New game mode - Damage Counter

This can be 2 new game modes that are basically reworked DM and TDM battles. Instead of counting kills, the game counts how much damage you did to the opponent, so it's basically DM and TDM but less luck involved. 

 

In TDM version, the winning team will be the team with the more damage dealt added up by all the team members. 

In DM version, the winning player will have dealt the most damage to everyone else. 

 

You might think that this isn't all that different and doesn't need to be added. However if you really think about it, the following things can be huge changes:

 

1. Isida HURTS your team. Just because you heal your teammate doesn't subtract for the enemy total. By healing your teammate while you guys are fighting an enemy, you turned your teammate into a punching bag, and the opponent could deal tons and tons of damage on that one target, instead of having to spend time to find someone else. 

 

2. Light Hulls rule this mode. Heavy Hulls should be obvious targets because they give you the most possible damage output without you having to waste time finding another target. If you are a light hull and you die, you can just respawn giving the enemy minimal damage added to their counter. 

 

3. Repair Kits HURTS you. Same logic as Isida, you don't want to turn into a free punching bag AND waste supplies. 

 

4. Less Camping (Low DPS Turrets are bad). Although Shaft and Magnum deal massive amounts of damage per shot, it is a very bad idea to use these because their DPS is low, thus minimizing the amount of damage you deal overall. Camping leads to less action, thus meaning there is less of a chance you have enough enemies to hit. Although camping reduces the risk of you getting hurt, you are not going to win if you don't score.

 

I'm still thinking about just adding some points for getting the kill, maybe like a +1000 damage for every kill you get, but for now it's undecided. 

Edited: I disagree with rewarding anything for getting a kill. Getting kills will have people complain of kill-stealing, which is what this game mode is not about. Also, rewarding for kills makes people afraid to die and I do not want this to happen, hence, that will not happen. Also, I want to see a mode where healing with Isida or Repair Kits hurt your team, which I think will be interesting.

Unlikely to be implemented, but same goes for the other hundreds of good game mode ideas. I like the concept.

WOW genius idea. No camping, no healing and RK drugging, just take that Rico and lets do as much damage as possible...

Camping and healing and RK drugging are not only allowed but under circumstances (especially if kills add to team score) can be very helpful. Speaking of which, kills should also add to team score, not just damage.

I like the concept too. Adding hitpoints of damage counters as a new game mode is such a brilliant idea. I would like to see such a game mode being developed for Tanki Online as a new mode addition.

Match-Maker can't handle any new modes.  There are not enough players to spread out among many battle modes.

 

Too many battle-modes split up the players, and thus makes waiting times too long, or forces a wider rank-spread in battles.

 

Any new modes should be relegated to Pro-Battles.

Makes sense, it would hurt the economy of the game. Devs want us to spend tons of repair kits.

This is arguably one of the stupidest things I have ever heard of in a while. *no offense*
