Tanki Online Community Discord is OPEN!

Yet, the administration thought that this would be a better place for moderators to put their valuable time into, rather than doing their assigned work.

Discord has its own dedicated team of Tanki helpers, who have the time and desire to work there. This server is equally important as the forum, help site, facebook or anything else our community has to offer, so there is no reason to assume that its management will have adverse effect on other communication platforms.

it seems the mods did there the main ones liking it , check out the top three comments . why do players need another chat room . what to post contest and other events now to take place for players . what a waste of time and money for tanki. they should be spending it on the game issues with MM system then this .

If they can make their own servers, why in the world would anyone ask for a Tanki one?

Just because they want Tanki everywhere in their life?

I would have preferred bugs getting removed, and a well-thought update over something useless that isn't even integrated into the game.

An official server gives players a much better opportunity to talk to each other and organise in-game activities. Not many people know how to and have the time/desire to start their own discord channel, so this is a great way to get players closer together in a fun and organised manner.

More importantly, the developers played no part in this project. Everything was done by the three admins mentioned in the first post, under supervision from . The fixing of bugs, improvement of the MM system and anything else that developers work on is happening parallel to this and was not affected by this project. It is fully independent, meaning that it also did not require any developers' time or money.

Guys, having Tanki Online Discord doesn't take away any time from the developers, it was created by a team of volunteers.

Join the server or use any of the other social media, Forum and in-game channels for communication -- the choice is yours.

Destrod and Discord rhyme for a reason, which is why I'm sure that this server will be a no-lifing tanki player with bad grades a great success!

I don't understand why is everyone just hating on this project.

Think of it this way. You are a surgeon (the devs) and this patient (the game) comes in with a stroke (how broken the game is). The devs prepare all the tools (programming + time) but instead of operating the patient, he gets a paper cut (the idea of TO Discord) and then all of a sudden he panics and he sends himself to the ER to get a band-aid for his paper cut. After he spent so much time and effort over something that isn't even important or should be prioritized, the patient still has a stroke (the game is not fixed) and he/she's condition has become worse and has less time to be cured.

However, it looks like Moderators (not developers) have created the Discord so maybe that wasn't such a waste of time.

Yes, and @Cedric Debono is the cause of strokes and cancer.

Please shut the server down for 24 hours until the hype dies down and everyone joins, there's so much spam right now.

Then the hype will start again once the server is back up. For now let's just wait and see how the situation develops. It's likely that everything will settle down.

There are plenty of helpers who have the time and desire to maintain this server, so it will not affect other fields of work (like chat and battle moderation). Also, keep in mind that developers played no role in this, other than giving approval for the creation of the server.

I've seen Discord servers with ~150k members in them with no slow mode yet you have one for a server with only ~1.5k members...
