Tanki Nirvana

Imagine a Tanki where there were no supplies other than drops, no OverDrive, no drones, no kits, and daily missions for crystals or gold boxes only.

 

Before discounting this Tanki pipe-dream out of hand, contemplate it for a moment and what it would actually mean if no one had any supplies and could only pick up drops.  No ODs or drones.  No kits that unlock turrets an hulls for the rich.  Daily missions only rewarding crystals or rarely gold boxes.  Containers would have paints, skins, small amounts of crystals or a gold box, pro-passes, and clan licences. 

 

And as long as I'm dreaming, get rid of the toxic MatchMaking too and let us have choice of map and opponents.

You are basically dreaming that Alternativa Platform turns into an non-profit organisation. Or gets bankrupt, but then there would no more be your beloved game which you love to hate everywhere.

 

Please, tell me a game developer that is an non-profit organisation, that is trying to bring a 'REAL' F2P MMO (real by your standards).

Great new paint...good job!  Now it need to get animated....maybe the eyes opening and x-ing, or the tongue going in and out.  Maybe jut having face appear randomly :)

Please, tell me a game developer that is an non-profit organisation, that is trying to bring a 'REAL' F2P MMO (real by your standards).

First off this is just for fun.  I do actually kinda grasp reality...most of the time, well, some of the time.  There is no way to enter Nirvana for the mere mortal Tanker.

 

But, if Nirvana were to descend from on high, AP/TO could still sell crystals, probably lots of them for MUs which would be the whale/small buyers advantage over the Freebees.  They could sell paints, customizable paints and skins and make them a big exclusive status thing.  They could sell merch (I want a Viking/Twins coffee cup with my name emblazoned in gold).  They could hold pay or invitation (win and invite) only events.  They could sell gold boxes, and clan licences...and pro-passes.  

 

What if Tanki were more fun and they had 120,000 players instead of 20K-25K?  Maybe that number might generate revenue....but hey, I admittedly have a sometimes shaky grasp on reality :)  Cheers :)

That sounds really nice, it is sad that devs will never do this. They rather fake-buffed Vulcan xD

Actually, there are multiplayer games out there that are free.....FREE.....to the players. Yes, you can spend money if you want, but the advantages you get are only slight and keeps the game balanced. You buy what you want with the money you earn in battle. They money you earn is more than efficient to buy the next upgrade or to tweak a part. Two are tank games and the other was set during the time of the Knights-in-Shining-Armor fighting dragons and fighting AIs like King Arthur. The Devs got their money from players who didn't want to fight the tough dragons which dropped the biggest loot so they bought the better armor and weapons from the store. 

 

The games are out there, you just have to take the time to look for them, because they are far and few.

War Thunder is perfect, it has only 1 OP tank. KV-220.

No, because it has no drugs in it and no respawn (I believe). So, it's not for everyone. Same reason why some people don't like WoT....no drugs, no respawn. Plus you have to learn to play by skill, not by pressing numbers.

What you are proposing is this:

 

For the Players

Hummm. Not a whole lot of difference between Nirvana and what we have now.

 a place or state characterized by freedom from or oblivion to pain, worry, and the external world.

 

Sorry, what you have described doesn't fit the bill.

It is really OP only when the enemies see front turret armor (about 200mm LOS armor) only. Front hull armor has 115mm of LOS armor, sides and back of both hull and turret have flat 100mm armor. Hulldown tactic just can not be used all the time, tank needs to attack.

Yeah. War Thunder is far more complex than Tanki and that is the reason why I play both. Tanki to chill and War Thunder to show my skill xD

 

In War Thunder, it is really useful to memorise armor thickness and penetration of your tanks and common enemy tanks (and there are lots of them...). Some tanks can be played through armor (strong frontal armor=rush, strong turret armor=hulldown, boxy shape=angling), some have too low armor for their BR (Battle Rating) but they have strong cannon which compensates the weak armor.

The playerbase thinks the opposite.

There are noobs in every game. Noobs in Tanki say: 'gold was, (admin) drop gold, gold bill, hacker, noob' while noobs in War Thunder say: 'aimbot, russian bias, hacker'

 

It is weird but for some reason (probably huge explosive fillers that give most Russian tanks 1-shooting ability), noobs refer to 'Russian bias' while Russian tanks are not better than their counterparts from other countries because their huge explosive fillers are compensated with lower penetration and armor weakpoints.

Sorry, what you have described doesn't fit the bill. 

uuhhhh....we now have supplies in our garage...dd, da, s, rep kits.  We have drones.  We have ODs...and soon to be even more ODs connected to hulls.  We have kits...that change about once a week.  Daily mission are kinda the same, but in TO-Nirvana there wouldn't be supply missions because there would be no supplies  in the garage.  Containers are kinda the same as now because we have paint, skins, and crystals.  I'll be generous in my pipe dream and let the shop flog the gold boxes, pro-passes, and clan license.

 

"Hummm. Not a whole lot of difference between Nirvana and what we have now."   Maybe I'm missing something, but this seems very different to me.   Now if you were referring to the stuff for For AP/TO, then I understand and agree, not too much different from now...Tanki gotta get paid.

 

 

place or state characterized by freedom from or oblivion to pain, worry, and the external world.  As a Tanki-Nirvana it is close-ish to a Nirvanic state (I just made that word up)  I think it would be much more fun and relaxing to just play Tanki instead of having to jab supply buttons constantly.  No frustrating OD pops just as you are about to accomplish some stupendous Tanki feat.  And no players wielding fully MUed kits three or four ranks before the equipment is even unlocked for everyone else.  

 

And as a bonus, vast hoards of returning players might even bump-up TO's bottom line...and if you are skeptical, there is as much chance of tens of thousnads of players returning to Tanki as there is of Tanki-Nirvana coming into the plane of our existence.  :)

What you are describing is basically an old school pro battle. Shame that the devs screwed them to sell those ******ed drugs. That's why I play wot now, no stupid drugies there to cover your total lack of skill. Wot is not a perfect game, it has problems such as sky cancer and some bs spotting mechanics but that's nothing compared with the overdose in tanki.
