A Happy Meta is a Light Hull Meta - Light Hulls Suck

Recommended Posts

Playing light hulls requires a different mindset than playing any other hull. I played with Wasp back when it was a two-shot for Thunder. Fun times. I died a lot, but the old Wasp had insane speed which skilled player could do interesting thing with. I dislike that the current Wasp is so slow to accelerate, even if it has more health. Yet I have seen some players play very effectively with it anyway - but again, their playstyle is very different from your standard medium hull play. It's a lot more specialized than other hull classes, and in this respect I think light hulls are fine.

Wasp needs a speed buff / acceleration buff though.

If you don't drug, I'll consider you as mult.

There are still lots of non-druggers in Tanki and you just can not consider this big group of players as mults. Actually, non-druggers have more skill than druggers because they focus on gameplay more than on smashing number keys.

DA, DD and SB make drugger 5,2* stronger so if I fought against drugger and I would end with k/d 0,2 or bigger, I could say that I have more skill than drugger. I have more than 0,5 k/d, by the way. I drugged at low ranks against non-druggers for easy kills but then I realised that I behave like a noob and stopped drugging.

I think that all smart cooldowns should be increased to 30 seconds so nobody would have DA and DD few seconds after spawning.

playing without drugs against druggers makes the game boring and annoying , your logic is flawed , If everyone drugs and you don't , does that make everyone a noob and you're the only pro ????

What if we don't have drugs? Can we be mults then, especially if we play well?

You should earn enough from missions if you keep doing 3 a day. Make the most out of your missions. If you don't do that you are simply missing out potential.

If you deliberately stock up your supplies and not using them in battle you're limiting yourself and the team; no matter how skilled you are.

It is all about canceling out the drugs of the enemy in this game. The whole economy here is based on drugs, go with the system or play pro battles.

It is less important in the lower ranks but I don't want players in my team who think they are pro enough to leave the supplies in the garage. Basically those players are 50% weaker than everyone else.

And it's not all about pressing buttons. Because of the different cooldowns, it doesn't come down to simply pressing a button anymore. There's a sequence to follow depending on the map or even your role in the map.

when did I say I don't drug...don't worry if I didn't I would buy the pro battles pass just for you.

If you drug then you're going with the system and you reach peak performance- no problems with that.

I get how all of you guys say that light hulls are "skilled" hulls, but honestly, you still might as well pick a medium hull so you are not wasting your skill on something almost unusable. Medium Hulls have become too powerful because they do everything well... they used to be do everything "average" but now they do everything well, which makes them OP.

Heavy Hulls do what they are supposed to do well, get kills and tank for others.

Medium Hulls do what they are supposed to do well, do everything.

Light Hulls fail to do what they are supposed to do, capture flags.

Agreed, altough this might just apply to Viking. Hunter maybe too, but Dictator is slower and cannot play all roles perfectly like Viking can

you've no idea how good dictator is , I used it with thunder and it was a perfect fit

i tried thunder with Viking M3 and it wasn't half as good , I couldn't get kills because i'd almost always miss or hit my teammate who's in front of me instead of the enemy , but with dictator my shot goes above my teammates and always hits the target.

so the turret you're using plays a significant role in choosing which hull you should use

medium hulls do everything averagely , I almost always avoid shooting heavy tanks because they just never die , especially if they're druggers , I also miss my hits on light hulls because they're small and fast , especially wasp .

so yeah , every hull has its own pros and cons , you can't choose a light hull and expect to endure 2 railgun shots , on the other hand you can't choose a heavy hull and expect yourself to be mobile and versatile .

Yeah I agree with nerfing the speed part, but it should also be compensated with a weight buff.

So... basically make into a Hunter?

As for this topic... I use Hornet/Freeze on my Major account and it does well.

Early and mid ranks light hulls are useful.  Upper ranks they lose some lsuter.

Too bad they ruined hulls 2 yrs ago when they made them into 3 basic types.  Hornet served a purpose when it was slower than wasp but had better armor.

Sergants might not have many Supplies but no one in the upper ranks can use that reason.

Drugs are a central design feature in this game.

The Queen is the most powerful piece in chess by design.

The very best chess players in the world all use their Queen.

If you played in a grandmasters' tournament  you'd refuse to move your Queen, you'd lose, then you'd declare yourself the most skilled chess player on Earth. Only you are clever enough to refuse to use the most powerful chess piece. so obviously your chess skills are un-matched.

The logic is unassailable. Grats.

Exactly. Viking can be played even with close range turrets because of low height and high speed.

Using Queen in chess is not Pay To Win.

Neither is using supplies - which you get for free.

I prefer non-supply battles because I just find battles boring where you die every 30 seconds.

But If I'm going to do missions I play MM, and since enemies in MM battles are using supplies, so will I.

Do you use the OverDrive when you get the white star?

Using supplies isn't Pay to win either. I have not bought any supplies  One account of mine is nearing 10,000 DDs in stock. Missions earn me more than I use.

The difference between you and me is this: I know how to play TO well and you do not.

If you want to shoot yourself in the foot go ahead. But when you come here and try to vilify honest players for playing the game as intended, then your ass will be handed to you.

Yes, I use OD because it is for free and it helps my team.

OK - that's good.

Supplies are free as well.

Daily missions award them and so do the weekly mission chains.  Unless you play A LOT you should have enough supplies to play daily without having to spend $$ on them.

I play A LOT and I have tons of free supplies and I'm a big drugger too (except for repair kits which I rarely use compared to the others)

I quit the game for quite some time , 3 to 4 years I think

I only play in the juggernaut mode , not so much XP there.

I'm a little bit busy this week anyway,  you should check my stats after the war begins

the problem isnt that light hulls are weak, but medium hulls, (particularly viking) are way to powerful and popular.

light and heavy hulls are "specialist" hulls that often people only play with certain map conditions and situations. with the expansion of most maps, and MMS making it impossible to pick and choose which map to play, the safest route for players now is to just equip viking because it at least will be proficient in any map. in other words, it hardly requires any skill to use.
