Yep, you read that right. The item unlock model could soon hit the doors of Tanki Online, right after Rocket League implemented the Rocket Pass, more or less being inspired from Fortnite. In the latest V-LOG, one of the computer screens showed this:

It looks like the easy star pass. It looks like there would be 2 type of easy star pass: one type a golden easy star pass (like currently) and a second on like an easy silver star.

Most likely a placeholder image, I doubt they will use same image for two different things (Star Booster and Battle Pass)

The Battle Pass is a systematic pay-to-unlock-item model with two sections, one which is free for all players and the other which can be bought. As shown, the free one is the silver one and the golden one is the purchasable one. There are tiers in the pass, most likely either 50 or 100 depending upon the developers choice, each one containing an item. Free players only get one item per five (or so) tiers while players who purchased get everything. Each tier needs to be unlocked by gathering stars (at least that is what I think it will be), which can be gained by playing battles or completing Battle Pass-specifc missions. You can also purchase all tiers immediately to get all the things. Earlier tiers generally contain common items, increasingly getting better as one progresses in the Pass. In the end there might be rare Pass-specifc paints and even skins, who knows? So yep, it's for all players.

Free stuff is fine until it come in excess. Unless it replace the daily mission like guido suspects then it is levelled. While I understand the principle to reward those who play longer the prospect to inroduce another p2w in the daily mission equivalent is less appealing. That would be fine, or a lesser evil if they also remove the daily reward for premium in the process.

In Fortnite you can obtain the battle pass through weekly challenges. I already figured that battle passes will be bought with real money, but can we obtain them as F2P players through weekly challenges?
