New firebird does really show what afterburn is capable of!

Fire is OP in no supplies battles, but not in drug battles. The reason is that DD does not increase it's afterburn, yet DA decreases it. Also, if you are done killing it, your RK will fully stop the burning.

So, M4 Firebird actually deals 850 damage per second in drug wars. 1000 in NS battles.

So in Noise CTF full drug and non pro battles Freeze is likely better.

We need it's damage nerfed, while the burning should be affected by DD.

Burning IS affected by Double Power. Anyways, with DP, you can get a bonus 600 damage per second from the burn, which is a monstrosity.

No, the burn damage is not affected by DP.

I’m a Firebird noob, but I just switched to using it on my main (this account). I can pretty consistently get first or second place and 500+ crystals out of 10min MM battles (the ones that aren’t one sided slaughters of my team). With premium, I’m pulling in 1000-1200 crystals per battle.

The new afterburn is killing tanks after I am long gone, and in team battles, I’m getting score credit for a ton of enemy damage.

Just like they did with Freeze, I expect the designers to dial back the potency of this new Firebird a bit. Hey nothing lasts forever.

Firebird noob?

Firebird, Freeze and Twins are the easiest turrets to use. They require basically no skill. Take Hornet or Viking, rush with full drugs and huge DPS does its job.

You forgot Isida.

You forgot Isida.

Isida is special because of its healing ability and when it gets knocked by Twins or Rico (or Smoky with M1 alt?), it has problems with dealing its full DPS (the enemy gets outside your cone angle when you are knocked by Twins or Rico).

Isida really is no longer a noob turret. It’s been nerfed in just about every way possible (reduced healing, removed vampirism, reduced scoring, ineffective against burning/freezing, reduced cone angle).

Now Freeze and Firebird both get significant buffs. I’m amazed anyone plays Isida anymore. But it does still manifest in support roles - Isida Trains and keeping that fatty Mammoth Vulcan from self immolating.

And Firebird may not take skill to use, but there are some skills which make Firebird even more demonic. For example, don’t waste fuel killing your enemy. Burn about half your energy, then leave and let afterburn finish him off. The rest of your reserve is ready for the next enemy. I’m sure there’s more, but like I said, I’ve only been using for a few days.

It's pretty sad, at this point the afterburn is completely insane, I mean, if you are playing as a Firebird and encounter another Firebird with the same hull, same microupgrades and a DD, the DD doesn't matter, you both are gonna die, just for the afterburn.

At least that's what I've ± noticed.

Even the hull does not matter. No medium hull can withstand M2 Firebird.

Firebird is the easiest turret to use in the game, far easier than twins in which you have to direct the plasma. I always favour it to freeze as a quick puff of napalm is enough - the afterburn does half of the work for you. The nature of the flame means you don't need to be accurate and you can hit multiple tanks and it's far more effective than twins splash.
