actually I believe that both loop quantum gravity and string theory could be true. I know that they have disprove each other in lots of ways but... I think that these 2 seperate theories about what the universe are made up of are like.. what people thought light was before. before, wome thought that it was a wave while others thought it was particles. now, we know that it can both be a wave and a particle.

obviously, from what we know now, if one were to be true then the other would not be able to be true. because after combining the 2 (anti de sitter's space time) would give a negavtive cosmological constant while ours has a positive one.

of course, so far all the explanations I read for both string theory and loop quantum gravity make sense to me. Of course, if someone knows about something new that could disprove either one I would love to hear about it.

actually, aftrer thinking about string theory for a while... I think maybe they're gonna discard it soon. because for now they just keep on adding dimensions for it to work... It's not like i think they will realise that string theory is wrong but rather i think that they will come up with another theory derived from what they have gotten from string theory. 

 

so i think that soon it will be whatever they call this string theory 2.0 vs loop quantum gravity...
