Too Many Goddamn Noobs On My Team

 Share

Recommended Posts

It's been a while since MM has taken place and practically made tanki go from a 4/10, to straight up horsecrap. I like the idea of MM, it's suppose to put you in FAIR battles based on the amount of Noobs , Mediocre Tankers, Pros, and Buyers. Unfortunately, these idiotic devs mess up by a whole mile and we end up seeing battles where there's 8 Regulars-Buyers vs 4 noobs and a Regular. It's honestly pissing me off causing me to go wild ape crap because I've never found a battle with normal teammates, I always end up having to carry those brainless gold diggers by a whole 200-400 points against a whole team of Mega Buyers or Pros. Basically, STOP RELYING ON ME TO CARRY NOOBS BECAUSE YOUR MM CRAP ISNT WORKING OUT, ONE SANE PERSON LEAVES BECAUSE ITS' UNFAIR, EVERYONE ELSE WOULD LEAVE THEIR CRAP TEAM TOO

In Tanki Online, matchmaking refers to the process of distributing players into battles based on their rank and other factors, resulting in a fair match where players or teams have equal strength. The goal of the system is to allow players to quickly join battles and have fair and balanced games.

As a Captain, I was put into battles with with Generals. That's fair and balanced? Maybe for the opposing team. As a Colonel, I'm put into battles with Field Marshals and I'm the lowest rank in the battle. Would you say I was an asset to my team? I was more of an asset to the opposing team. In these cases, I felt I was more of a hindrance than an asset to my team, so, I logged out of the battles to make room for someone who could possibly help the team better than I.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you were queued in a team battle mode, a team balance system will first balance the teams to make them more or less equal to each other.

"....balance the teams..." I don't think they are balanced.

"...make them more or less equal..." Do we really need MMS to make a battle more or less equal? We can do that on our own without MMS and probably do a better job of it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  •  Once the game starts, a preparation period of twenty seconds will start, with the words 'Prepare for battle!' written on top, with of course, the timer counting down. In this period, crystals and experience can't be gained and damage can't be dealt to the enemy.

I don't recall seeing this at the top of the screen at the beginning of a battle. Damage can't be done to the enemy, huh. I'm going to have to check this one out.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the matchmaking system, every battle will start from exactly ten minutes. Joining a battle in the middle is still possible, but the system favors creating new battles more than making people join battles that are already underway.

I think someone forgot to show this to MMS. It isn't very often I'm put into a battle from the beginning. Many of them are less than 3 minutes. When I am put into a battle from the beginning, I have to do a double take to make sure I'm seeing it right. I think it favors shoving a player into an empty slot rather than creating a battle from the beginning.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The above excerpts were copy and pasted from Tanki Wiki.

To @Delta_Rail: I think the above excerpts goes along with what you are saying and feeling. You are not alone in this boat.

I think one of the main issues is the rating system. We were given this extremely advanced system that would be able to tell us/the game how good we are, so it can then pit equal rated people against each other.

Unfortunately, the calculation is clearly terrible.

I would say that this is because the biggest factor is rank. Simply ranking up increases your 'efficiency' by a few thousand. In theory then, a team of M0 WO3s would beat a team of drugging M2 WO1s. As if. Also, if you look at their ratings, my main account is roughly 1.5 times more 'efficient' than my alt purely based on ranks, which is ridiculous.

I have a vague hunch that it also doesn't take into account someone's propensity to drug, which would explain a lot.

I was recently put in a battle where their worst person's KD was more than the total kills of the 3 worst on my team. The game was actually quite close (3-2 to them), because I captured 2 flags whilst managing to do all the defending as well.

I just joined a battle which had already lasted 5 mins and enemy team was leading in 5 - 0.  I left the battle.

Whats even worse is that there's  these idiots that are screeching to devs about installing a system where you get punished for leaving unfair battles

When players started making this suggestion one of the Mods said that the Devs were considering it. That was before the battles were reduced to 10 and the increase of individual funds. The crystal incentive still isn't high enough for players to stay in a losing battle. The funds have to be more proportional to the next M? not the next M?.?. In other words, if you have an M1.0 the funds have to be more proportional to M2 not proportional to M1.1.

I have to give the Devs some credit in area. When I first started playing Tanki, the losing team got 0 funds if they didn't meet the objective. Say in CTF, if the losing team didn't get at least one flag, they got 0 funds. But one flag would put them on the scoreboard and get a small (very small) portion of the funds. So players stayed, teams strategized in team chat, we encouraged each other to stay and help to get that one flag. But that privilege was taken away from the EN community as an incentive to......QUIT. (Oh, oh, I see someone bringing the the soap box, so I better stop there).  Anyway, when it was announced that the losing team would get a portion of the battle funds, we players were ecstatic. But it turned out to be not worth a pee in the sea. Now, they have increased the funds according to the individual participation. It's still not enough, especially for the none buyer.

Ok. I'm done for now.

Yeah but then again players shouldn't be obliged to carry a whole team of Buffalo kits against Fully MUed Matrix Kits, that's when MM gets out of hand, if Battles were fair in the first place, we wouldn't have people leaving

Leaving battle is the best for the player who was forced to join losing team in middle of the battle.  Anything else would be waste of time.

yes you're right, but punishing people for leaving would be contributing to making the battle fairer.. i know the system isn't doing what it should but, this rule would be helping.

The ones making this suggestion aren't thinking through the different scenarios thoroughly, like getting spawn killed for 5 minutes or a team that has 4 good magnum players and your team has none.

I feel you.

Most of the battles I play in from my @Total.Skill account (which has Keeper kit micro-upgraded to M2), I have to carry a team full of M0, non-turning noobs (newbs/newbie doesn't equals to noob) and have to carry them against a team of M2s...

I do succeed in carrying, mostly, though. :3

For mults? No

For those who have a death wish? No

For those who are dumb enough to think they can take on a whole team single handedly? Yes.

However, leaving isn't always a bad thing. When I'm put on a team with higher Generals, Marshals and Field Marshals, I don't think I would be an asset to the team. So, I quit to make room for someone better than me.

Punishing players for leaving battle?  Who even thinks that kind of option? Really?  oh my, oh my.....

I'm pretty sure that if you try to escape during a battle without being ordered to you'll be shot instantly..

Not if half my team is idle or doing more talking than playing... time to exit.

Or when a Major is brought into a Legend battle with that silly "battle group" function. It becomes a handicap.  Either the Major leaves, or I do.

I tried that. Even with DD activated I was doing very little damage (single digits) even though the tanks I was attacking didn't have protection against Vulcan. I was one shotted many times with full health. I became a target. If being a team player with a team mindset is wrong, then I'm guilty as charged.

maybe they can make it such that they punish people who leave but... if they can prove that they left because matchmaking goofed up (like recruit sent to a lagend battle) then they'll be compensated..

It's a non-starter.  Punishing players does not work.  Fix issues with matchMaker and you will reduce the drop-outs.

I say "reduce" because you will never eliminate it.

See my examples at top of this page.  Nothing you can do to make me play 8 vs 4 (even though MM thinks it's 8 vs 8).

this rule should be applied, but only after MM gets its crap together, for now we should be able to leave until MM is actually fair
