What is Discord?
Discord is a free voice and chat communication platform designed specifically for gamers. It combines the features of both communication giants TeamSpeak and Skype into one free, secure and an organized software. It primarily specializes in text, audio, video and image-based communication between users from around the world. It builds up on its success essentially from the features it sports, some of which are free communication, IP and DDoS protection, support for browser and mobile, in-game overlay, keybinds, low latency and so on.
 
Discord is available on many platforms, including: Windows, iOS, macOS, Linux and Android. Discord has now become a vital part of the Tanki Online community, and thus, you should learn how to get things running in it. 
 
 
How to Download/Install Discord
Discord supports all kinds of platforms, be it PC, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS, you name it, Discord will get you going. In order to download this amazing software, simply head on over to its official website, or exactly... here: https://discordapp.com/download.
 

 
Discord extends its support to browsers as well, so you do not need to download it at all, instead just open it through the website. Go to the official website, register yourself, log in and voila, you're in!

 

 

 

The Server

 

As a member of the server, you'll gain permissions to reply to many dedicated chats for a variety of topics, for example eSports, share images and videos, link your livestreams, get instant answers from the moderators, interact with bots and much, much more. You'll also gain the ability to look for games in their own channels so that players from around the server can team up with you and play the game. Intrigued? Let's begin!
 

 

1. Joining The Server
 
As soon as you join the server, you will get pinged by a bot displaying an important message. It will ask you to verify the rules and the terms of service by reacting to a specific message in the #rules channel. Once you have read the rules, click on the checkmark emote and you'll be good to go.
 
Please read all the rules carefully, breaking them may lead to a warn/ban.
 

 
 
2. Chat Channels
 
Once you get the Members role, you'll instantly gain access to multiple chat channels. Note, keep discussion regarding a topic in its own specified channel, unless allowed otherwise. First and foremost, some important channels:
 
#welcome -- specifically made for every tanker who joins the server.
#rules -- basic rules of the server, read them carefully!
#announcements -- channel where all announcements will be posted.
#information -- all roles, descriptions and the permanent invite link.
#faq -- all frequently asked questions in one place.
#status -- a newly launched feature, in which updates regarding the game's status will be posted.

#suggestions -- pool of all suggestions made by the players.

3. Voice Chat Channels

The Tanki Online Discord server provides members with the opportunity to play together using direct looking-for-games chats as well as tons of voice chat channels. To access them, you must first agree to the rules and terms of service by reacting to a message in the #rules page, as aforementioned. As soon as you've done that, you'll be allowed to join these channels and play with other players in the server, be it someone random or your friends!

Remember to keep all looking-for-games requests in their own, dedicated channels. For starters, we've made three such channels:

• #lfg-mm -- if you're looking for a non-pro game via the matchmaking system, request it here.
• #lfg-format -- if classic or light format is your thing, this is the chat to go.
• #lfg-parkour -- and finally, if you can't withstand the heat of battle, here you go.

Once you've gathered a number of players, all of you can easily join a tandem (two), squad (four) or a hex (six) voice chat channel and blaze your way to victory!
 

 

Last but not least, we've also made a system (shown above) where joining any voice chat channel will automatically open a private chat channel for you - as well as all of your friends who are in the same voice chat channel as you - so you can essentially talk/chat without others seeing it. This can useful for a number of stuff, including but not limited to sharing battle results' screenshots, sorting out disputes and general discussion of battle strategies.


4. Bots!
 
Bots are an incredible asset of any server - they can help with everyday tasks, moderation, organizing events or giveaways, automatically doing certain tasks to name a few. Each bot doesn't only consist of a unique component in the server, but also acts as if it's keeping the server hinged together.

 

For example, with Dyno, you are open to an infinite amount of things to do, but in the sever, we've set up a few commands just to keep the conversations flowing and the general interest in the community at a decent level. Some of them are as follows:

• !nickname [NAME] -- Change nickname.
• !idea [iDEA] -- Make a suggestion.

 

Additionally, to give yourself a rank in the server as a role, react to the following message in the #faq channel.

 

 

Command to report someone in the server:

• !report [uSER] [REASON] - Report someone.

Please use this command only if necessary, as every report is logged with the names of both, the reporter and the violator. Fake and inconsistent reports are not appreciated!

 

 

Godmode_ON and Nives-o-Bot

 

Special bots tasked with automatic and manual moderation of the server.

 

 

Music Bots

 

Members are not authorized to play their own music in the server. Not only we want to establish an environment where all tankers respect each other and not play inappropriate songs but also eliminate the possibilities of some people doing stuff like skipping all the tracks from the queue, pause/play the player, disconnect the bots and/or generally annoy a lot of people. Our Discord Moderators and Discord Helpers will always be available to play your favorite music all day and night long, don't worry!

 

There's also a Radio 24/7 where a bot will play music indefinitely, so if you're looking forward to sit around and admire other tanks in a Silence Parkour today, feel free to put on your headphones and blast some music!

Important Info & Recap

 

Here are some key points about the server:

 

➢ Click on this link to join the official Tanki Online Discord server. Once in, you'll be pinged by a bot with an important message. Follow what it says to get your permissions role to access the server's channels. You can do so by reading the rules and accepting the terms of service (by reacting to the message in the end).

 

 

➢ Read the rules and the guidelines set up by the Administration, breaking these may lead to to a warn/ban in the server, up to a complete block. You can find the rules in the #rules chat channel.

 

➢ All official game rules are in effect in the server. This means that we do not allow any of the following activities: flooding/spamming, advertisement, offensive or racial content, extreme content (such as sexually suggestive or pornographic messages), threats, slander, flaming, discussion about hacks/cheats or bans, fraudulent and illegal activities etc.

 

➢ Server members do not reserve the right to freely change nicknames. This has been made so that the possibility of fake, inappropriate or offensive names is eliminated. To request a change, simply do the !nickname [NAME] command, which is explained above.

 

 

➢ Voice chat channels in the server are for playing that are playing Tanki Online together, please do not idle in them alone or use them for playing other games.

 

➢ If you see anyone breaking the rules in the server, we urge you to report such offenders and violators to the moderators using the !report [uSER] [REASON] command.
