Demote noob Legends to Marshal

so when a battle mod notices a legend playing very poorly he places a flag on that name. after a certain amount of flags gets placed on a name that legend will be demoted to marshal and will have to work his way back to legend again.

this way that player will have a better chance to learn to play better while at the same time not be such a big burden to every team he gets placed into.

anyway everything can already be unlocked at marshal and it's very common to see marshals with m4s so it's not like anyone can abuse this to get equipment above their rank..

Knowing how much developers value the fact that less capable players are given the same opportunity to play the game, I really doubt that anything like this would ever happen.

I am absolutely surprised that @Maf actually placed this Under Review instead of Declined, however, this is the greatest idea in the all of I&S thread. 

 

But anyways, there should be an auto-flag clear every month or two, so if you do get your act together, you wouldn't still be in-danger of getting demoted to Marshal.

but don't you still get the same oppourtunity to play the game as a marshal?

 

besides, the rank system is based on the military's... and there if you don't perform as you should you do get demoted too.

I think there's should simply be a better MM system that separates players by equipment AND their ability to play. So you get matched based on how quickly you get kills and score, how many keys you press, how much you move your tank and turret, your hit accuracy, the variety of turrets and hulls you use, etc., rather than just plain rank and gear, which current MM seems to use.

I am absolutely surprised that @Maf actually placed this Under Review instead of Declined, however, this is the greatest idea in the all of I&S thread. 

 

Idea has very little potential and I'm 99% sure it will never be a thing, but I feel like it has good potential for discussion and improvement of the concept.

I don't really agree with this idea. For example, I'm trying to complete my missions but  I have severe lag, so I can't play properly. A battle mod comes along thinks I'm playing bad and flags me, then another mod flags me again, and again, and again, until I get demoted back to Marshal. So I get demoted to marshal just because I have bad internet not because I'm playing bad.

Maf's comments here are good. The suggestion, however, is nonsense. It cannot accomplish anything good. It will only annoy and frustrate players. The only actual result is reducing a player's crystal rewards for rank-up (continued play). A buyer won't care. A nonbuyer is likely to be discouraged, leave the game, and find a different way to spend time.

 

There is no way to force people to play well. Some can't. Some cannot be made to care.

 

There are incentives for good play in the game. Suggestions for improving the incentives for team play that contributes to wins would be quite welcome.

Just out of curiosity, what do you think is playing badly? I have my own opinion, and so do other people. Thus it would not be a fair process. Furthermore not everyone is here to play competitive and some people are here just to enjoy the game. Having stats like DL already puts pressure on players ,reduces their enjoyment and adds frustration. This would further add to the problem. If you and others want to play competitive, just create or join a clan to that effect.

casual players... people with bad internet who still want to do their missions despirt knowing they will harm the team... 


these are the irritants that make me want to quit the game

It is very likely that people will abuse this option just to grind newly ranked Marshals players.

The life of players just ranking to marshal would just be hell. Nobody would rank to marshal anymore. If mid rank was not enough difficult.

Imagine that you have 69 million exp and then u lag X times, get X flags and lose those 68 million EXP. I'd automatically quit.

if you lag that much and still continue playing despite already knowing you'll lag and mult your team then I'd be happy to see you leave.

What if it happens to me in DM or JGR, where I go to play just to do my missions, and I have let's say 1 week problem with internet?

Kill/Death ratio is really a pointless stat for a given match. Overall, it is a reasonable indicator, but >3 probably indicates a player who doesn't much contribute to team wins because he only worries about his own kills and avoiding being killed. It is common to see active players who you know helped win the match who have a K/D of 0.5, sometimes less, because they were sacrificing wisely, tactically, to benefit the team.

 

Yes, what is bad?

 

Being in a match chatting? Well, chatting too much, but the point is to have fun, so how much is too much? And after the match is hopeless, who can fault the couple of players who spend more time chatting than fretting?

 

The notion is fraught with problems. Such an effort cannot result in positives.

 

Incentives for good play, for team play, and for completing matches, but there are no sure solutions. Good incentives will help, but the solution requires a "culture." Tanki has no potential for culture because change is too constant. The only players who prove loyal are those who are the most "loner." They don't care much about loyalty to the team, not they dislike it either. They often are competitive and proud to do their part, but the sense of community and mutual social pressure just isn't a potential.

 

There are possibilities, but there seems no will to begin implementing.

FEW Marshalls have m4 equipment.  It costs a LOT for the last 2-3 steps and takes a long time.

VERY FEW Marshalls (aka buyers) have multiple m4 combos and multiple m4 modules.

 

I would love it if I was knocked back to Marshall with the garage I have and played mostly Marshalls.  That would be a hoot.

 

Can't believe this has not been just outright declined.  :lol:

Well, I don't know what to think of this idea.

 

On one hand, this can be abused by just purposely performing bad in battle til you get set back to marshal.

 

On the other hand, being on marshal rank isn't much different from being on legend rank since you'll both have m3s and or m4s and be facing against m3s and or m4s.

 

So really, I'm just neutral on this one.

And what about lower rankers who mult?

You are "meh" player bcs of lags, mod considers you a noob, flags you, just bcs u r Legend, and 5 other teamm8s that are lower ranks can mult as long as they want and don't get punsihed?

now who said then can mult as much as they want??? if they mult they will get BANNED!
