Smoky, the new OP turret?

agreed, the stat switch was just stupid

That switch made two unbalances in one go. It made Viking UP since the stability was the only thing that made it relevant up in these ranks.

 

It also made hunter extremely OP since it already had all these advantages where Viking did not. It didn't need the stability, but Viking did since it was the only thing that gave Viking a fighting chance against those who knew how to hit a hulls corners.

 

It was the worse move in tanki history.

with smoky protection you are fine, but againts firebird even if you have 50% is hell :D When you fight with firebird in polygon no drugs if you have 50% againts firebird and if other is firebird too but dont have fire protection, both are on viking for example t, both will die nvm protection, just will live some seconds more with protection and will die from the same user without other shooting at you...

OMFG

No one complains about Thunder Being buffed

But Smoky getting it's stats and there is a long wall of text 

 

The thing is even with the buffed / re-olded Smoky 

it needs more skill to be effective than its brother 

 

Only people with good and fast aim can play with it good  :wub:

Magnum just needs to be properly adjusted.

 

And obviously it was 100 times worse than releasing magnum into the game. The stat switch is the reason why nowadays Viking is the hull that is always overrated as a balanced hull. (Which clearly is bull crap) hunter is better than Viking in every way now.

Also if a guy knows the map well and knows how to hide & sneak  + Dodge enemies shots { Teach me Fire dodging  :( }

So for that guy Viking will be better

Also Most player use Viking cause of it's looks 

While Hunter looks good only in M3 imo  :wub:

Viking is only slightly faster than hunter, which means it's hardly noticeable if any. Besides, speed ain't gonna do much good if you're easily knocked around.

 

Think about it if a m2 Viking and a m2 hunter each faced a smoky that knows how to hit corners without using protections, MUs, alterations, or supplies on their own. Using say a thunder.

 

Now m2 viking does have the slight hp advantage, but that smoky can make it turn a good 60 degrees with each shot, resulting less shots focused on the smoky.

 

Even if m2 hunter has a little less hp, it has that ridiculous stability to size ratio that makes it almost impossible for the smoky to knock back even an inch, thus the hunter can land more shots on it.

I used to like Viking for being a bit speedier, but recently I have discovered that it is a lot easier to rock the hull with Hunter and make greatly more use of the auto-aim, esp. for Smoky, Thunder and Striker.

We can keep on this Fight till Tanki Die's { or untill the Dev's do something to Hullls  :ph34r: }

 

Well i have to remind you that not all battles are packed with Twins,Smokies & hammers to knock you up

 

And i Find myself hard to aim wid my stock m2 Viking Only when facing a M2+ Twins head to head { and sometimes my Rico helps me end him  :ph34r: }

 

Well its upto the Player's preference 

I like to equip Viking when there is no m3 Twins killing me 

* even if i face twins or ..... s i still equip Viking , cause i dont have anyother m2 hull  :P

 

Back to the topic heading 

Smoky is better now 

but in a losing team dont expect to turn the battel your way , single handly , 

But some turrets can do that so i can say Smoky is not OP its just Okay { except when a WO face a m1 10/10 smoky  :ph34r: }

I was against Thunder reload buff and I think that Thunder is OP along with Magnum and Smoky.

 

Why is Magnum OP? Infinite range, huge damage per shot, good DPS, can lob shots, huge splash.

 

Why are Thunder and Smoky OP? Simple. 50% weak damage, big damage per shot, good DPS, instant hit (can not be dodged like Striker or Rico).

In my opinion, long range turrets are better with Hunter (or Dictator if you want only to camp and you have Shaft protection) because of stability and hull swinging.

 

On the other hand, short and medium range turrets are better with Viking because of higher speed and low height (helps in short range combat).

 

I think that all medium hulls have same width and length (correct me if I am not right).

nah, dictator has the width and length closer to tht of heavy hulls, but viking and hunter have the same width and length

But still SMoky is not OP its Okay 

 

Fagnum can be OP if there are 3+ of them in one team raining lead full time

if it is just 1 guy it will be not be so OP , if you are good you can make him rage quit if you want 

Being a solo Fagnum you will have to be careful of all the shots  :ph34r:

Only a Fagnum player can know what i mean

In CTF even one Magnum player just has to lob shots near the flag - numbers indicate you are getting hits.  So it's like having an unkillable spotter.

 

Magnum may not outright kill the defenders, but it softens them up enough for attackers to have much easier time getting away with flag.

Is it worth it for defenders to select Magnum module, even if there's only 1?  Huge benefit to Magnum team.

Worst part is - defenders have no way of hiding from the hit or large-area splash.

 

Defenders can use cover to hide from all turrets except magnum.

Thunder and Smoky are currently the most OP turrets, followed by Fire and Magnum. Devs will probably try to nerf these turrets.

 

New Smoky alterations seem strong but are they? What is the best? Standard critical, supercritical, freezing shot or afterburn shot?

Thunder and Smoky are hardly OP.

They are OP. They are the most versatile turrets in Tanki. They are effective at ANY range. Other turrets are not.

 

Rail, Vulcan - bad at close range due to shot delay

 

Striker - bad at long range due to limited rocket speed

 

Shaft - bad at medium range due to 25% arcade shot weak damage

 

Magnum - bad at close range due to huge splash, long range shots depend on luck
