0 titan has the same HP than M4 hornet, that honestly sucks, and I agree with everything, except for the more speed part, they should lower the speed a little, because all other hulls other than wasp and hornet have very similar speeds prior to the next heavier tank, while hornet and wasp are complete  outliers, I think lessening the weight and power of light hulls, keeping the speed, and increasing the armor ( by a lot) would be a good idea, since there no point in having weight and power on a light hull

I use my XP combo while playing normal MM battles , with a little bit of skill I always come on top of the leaderboard (@mostafa2247 account )

they're not underpowered , they're supposed to be "light" , we have medium hulls to use if you prefer HP over mobility

light hulls don't need a buff IMO , medium hulls need a nerf instead

Agreed. I use Smoky-Wasp, and while I will admit that the combo's M1.6, I will also admit I don't use drugs and still top the leaderboards. Unless it's a DM, of course.

Light hulls are supposed to be mobile and fragile. Use that mobility to your advantage.

I've been playing with Wasp-Hammer and Wasp-Magnum for over a year now. I don't want to brag, but I feel like light hulls are just made for the above-average player, one that can effectively maneuver, turn the turret and shoot at the same time. I can easily get a K/D above 2 in any game mode, despite actively playing the objective and enemies targeting me in DM.

So I agree that light hulls make the game more fun, and a light hulls only mode would probably be my favourite thing, but I don't think they are weak. The reduced size and added speed and agility are a bonus that massively compensates the lower amount of HP.

Wasp/Magnum? Wasp/Hammer? KD over 2? All right, now I want to learn how to effectively play them.

I love speed which is why I mostly play with viking because of its speed as a medium hull but I would not play with wasp or hornet because of the fact that it's easy to get killed and I hate that.

Light hulls do better in PRO battles, because you know that the viking freeze chasing you won't use a nitro and repair kit just to kill you.
The game has become fast paced due to increase in every hull's speed. You are using your hornet to evade that viking drugger but another viking comes from behind you. You cannot really survive for long with light hulls unless you have a very good spot to neutralize the medium hulls before they reach you.

I think that the best way to make light hulls better is to nerf viking a bit. Viking is almost strictly the best hull i the game and plays the role light hulls could play. It has good armor and with Speed is very fast. Maybe decrease its speed or HP and suddenly ppl will have to choose between several options

Of course you are top of leaderboards... you are using almost an m2 against noobs with m0.

I don't know... I've played you plenty of times and I admit you are pretty good at this wasp-game. I feel like no matter how much agility and speed you have, along with the ability to knock off enemies' aim with your turret, you can easily be shafted, magnumed, ricocheted, twinsed.

maybe we medium/heavy hull players have to get used to playing with them.

Yeah I agree with nerfing the speed part, but it should also be compensated with a weight buff.

Railgun is a weapon for pros. It is really hard to master. When a noob uses it (yes, some noobs use Railgun to look/feel like pros), it is even a worse noob than the one with Twins or Smoky.

Light hulls need a buff but their health can not be buffed (maybe 10% buff would be OK) because everyone would use it. The speed and weight need to be buffed by more than 10% because it would have no effect otherwise.

How to buff light hulls? Nerf Twins (only impact force), Thunder and Magnum because these turrets are the biggest problem for light hulls.

Exactly, medium hulls are on drugs aswell. Why use a light hull when you can get effective speeds with much more armor.

Even if you're Wasp on nitro, there's no way to go because there will be medium hulls cheaply killing you from the back. On obstacle-rich ground, medium hulls are about as fast as light hulls if you ask me.

Everyone uses medium hulls. They have adequate speed on drugs. They have increased the speed of hulls but the maps have been kept around the same size and layout.

The hull variety is destroyed.

what's a meta?

Most

Effective

Tactic

Available

Basically, it's the most viable current strategy/weapon to use due to buffs/nerfs/balance changes. It's a tactic that most players employ at a certain time and is extremely popular due to the significant balance changes.

I’ve seen you in battle and can attest to how skilled you are with Wasp-Hammer. I keep asking myself how a Wasp can be so hard to kill?

what's a meta?

I think you might better describe a meta as the world in which a game takes place in. For example, when Freeze was buffed, Freeze turrets could dominate almost untested because no one had Freeze protection. Now, however, the metagame is shifting towards more Freeze prot and so people will start using other turrets, and the metagame will shift again.

In drug battles, there is no reason to use a light hull unless you want the challenge. I love using wasp/freeze/smoky, but anytime I start struggling, I switch to Viking because it is almost strictly better. Most hulls are medium
