How to join the Star Hunt?

You dont have to sign up or anything

Just join any MM battles (non-pro battle)

And come:

  • 1st and 2nd place on the winning team, 1st place on the losing team and 1st and 2nd places in solo modes (DM and JGR) — 3 stars;
  • 3rd and 4th places on the winning team, 2nd and 3rd places on the losing team and 3rd and 4th places in solo mode (DM and JGR) — 2 stars;
  • Any other place — 1 star, if you have actively played and finished the battle.

The rewards for the star hunt are wayy too low to encourage participation, the old crazy weekend system offered much for generous rewards for the average player. The fact the higher end rewards are at a very high number of stars also encourages players to play an unhealthy amount, I do like the star system idea but this implementation is not good.

Let's take a look at the old system vs the new.

Standard Old Crazy weekend:

400 kills - > 3 containers

800 kills  -> 5 containers + 3 days premium

2000 kills -> 10 containers + 5 days premium, and a paint.

New (TOTAL rewards for reaching each tier, including previous tiers):

50 stars - > 1 Container total
100 stars -> 3 containers total

200 stars -> 6 containers total
300 stars -> 10 containers total
400 stars -> 15 containers total

500 stars -> 21 "

600 stars-> 28 "

700 stars -> 36 "

800 stars -> 45 "

1000 stars -> 45 containers + paint "

....................

Let's do some maths:

Under old system if a player was going for kills, considering they get 20 kills per match (many will get more, some will get less), this will mean it will take 400 / 20 = 20 matches to get 3 containers reward

Under the new system, if a player gets an average of 2 stars per match (doing quite well), it will take them 25 games to get 1 container. MUCH less rewarding for more games for players who can't play much.

If they were going for 800 kills, that would be 800 / 20 = 40 games for 5 containers and 3 days premium

Under new system, 40 games might get them 80 stars, not even enough to reach 3 containers.

They will need a further 10 games at 2 stars on average, a total of 50 games to reach 3 containers. Under the old system they could have had 3 containers after only 20 games...

20 games by the way takes a pretty long time by the standard of the average player, 3 hrs 20 minutes playtime + MM wait time, probably will take over 3 hrs and 30 minutes. 50 games on the other hand is 8 hrs and 20 minutes of playtime, for 3 containers.

So in conclusion, for players who can't play much this star event is pretty worthless. Double funds is good but the star rewards are not, personally I didn't bother with them at all and I know many others didn't. The rewards should be more evenly spaced, for instance:

25 stars: 1 container
50 stars: 2 containers

100 stars: 2 containers
200 stars: 5 containers

300 stars: 6 containers

400 stars: 7 containers
500 stars: 8 containers ( 33 containers total)

and then 600 stars for the paint.

That would be much more realistic and more would play it.

Yes I know it's over a longer period of time, but comparing the rewards vs time spent, the old crazy weekend system gave you much higher rewards per time spent, for players who can't play much. Even 500 - 600 stars over 9 days requires a huge amount of play time per day.

Right?

There are over 100 players with over 1000 stars. The leader has over 5000.

I doubt Tanki goes back to kills for rewards. I don't like stars. Star result depends on too many factors out of the player's control.

Most of the top 100 players likely have Easy Pass and Premium.

My idea for Start Hunt Week....

25 stars = 1 container

500 stars = 20 containers in total + a chance to win special reward, like an MUed equipment

750 stars for a paint + a chance to win another special reward, like XT skin

No Top 10.

Star Hunt

In honor of Tanker’s Day we have decided to launch a new Star Hunt! From 02:00 UTC on September 8th till 02:00 UTC on September 17th play in Matchmaking battles, earn stars and get the coolest rewards — containers and a brand new animated paint “Synth-pop”*!

Prizes:
  • 50 stars — 1 container;
  • 100 stars — 2 containers;
  • 200 stars — 3 containers;
  • 300 stars — 4 containers;
  • 400 stars — 5 containers;
  • 500 stars — 6 containers;
  • 600 stars — 7 containers;
  • 700 stars — 8 containers;
  • 800 stars — 9 containers;
  • 1000 stars — animated paint “Synth-pop”.

The concept of earning stars for some rewards is good,
but it is only attainable with Star pass, and premiums to keep motivated in earning crystals.

well star pass makes the hunts much more easier, faster, and save up time, and supplies,
moreover i barely sees someone with star pass ends up on the last places ,, i guess MM gets them good battles,,
furthermore,, rewards from containers are kind of crappy,

4 containers from weekly chain, is mostly supplies since 3 weeks i've been noticing this...

  • 50 stars — 1 container;
  • 100 stars — 2 containers;
  • 200 stars — 3 containers;

and during the star hunt,, i got only supplies like the above star rewards
but it kinds of gets better from:

  • 300 stars — 4 containers;
  • 400 stars — 5 containers;

and above...

i guess only someone with no-life ,, can do 1000 stars without star pass :P :D , even if it do have adequate supplies for that kind of event.  :lol:

Perhaps you could explain how.

I can't get images to work either.

Of course see below.

Spoiler are added like html tag: [x]  and [/x] replace x with the following word: spoiler (make sure it is all small).

Images on mobile i do not use, but on the PC use the toolbar. If you really want to add image you can do in 2 ways.

1/ use [img=] - after = add the internet link to the image and you need to add the file extension *.png or *.gif

2/ use [imgx=xxx] z [/imx]. - z would be the internet link, and xxx is the size of the image

The second option is when you want to resize the image.

92036638baac9968b243b113f8ce348c.png - I decided to stop at 814 stars. I could have gone for 1000 stars but at the end I gave up. It got really boring and it did cause a bit of stress to me. It is definitely not easy to earn 1000 stars. I could have stayed at home all day today and got 1000 stars but I made the right choice, to go out and enjoy life because the weather was beautiful and it was the right choice.

Yeah, why waste 9 days of your life that you'll never get back for a paint that you could just get out of sheer luck?

Insanity? Yoyu think 1013 stars is insanity? What about them?

A minute of silence for the player ranked 11 in stars. And all the players who earned 2K stars or more, without making it to the top 10.
