Matchmaking, Turret Balance changes

When I'm going to play a battle, I'm ready - so only reason to implement this, it that not everyone has the internet to be connected in battle during the first 10 seconds, which happens quite often :X Not like a care much about this, it's more about striker/smoky changes. For example long time ago, when freeze was considered underpowered, I used to play a lot with it, since noone used protections, literally NOONE. After the buff, the freeze got too OP, and suddenly everyone switched to freeze protection, moreover freeze was still OP, and that made it less effective. Even after the recent debuff, freeze is good, but I still see many players using protections - that means it's balanced (I don't like it :X).

Difference between freeze and striker is that striker needed exactly what's going to happen - make it harder to avoid shots. I'm quite worried about change to lock-on time, that could cause it to be ridiculously OP (just like jugg's striker).

tl;dr:

Freeze was more OP when it was underpowered, than it's now after buff (and debuff).

Ya ur right, when hitting play normally everyone is ready for the battle, but what I meant was for newly generated battles, where just a few players will be in the battle & people will start joining... at this time the few players in there would be getting all the supplies.. but after this update I feel that the battle will be full at the time of supply drops. But to be honest I feel nearly 2 mins is quite a big duration, it should be something like 70-90 seconds I guess... And yea I also fear that striker is going to be deadly after the update... now a lot of people are gonna use striker protections...

Guys, don't be so naive. As I mentioned before there is no "balancing"; they just play around the parameters to fool you guys around to buy new turrets and hulls and that is all. Other items will be buffed or nerf later, and repeat. It is useless to argue, discuss or complain about the so call "balancing"; they won't listen to any of you guys. Just wait for the next "balancing" to take the chance, your favourite turret might be buffed then.

Agreed. Devs refuse to fix the real issues, however on the flip side the striker buff was needed.

Acyally to be honest Striker is still very op around my rank, all they're users do is cycle through maps (by joining and leaving) until they join a massacre map and just spawn kill from far away.

 

Smokey tho... Seriously, it's already so hard to counter being a rail user and they decide to take away the only advantage a rail user has against a smoky

Again, that's the only map in the MM rotation that suits striker. 

 

With smoky however, I agree with you. There's a reason why most Road to legend accounts use smoky.

i think smoky is fine as it is. it shouldnt have the same effectivenmess as thunder at longer ranges, i think its damage drop off as is is what makes it a skill dependamt turret.

Skill can't overcome the handi-cap of doing 40 points of damage at long ranges... 

 

You think a target will sit around long enough for a smoky to take 25 shots to kill a medium hull?

They do at Recruit ranks.  :)

Matchmaking Improvements

  • Matchmaking will find battles for solo players faster, and the prediction accuracy for the wait time will increase. Situations where the actual waiting time is much longer than the estimated wait time will disappear. 

What we think this means: MM wait time will be shorter.

What this actually means: estimated wait time will increase, thus the actual waiting time will be less than the estimated wait time.

 

Regardless, everything here is very good. Smoky does not need a buff but I'll take it. MM improvements are great.

I really like this update. The only thing is that you did not properly mention exactly how Striker would be affected.

 

Will the salvo mode of Striker have faster re-load time?

Again, that's the only map in the MM rotation that suits striker. 

 

 

Massacre is actually the hardest map to effectively use Striker on. The uneven terrain makes it practically impossible to hit anyone, given the lack of any auto aim on Striker. I will use Striker on any map that isn't Massacre, it being the one map I won't stay on if I am put in it while using Striker.

Once again , u miss the real point . I am at the moment a warrant 1 . I sure as heck do not want to play against a colonel. the higher ranks have equipment not available to the lower ranks. I know the most important thing with tanki is making u spend money .I liked it much better when the protection was in the paint . Now the paint is still way over priced , and what, 10.12 different protections for each level. BULL . U keep screwing with the turrets , u spend real money to upgrade, and in a week its obsolete . Bad . get simpler....itgets worse and worse. Too many 12 yr olds with credit cards .

WARRANT OFFICER ONE TO LIEUTENANT COLONEL IS A RIDICULOUS RANK BRACKET!!

That is not a rank bracket for battles, merely the ranks a third lieutenant can invite to their group. Your group rank limit would be Master Sergeant to First Lieutenant.

Smoky is already powerful, the literal last thing it needed was a buff, PARTICULARLY NOT A RANGE ONE! 

Smoky m1 in the WO ranks is a beast and it needs a nerf. Again though, the devs don't want to lose money from their precious Road to legend youtoubers.

The smoky buff isn't such a big deal as it already is an effective turret if you know how to use it. More excited about the Striker upgrade. Striker is one of the harder to master and has a steeper learning curve. This means using it effectively takes time and commitment. Having more power can help you survive early in your learning cycle and make you a beast as you get it mastered. Now if they could just nerf the Magnum a little and all would be right with the world..lol.
