Sensei's Plan - How to Save the Game

 Share

Recommended Posts

I know I'm not part of the TO company, nor am I experienced nor qualified enough to run a company such as Alternativa; however, as a member of multiple gaming communities, I feel like I know a good solution to save TO.

The General Gist if you are too Lazy: Shift TO to mobile (which has started thankfully) and gaming consoles such as XBox and PS4.

Let's face it, internet browser games are no-longer popular. When people want to play a game, they get their gaming console if they are at home, likewise, on the road, they would pull out their phone.

This game has tremendous potential on gaming consoles such as XBox and PS4 (it has more potential than TX) It would definitely be able to run smoother if used on a gaming console, so the barrier that prevents many people from playing is removed. There will be a larger audience if moved to console, and if you make this game P2W (so basically free to download and play), this will become extremely popular because millions of kids would download it and install it. Considering that this is free, I believe that players will be willing to give it a shot, just like how Fortnite took the world by storm.

Alternativa also has to stop investing time in TX, because although I don't have any statistical data, I'm pretty damn sure that Alternativa's profits from TO are way higher than in TX. Even though TO is already in its downfall, TX has already fallen. It has reached the maximum potential in graphics, and if the gameplay truly is that bad in TX, there is no worth spending time investing more time and work hours trying to make it more appealing, it has already failed.

If Alternativa put all the time creating TX into making a mobilized version of the game and put it on a console, we would see about 500 000 players online in the peak of the day.

Keep in mind, online browser TO will still exist.

So, let me hear your feedback, I'm still shaping my plan as of now.

Someone spending $400 on a console, and another $400 (together $800) for a nice TV won't be playing Tanki Online, unless they are one of those who think defending your Capital in the current edition of War is a good strategy.

Lame.

And, anyway, playing games such as TO on mobile and consoles are heck of a pain.

For me, if TO moves to mobile & gaming consoles only, then it is done for me.

First, my mobile won't be able to run TO. Second, i do not own any gaming console ( and not honestly not planning to since i have PC in which i play)

I don't think i'm the only one with same circumstances... so honestly I doubt this could work :(

Also you could've posted it in Idea & Suggestions since it's a suggestion itself  :)

Explain Fortnite. No one bought a console to play Fortnite.

You are comparing a far much bigger game with totally different mechanics with TO. Plus, more people play Fortnite on their PCs than those who play on consoles or mobiles.

And, anyways, PC numbers AND gamers outnumber console and mobile gamers by a large margin (#PCMASTERRACE)

Do take time and think about the consequences in revenue for Alternativa Platform.

Edit: As for you saying that people will already have gaming consoles (expecting atleast a Xbox 360 or a PS3), why would they just play this game when there are far much better alternates for them (which will run fine, since consoles games don't really need to be optimised for a large variation of hardware) that will run butter smooth at 60 FPS on their consoles?

I suggest you to take sometime before posting a single reply. Don't rage if someone disagrees with any of the stuff you post. Drink some water, cooldown and ask them as to why they disagree with you.

Seriously, people like you would just ruin this company at a single click.

I kinda agree with you on the mobile. But I'm pretty Damn sure that TO can run smoothly on console. Edited by DieselPlatinum

I meant, "Heck of a pain to play" as, controls will be hard for those platforms.

You insult me, I deserve to insult you. Simple. Bear in mind that although your ego might be as big as an elephant, people think smally of you. I have nothing else that I want say.

TO (despite this game is supposedly for mature audiences) is a kids game. Kids play most of their games on mobile and consoles. As you can see right now, TO is not surviving as a computer game because computers are mainly for adult/mature gamers (serious folk)

I don't think the controls will be that bad on consoles. Basically like an FPS game controls and then the A, B, X, Y (or square triangle circle) buttons will be for supplies and whatnot.

Even <18 are now playing games like Fortnite and other battle royale games.

And as for actual kids (below even 10), most don't have access to computers/consoles/mobiles, and even if they do, its moderated. If you ever have seen the chat in the game, you would know that no sane parent would let their <10 to play this game.

Still, I'd rather prefer playing WoT than this game on consoles (not mobiles tho :3).

Edit: What I said was no insult, whatsoever. I just can't believe you took it as one.

And my main disagreement is with converting to ONLY mobile and console. Making a port for mobile and console is another thing, which I completely support.

I don't think TO would do very well in the console market. I strongly disagree with your notion that console has a larger audience; it doesn't. Many people have a PC, whether they use it for gaming purposes or not, but not everyone has a platform specifically for games. As for mobile, maybe it has potential, but it would be foolish to place all hope in it and forget about the PC version. Browser / client TO is the main platform after all.

It honestly makes no sense to make TO mobile compatible since there is no way to make it simple to control. Where as consoles is very similar to pcs in the simplicity of controls. The shortcuts might be a problem for consoles, I bet they are on the mobile version, but I think the shortcuts aren't really needed. Plus there sure as Hell ain't gonna be no keyboard ghosting on consoles.

I don't have a mobile nor do I have a console. Why are you trying to eliminate a sector of the Community? Are you positive that there will be such an increase of popularity that not only will you be able to replace us, but then add more players? If so, I want to see some proof of your investigation and research. I want to see numbers, pie graphs/bar graphs that substantiates your claims with resource notations.

Well they made a game code for variable hull rotation speed. In the mobile version I can choose to slowly turn my hull when I have my finger closer to the center of the controls.

This means that variable hull rotation speed should be possible with an analog stick aswell and that would fit just right in the game controls.

I sometimes have a Logitech game controller ( rumblepad 2) plugged into my pc. With controls mapped like this:

- Left analog stick for turning the turret;

- Right analog stick for turning the hull;

- R1 for shooting (holding does not work unfortunately)

- 1, 2, 3 and 4 for drugs;

- L1 + down for mines;

- L1 + right for overdrive;

- L1 + up for gold boxes;

- L2 camera up;

- R2 camera down;

- main logo button;

- 9 - R;

- 10 - Shift;

- mode for mines, don't really know why;

The experience is a little worse than on mouse and keynoard. It's mainly because of the joystick delay and the fact that the game either does no action or full action.. not like the mobile version.

Personally I would like to be able to relax on the couch with a controller and playing T.O.

What about variable hull movement speed (cruise control)? Imagine that M3 Viking, Hunter and Dictator attack together. Viking and Hunter need to stop sometimes so they will not ram the Dictator from behind or get away from Dictator. In order to prevent such distraction, Viking and Hunter could push a key which slows them to the exact speed of the allied Dictator. I think it would be a quite good idea (yes, also Wasp could slow itself to the speed of Mammoth because Why Not?).

Just Fix the technical issues , and just with that we will see a lot more increase in player base

Maybe not the player number but the current player's will play for more time if the thing's were fixed

It is so frustating to play with these thing's around most just do Daily mission and go off  :(

Until the Devs stop adding new things to the game and start concentrating on the bugs and glitches, they will blame it all on our computers. I've seen it happen several times over the years. We are told to clear caches, update browsers, uninstall and reinstall client, etc. Then lo and behold, one day we get an announcement from the Devs that some bugs and glitches have been fixed. I'm saying to myself, "Uh-huh, just what I thought. It wasn't our computers after all." Unfortunately, the Devs are so busy expanding the game, they lose track on how the game is running as a whole. If you don't keep track of the bugs and glitches and fix them right away, they start having a domino effect. All it takes is a hairline crack in the foundation for the building to come tumbling down.

I don't know. I switched to a different computer + client and practically all the glitches and bugs I encountered disappeared. No crashes, no skyboxes and parachutes disappearing, no critical errors, no-damage bug was gone, performance was fine.
