Before a game starts there are two screens -- what are those?

1.  The first one says "Preparing for Battle" and there is some time that is stated as average and another that is actual.

AFTER that screen THEN

2.  There is the Screen of endless green progress bar.  What is that?

I thought the first screen was the preparing part....what is the second one?

1. There are two specifications in the "Preparing for Battle" screen:

  • Average Time: Average time taken by the MM system to find a suitable battle.
  • Actual Time: The time currently the system takes you to send you to a battle (varies with no.of.tankers)

2. The second screen is "Loading Bar".

It is an indication to you, that a battle has been selected for you and you are about to enter the battle with some time for server to process.

During the "preparing for battle" screen, you are in queue for the Matchmaking system and the system is looking for a suitable battle to put you in. You have the option to cancel the wait if you want. When it switches to the loading screen, it means the battle has been found and is loading. You can't do anything but wait for the battle to load at that point.

If the loading bar increases smoothly but decreases by a somewhat quadratic rate (it will never reach 100%) then that loading animation is fake. It will sit there 99,999% finished and then the server connection error shows up. The server has never established connection in the first place.

You can save time by looking at the way the loading bar increases. Is there's stuttering and hiccups, it means that the server responded and it's finishing multiple tasks before the battle is prepared and connection is set up.

The first progress bar that comes after "Preparing for Battle" sends you to the server where the battles is and after you get into that server (hidden server) the chosen battle starts loading so you get second progress bar and it may take long time to load if you are playing in that map for the first time.

there is actually 3 progress bars  I guess the first one is just for locating the battle.

Same thing for Pro Battles btw

True it's fake - but making a real one would increase loading times...
